The party kept exploring the vault and found another trap along with the second key needed to open the inner vault. After acquiring both keys the party used them gain access to the inner vault and discovered there were more guardians. After another fight silence fell again, and this time for good. The vault had already been pilfered through some time in the past, but there were still several items that proved useful. After some looting and resting the party found the burial place of the two Rangers that built the vault. It was decided that they would not investigate them further so they just left.

After leaving the vault and starting to head towards the final fort, a familiar aerial acquaintance descended to parlay. Krynn updated the party’s map with the current locations of all Hobgoblins in the area and notified that the fort they were heading to was already compromised. He told them there was a black dragon running things there with a druid as an associate. He wished the party well and warned them to be prepared before engaging the last fort.

The party made their way towards the final fort.

The female Troll was finally defeated and the forts exterior became quiet. A search of the room she occupied revealed a secrete door going right into the side of the hill. After the lock was picked the group went inside to find 2 plaques pointing to the two ways to go. The northeast route was chosen and the party was immediately gifted with an arrow trap that pelted them and caused some moderate damage. As they proceded, a bow golem started shooting at them and by the time combat was in full swing a large metal golem joined the fight as well. We ended the night as both golems were dispatched.

We continued with the fight at Fort Nunder moving from the front line troll defense to a male and female troll that seem to be more powerful than your previous foes.

The party discovered that Fort Nunder was inhabited by Trolls and Troll Hounds. After a brief discussion on assault tactics, the group attacked the Fort. One of the three Trolls have been dispatched and only 1 of the 3 hounds is still in a position to cause much damage.

The group headed back home where they were warmly welcomed. The new members were introduced to the refugees and a celebratory night ensued. By the next day discussions were had and it was determined that our heroic group would head to Fort Nunder to try and secure some dragon fighting weapons. On the way to the fort, the party noticed a fight up ahead between some rather large creatures. After scouting revealed that it was trolls and a green dragon, the party jumped into action to aid Krynn…..again ….. although the way he told it, he was bringing the scouting party to you so you could dispatch them head on instead of being ambushed by them.

After the foes were dispatched, the dragon warned of further troll scouting parties in the area and indicated that he was about to embark on a scouting mission of his own to figure out what was going on across the whole region. He told the group that once he finished in a few days, he would find them and tell them what to do next  I mean report back.

We ended the night as the party crested a hill on the outskirts of Fort Nunder only to discover that it too had been breached.

February

We finished the boss battle and secured Fort Ristin. A conversation was had about what happened when, and what next steps should be.

January

The fight against the Satyrs, the fleshy golem creature and the angry wasps that burst from him continued until the last swarm was finally burnt away. After the fight, the party investigated the kitchen where the Satyrs had come from and found a functional kitchen with existing food stores, although the current meal in progress left much to be desired. Stairs down to a cellar were found and after descending, a fight ensued with a korred that was very protective of the large amount of alcohol that was present. After he was convinced of the error of his ways, a cell was found that contained a one-legged halfling and bound and gagged human (I know there’s the making of a joke here somewhere). The Halfling was a good friend of Ephram and the human turned out to be a druid (thank god the druid’s here!). After finding out from the prisoners what happened at the fort, the party once again ventured forth and started climbing the main keep until they came across the largest korred they had seen with some spriggans wanting to join his brood. After the party so rudely burst into the room, the korred told the spriggans they could join if they killed the intruders.
