They’re Re-doing Menzoberranzan

The official D&D Beyond website has released the “Underdark Options” Unearthed Arcana playtest document, providing new material for groups that are being prepared for a future book. One of the new options is a Rogue subclass, called the House Agent, which is specifically listed as coming from one of the great houses that rule Menzoberranzan, the drow city that resides in the Underdark of Faerun.

While there are many drow cities in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, none has been fleshed out more than Menzoberranzan. This is because it was heavily featured in R.A. Salvatore’s The Legend of Drizzt novel series, as it’s where its protagonist, Drizzt Do’Urden, was born, and would eventually escape, traveling to the surface world, where he would become one of the most famous Dungeons & Dragons heroes of all time.
