Scottish treasure hunter discovers ancient dice between 500 and 2000 years old Les Hostetler | August 19, 2026 | Items of Note | No Comments Hospital worker Jarek Musialkowski, 52, from Penicuik, discovered the ancient piece on August 7, while enjoying his hobby on fields around the Midlothian village, on the banks of the North Esk. The dice is 11mm wide, weighing 11 grams, and is believed to have been made in bronze. Having sent photos to the National Museum of Scotland, treasure hunter Jarek says he will take it in for experts to see on August 31.
