So, uh, you guys have been sort of chasing around down in this basement. You've run into some ghouls. Uh, and several of you have been bitten by ghouls, uh, to greater or lesser extents. And I will be probably speaking to a couple of you at least about 00:00:36 potential ramifications of being bitten by ghouls because being bitten by a ghoul is not awesome. Uh, especially if you manage to miss several saving throws in a row. So, um, so there's problems there. But also, you guys came into this room. You guys have been sort of noodling around out here and you came into this room. Seems like it's some sort of there was some sort of quarters or something down here because the room that uh uh um that Tenzen is standing in right now is sort of like a 00:01:02 sitting room or a parlor of sorts. Got a table uh some uh uh some tall candle uh you know standing candlestick things. Um and uh it just seems like this would be an area where um where people would gather or somebody would relax. Uh they are extraordinary hard to explain away. It was a seat belt. It was my seat belt. But um so they haven't been around for a while, but they basically you'll remember that they basically when you guys discovered them, they basically uh beseeched you. please help us find Arena. She's down in the basement and the monsters will get her if it reaches midnight. You know, that kind of thing. Um, it seemed odd and nobody had mentioned anybody named Arena before except for Madame Eva. Um, who 00:10:54 who mentioned the name Arena. So, maybe the two are related. Who knows? Uh, but in the meantime, you guys have been kind of hunting around down here. You've come across some ghouls. You've destroyed those. Uh, it was actually quite a few ghouls down here. And then you came across this room here and it was a it's a large bedroom. We have not searched any of it. Well, the people themselves are might be unsearchable. Uh, and the reason being is that they are quite desiccated and gooey undead. They're wearing the the the tatters of what look to be like maybe night clothes, pajamas, but they're th those those what clothing they have on is soaked through with um >> just horrifying fluids and and and just 00:12:00 all this kind of stuff. Uh there was a large foot locker at the base of the uh thing that now the female undead's sort of dripping body is sort of draped across because she came forward to try and attack you 00:12:39 guys. And when you and when you killed her uh you know she uh she sort of you know collapsed on top of that box. So she's going to have to be moved before you do anything um you know significant. I mean, so you've you've been here and the place the place absolutely smells. Uh this whole this whole basement area is pretty funky. All right, 20. So, yeah, you look at the you look at it and it's a pretty nasty bite. Uh but, um honestly, it looks I mean, you don't see any evidence of infection. It might be quite early, uh but you don't see any evidence of infection or or disease. It's just a it's quite a nasty wound more than anything. And it's been it's been patched up. I mean, you could take some time and wrap some bandages around it and that kind of thing and it and it's 00:16:18 not it's not it's not bleeding or any it's not bleeding anymore. Um, you know, undead lord can I do an undead undead lord check? >> Sure. Uh all right. So, uh, as a as a with a 19 undead lore, you know that, um, these wounds tend to, uh, so the thing about ghoul fever is that it tends to slip up on the unwary, right? Um, it's not obvious at first, but there are some uh there are some certain uh there are some certain elements that might uh that might give it away. So there's a couple of things that you would know like so first thing is a wound infected with 00:17:31 ghoul fever tends to smell a little like a little coppery uh which is hard to detect if it's actively bleeding because blood has that sort of coppery smell but it does have a like it's like a a coppery smell almost. Um they also have an unhealthy look to them. Not necessarily infected all the time just unhealthy uh like you know ragged and that kind of stuff. Um people who have it oftentimes um you know when it when the disease begins to take hold they uh um they'll see you know another interesting so 00:18:07 you'll see them they like often times they'll like they'll touch touch them their necks and their faces unc not uncontrollably but more often than they normally would. Um they tend to when when uh when the disease is starting to take hold, you'll see them sort of fixate if there's blood uh or an open wound around. They'll you you'll see them kind of staring at it. Um often times their eating uh declines. They don't uh they don't eat as much. Uh they or in some cases completely stop eating. 00:18:37 Uh, and one other thing is that horses and dogs especially, but oftentimes all animals tend to avoid or shy away somebody that shy away from somebody that has ghoul fever >> in this case. I mean, uh, you're a cleric, too. Do you want to do a quick medicine check? >> Sure thing. You bet your boots on that one, cowboy. >> So, uh, uh, a 10. Yeah. I mean, you don't in group Hill's wounds, you don't see anything. Um, it it just looks like a a fairly egregious bite. You don't see 00:19:14 any signs of infection. Uh, it looks normal to you. >> Check. >> I mean, as as normal as any ghoul bite might, >> it'll be fine. >> Me, too. >> So, uh, did you guys want to examine? You can't it doesn't have any funky smells or anything. The first thing as you're examining Tenzen's uh uh 00:21:55 Tenzen's wound, you see his hand kind of go up and after what uh uh after what uh Velcro said, you see his hand sort of go up and scratch at the at the area where his neck and his throat meet. He kind of just scratches there and gets a funky look and you wouldn't think about it otherwise. It seems like a completely natural kind of action except for what um what Velcro just said about uh about his knowledge of cool fever. >> Pensen, sorry, we're going to have to lose that arm. No, that's that's from 00:22:20 the crack cocaine. >> Ah, y'all got any more of those cool fevers? Um, you also noticed that Tenzen is a is sweating a little bit, which again, not uh not unheard of. You guys just came out of combat in which Tenzen was involved. Uh, but uh he's got like a a sheen a little bit of a sheen of sweat that you can see on his on his arms and and >> looks a little feverish. >> He looks a little feverish maybe. And then then you examine the wound. And at first the wound is like everybody else's 00:22:51 where it's just a bite mark, that kind of stuff. But the moment you sort of get close, you get there's a smell. Uh and it's not a good smell. It's a like a like a gymnasium smell a little bit. >> Um after the big double header basketball game. Yeah. It's a little it's a little musty. It's a little boey. Um, it's there's a there's a there's a there's a minor funk there. >> Velcro, hold him down. You know, is there uh, is he itching his ear or anything crazy? and he seems to be exhibiting none of these behaviors. In fact, I think uh you guys were a little bit taken back because Velcro really gets in there at the wound is like kind of smelling it, >> poking it, 00:24:24 >> getting the trying to get in the funk. But Velcro, you do not uh you don't smell it's that same that that kind of smell that came off of Tenzen. Uh you are not getting off of Iggy. He does. The good news is you get to lead the party 20 feet out in front of everybody. >> Well, Velcro or know ghoul fever tends to tends to really kick in. It takes a 00:24:52 while, right? So, it tends to >> be more infected. So, >> we can't get more infected. >> It fever tends to kick in about 24 to 48 hours after the initial infection. Uh, and then it takes a couple of days to proceed. Uh, so I mean it from from soup to nuts, it's the better part of a week. >> So we we could we could rescue this little girl and and you'll feel really good. So, the big box in the corner, the one that Akudagawa was standing on briefly, uh, during the, uh, brewhaha. Um, is filled with torches. Uh, and they seem unused. good good high quality c not custom made but uh you know store-bought torches with the with the solid wood handle and the and the the 00:27:00 tar wrappings around it and that kind of stuff. And you'll also find at the very bottom which seems to have like slipped down into the box a little bit is a solid um apparently unused um tinder box uh flint and steel set. Oh, >> so there are a total of 22 torches in the box. >> Yeah. >> So, somebody's been using some of them because the box is not quite full. And you can see like in the bottom of the box, they're sort of stacked like somebody somebody ordered a box of 00:27:32 torches and they stacked a bunch of things in a proper manner and sent it. But the torches on top or Yeah, it's like a Costco box of torches. It's where I get all my torches. Uh, I can't. Actually, I can't. I'm on the Illinois side, so I have to get my torches at Sam's Club. Um, just not as fun. Uh, but uh, so the bottom ones are sort of packed uh, properly, I guess, for lack of a better term, but the ones on the top sort of are like skittered around a bit. It looks like maybe the the tinder 00:27:58 box flint and steel kit was sitting on top and then sort of like fell down in into the bottom of the box, but it's down there. >> Okay. Well, we should take all of that. I mean the I think that didn't we find that that fire was effective against the um against the ghouls? Well, there are two boxes, right, of two. >> So, there's a big the big box with the torch is more like a crate and there's a foot locker at the bottom at the like the foot of the bed. So, there's a bunch of stuff in that box. Um, so the first thing you see is um, uh, there looks to be, so if you look at the box, it's all so weirdly all of the stuff in the box is very neatly arranged. >> And so on the left hand side, we'll go from left to right. On the left hand side is folded very neatly a long black cloak. Ah. >> Uh, and uh, next to the cloak and sort 00:29:42 of buttressing it up against the left side is a small wooden coffer uh, with a little latch on it. Doesn't look like it's locked though. Uh, next to that is >> I'll pull the coffer out and hand it to a Kudagawa. >> Okay. Uh, next to that is a chain mail shirt in good condition. Uh it is a little rusty uh but an hour's worth of time with it uh could make it quite serviceable. Uh there is a what is obviously an eating kit like a mess kit of sorts. You know those things that 00:30:18 kind of put together like you had in Gub Scouts or uh Girl Scouts for Gwen. Uh probably had a me a mess kit. Uh there looks to be in a small box with a bunch of like shredded papyrus and stuff kind of surrounding it. There's a round bottom flask with a cork in it. >> And interestingly protruding from the cork. And as you can see once you once you look at it, you can see it kind of going in is a certain sort of string that goes from outside through the cork and then into the the uh sort of maroon liquid inside the 00:30:54 flask >> like a molotov cocktail kind of. >> That's what I was going to say >> possibly. Yeah. Okay. Uh there's a empty lantern uh in good condition. Uh a small roll bag. So, you know how some like uh you know the like the roll outs when like chefs have for their knives and stuff like that? It looks like one of those. It's like a a roll up with with thongs like holding it together. And a small book with a yellow leather cover, maybe the size of a Cordo. Um I don't 00:31:26 know if you guys know Cordtos, but about half the size of a standard 8 and 1 half by 11 notebook turned sideways. So small. >> Okay.
