00:00:02 All right, the thing is on. Uh, so yeah, just so you just so you guys know, sorry, my cord is under my chair again. I gotta go. Uh, so just so you guys know, I have uh put together a on tinyman.com. One of the big buttons at the top is Strad. Uh, and so that will take you to a page which has links to all of the recaps, all of the videos, uh, NPC page, which I'm making, which will have all the NPCs that you guys interact with listed. Um, and we're going to have, uh, I haven't got it 100% 00:00:36 started yet, but lore pages so that you there will be information about stuff. So, it'll be all in one sort of clearing house on on, uh, tinyband.com. So feel free to check those out uh when you uh have a moment be prior to games. But in the meantime, as a very quick sort of recap, as soon as I get there, here we go. Um so recap on session two. Uh so last time we um we went over a little bit about the tarot card reading and we got tarot cards for both uh Dan and Eric who had missed last time I believe. Uh, and then you guys 00:01:15 met uh you guys were coming out of there and you met Iggy uh Iggy, someone from your plane who had come here at the behest of someone he calls either his master or his patron. Uh and uh basically said I'm I'm you know I'm I'm here to I'm here from uh I'm here from Museif and I'm here to help. Um and then you guys spotted that one of the you know as you guys walked out there was a guy who was watching you guys. See, now he he took off um you know, after you guys spotted him, but after you guys got 00:01:44 back to the blue water uh the blue water in, you started talking about this and um sort of realized that there's um you know that that Count Strad has what are effectively a secret police uh probably throughout Bovia. I mean the the reception you got in the town the village of Bovia uh practically in the shadow of Castle Ravenloft um you know was um you know they got you out of town just as quickly as possible. Now you came here to Aki and uh now you've been warned that you know this the the counts 00:02:19 agents are everywhere and part of the Renfields that's what we'll call them from now on the Renfields you know uh like um who are the detectives from the 1800s Pinkertons like yeah they're Renfields they're like Pinkertons um but yeah but in many ways they uh so there was some rumors that the the Renfields were using Death house. This the old Durst mansion which colloquially is known as death house around town that um that they've been using that for interrogations, captures, who knows 00:02:54 what. Uh but that the count's agents uh are are able to, you know, they look like everybody else, but they are able to identify themselves because they wear a medallion that has a raven in it. The count symbol is a is a raven, and so they have a raven medallion that identifies them. You guys talked a little bit about the plausibility of maybe faking these or stealing these medallions to try and go on from there, but ended up you guys kind of went around town, uh, checked out a little bit and then made your way sort of over 00:03:23 to the Durst Mansion, uh, and checked it out, you know, kind of circled around it. It looked like it has been unattended for many years. Although, as you guys were there, you saw that there was a light up in the attic window. Uh, which for an abandoned house, having a light in the attic window is fairly unusual. Um, somebody sent someone up to check it out. I think it was Iggy sent >> Failen. >> Iggy sent Failen up to check it out. And a couple of things happened. So Failen, the closer that she got she 00:03:56 >> Dan >> she >> she the closer she got to the window the less light she was able to see. Even though you guys down in the street the light seemed unchanged. But by the time Failen got to the window ledge, she could perceive no light coming out of the attic at all. But inside the attic, she was able to look in and she did see what looked to be a couple of small skeletons lying on the floor of the attic sort of intertwined with each other. So that was that was odd. You guys uh you guys ended up 00:04:28 breaking into the building, checked out uh you know uh a couple of uh a couple of rooms. It honestly it gives every impression of having been largely abandoned. You did not see a lot of evidence. So, of all the rumors that the that the um the Renfields are using this as a as a um you know, sort of staging area or interrogation place or anything like that, you didn't see a lot of evidence for that. Uh a lot of most of this, you know, it's very rare that the um that the dust on the ground is 00:04:58 disturbed. Um you know, it looks it gives every indication of not having had a bunch of people in it. Uh you guys were able to determine that the Dursts had lived here up until about 15 years ago at which point they sort of disappeared off the face of the earth and no one really knows what happened to them other than the general idea of well this is Bovia and sometimes people just disappear. Um, so there was that kind of discussion that went on, but you know, like any like any sort of region that suffers under an autocrat, 00:05:32 um, people don't talk that much about it. Um, you know, these things happen and you're just glad it's not you, that kind of thing. Especially with a apparently a fairly active secret police act, uh, you know, operating in the in the region. You guys continued on through the house, looked around for something. Uh, there was uh, it's a great question, Gwen. was something interesting about the picture. Uh you did see um so there there was a picture in the hallway the the entryway of the uh of the of the main level and 00:06:04 it was a picture of what looked to be the Durst family mother father uh the father holding a baby. Uh let me see maybe we just pop that up. Let's take a look. Uh here we go. Yeah. So we'll just pop it up. So yeah, the father holding a baby uh mother, father, uh son and daughter, a baby in arms and uh but the the but the plate underneath says Mr. Gustaf and Mrs. Elizabeth Durst and their two children, Thornbolt and Roosevelt. Uh no mention of the ch the baby uh that uh Gustaf is holding is on the is on the 00:06:44 name plate which was kind of odd. But yes, there was >> It's not like it was a picture. It was a painting. They painted the baby in. >> Yeah, they painted the baby, but they didn't put him on the name plate. So, >> expression is a little bit like >> Well, yeah. And the mother in the expression in the painting, which they would have sat for, right? So, I mean, it's this is the painting that they put on the wall. So you could see that that Elizabeth seems to be casting what might 00:07:16 in literary terms be a jaundest eye upon the upon the smallest child. So um whatever h whatever her feelings about that particular child uh the artist seemed to capture it quite well uh in this particular painting but yes it was odd. So you guys were you guys went through that you guys uh uh went uh through some rooms. We found a uh a drawing room that had uh some rats hidden under uh some old um some old uh skins that were covering the floor. Uh you know, it was a drawing room, a card room, uh a a men's chamber. Uh pretty 00:07:51 much you also discovered a large ornate dining room. In this case, the dining room did not have any dust or anything on the plates, cups, and stuff. And you guys were able to check it out. Uh and there is a is a minor bit of magic associated. These plates and cups weren't sourced in such a way that they kept clean. Uh uh they didn't have to be clean. So, and where dust is covering all of the other material in the in the room and in the uh you know in this thing the everything on top of the table 00:08:20 looks like it's ready for it's ready for dinner. Um further you guys went up into the kitchen and one of the strange things about the kitchen is that there's actual food in the kitchen. Meat, vegetables, bread and all of that. Despite the obvious age of this building and the the the uh the obvious long term that it has been uninhabited, that food looked perfectly good, fresh even laying there. Uh and you guys checked it out and you guys found a little pantry as well that you checked in and inside 00:08:51 there was more food that looked entirely fresh. >> Did anyone try the food? >> No one. No one tasted anything. >> I I took some but I did not try any. Are all the major food groups represented at the table? >> Uh yes, the food pyramid was adequately represented, although a little heavy on meat and garden vegetables. Not much dairy, uh and not much cereals, a few loaves of bread. >> Would it lean towards more olive oil than butter? >> A place like this, I would say this is probably a butter 00:09:28 country. Uh >> are there any sauce? Are there any sauces? Uh there weren't any obvious sauces, but I would say probably because of the climate which tends to be a bit >> No, not the salier again. >> Remember the salsier, Ren? >> The salsier. Uh so I would say yeah, this is a butter country. I would say this is probably less uh because olives have to grow in a Mediterranean climate. So and Bovia does not have a Mediterranean climate. It has more of a >> middle to middle northern European 00:09:58 climate. Stuttgart maybe, but Stuttgart's in the south, isn't it? >> Uh, central >> central I would say probably northern Germany. What's in northern Germany >> here? Hamburg. There's hamburgers there. >> Hamburger. Okay. Uh, more like that. >> Shine. Uh, the hotly contested for Schlice. Um, but yeah, so uh so probably a butter uh a butter place. So you guys went through that. you did find a little closet that had uh a bunch of black hooded cloaks um 00:10:33 you know that you guys took and thought maybe this would be uh handy to have. Uh they seem to be in good condition that and then you went upstairs uh and checked out the thing. And here's where we sort of start today is you guys in the upstairs area. You've just reached the second floor. Let's just go ahead and put you guys back. And who do we think that painting was? older than 15 years. So, probably >> about 20 20 years. >> Yeah, probably maybe 18 years. Yeah. No longer. 00:11:04 >> Okay. Dan, how old your how old your character? I think you were the baby. >> He is a baby. >> No, no. The >> Yeah, I am young. I'm human and and a young human. Let's say in my 20s. >> Okay. So, that that could be you. You could be in your family home right now. But yeah, you guys, >> that's what we're telling the authorities when we get pinched. >> It's his house. Um, he's the baby. Uh, so, um, but yeah, you haven't seen any 00:11:36 people. The only the only >> creatures you've encountered is a little patch of of of, uh, rats that were hidden under under some old, uh, fairly torn up um, you know, bare skin rug type type action. Did we did we examine the rats to make sure that they were just normal brats for those? >> Uh I don't know that you guys examined them. No, I don't. In fact, I would have to say you probably did not. >> I mean, >> it tasted just like a rat. >> Can't believe a couple of rats got away 00:12:08 with a couple of hungry orcs in the house. >> That's it. >> So, we are on the second floor right now and the staircase continues up and we have multiple doors in here. Is that correct? >> Correct. Yeah, you guys have you guys have just now come up to the second floor of the staircase. You found yourself in sort of a entryway is too strong a word. It's um sort of an open area, a hallway of sorts, but it's wide. You know, it's this is where the thing this could have 00:12:32 been, you know, a second floor gathering area, although there's no chairs or anything in here. the only the only decoration that are having I mean there's there's um fresco or you know painting on the walls uh that you guys have examined and >> we see suits of suits of armor and then fireplace. Is that correct? >> That's correct. Yeah, you've got a fire big fireplace uh which you have realized because there was another one downstairs. This is probably the main fireplace and 00:12:57 >> ch say does that correspond with that same chimney? >> It does. Yeah. And is there also another portrait p uh painting on the on this uh >> there is not on this on this. No more there's no portraits here. Uh the um the uh the walls are paint have have sort of murals on them. And at first when you first looked at them you would thought ah this is some sort of springtime festival that's being like almost like a May festival that's being uh you know uh uh represented here. But upon closer 00:13:30 look, you realize that so it looks at first look, it looks like there they're people dancing around in trees and things like that. But as you look closer, you see that they're not dancing. They're fleeing from what look to be these very highly stylized bats that are chasing all of the people in these in these um in these paintings. >> What a really odd painting. There is a painting above the above the mantle on this but it does not represent is not a picture of the family. It is a bit it is 00:14:00 a p is a large picture of what looks to be a windmill uh and on a >> which is the crest >> which is part of their crest right so it it looks it's trying to be more the crest is quite stylized if we if we remember what the crest looked like I just had it on the a minute ago um so it was sort of like a a gold windmill on a green field this is sort of like that but it's much more realistically painted uh like the um like the portrait you're guessing that this particular painting 00:14:31 was probably painted by the same artist because it has sim similar texture, similar colors, uh, and similar age, frankly. Uh, but it is of a there's no people in it as far as you can tell. It's just a picture what looks to be a large windmill in the distance. >> And, and does it look like it's a like a real place or does it look like it was just a place that was like from the imagination of the artist? >> Hard to tell. There is a plaque >> on the thing. >> Okay. Well, 00:15:00 take a look at the plaque. It's always good to read the plaque. >> So, that plaque says, it's a similar plaque, little brass plaque, similar engraving, and it says the old bone grinder, Durst Mill, uh, Bovia underneath it. That's all it says. >> The old bone grinder. >> The old bone grinder is in quotations >> and it says Durst Family Mill. >> Okay, >> that sounds like a location. It looks like there's one locked door here that we're are aware of. 00:15:31 >> So there was So on the south end here, both of these doors were locked, but one of the last things that Akudagawa did was unlock this particular door right here. Uh the one that you can see that doesn't look to be locked anywhere. The other one is still locked. The two to the north are unlocked. Uh and there is another one that uh Feline is over by. Feline uh >> Feline is how to pronounce it. Yes. Dan, >> pardon. >> Failen is how to pronounce that. >> Oh, yeah. Failen, sorry. 00:16:02 >> Failen. And Failen is hovering over by another door which was right at the uh right at the top of the steps as you came up. It was right there by the right. Um, but certainly sort of off to the side. It's uh easily uh unnoticeable. But yeah, there are two doors to the south, two doors to the north. believe that Guggilda uh listened to the door to the south as one of the last things that we did last time we played and did not hear anything. >> Well, we may as well go through that 00:16:30 since it's a locked door. >> Right. Right. >> It's not locked any longer. >> This this side here is not locked. Okay. >> Correct. >> And I think um I think I had both hands on my sword and I've been kicking doors in. >> Anybody want to open that for you? That that would be slow. I I don't really It seems like a lovely door and I don't want to damage it. >> Okay, I will stand over here and and open the door for her. >> Okay, >> then I will go through. 00:17:02 >> Okay, the door opens. >> Um what looks to be some sort of ballroom. >> Is it Is it a big beautiful ballroom? Uh yeah. No, I don't know >> where it's held every night. >> Probably not. >> Would it be to the east? Would it be to the east of the main office? >> No, it's it's to the south. Uh it's actually above the uh card room, but I uh I get what you're I I picking up what you're putting down. Let me get Can we get a light in here? Uh so that we can 00:17:37 all see what's going on. You guys can probably see, but >> yeah, I can see it. Can we does that second door that's not that's still locked does that also correspond like can we see the corresponding door? Yeah, that one. >> Uh yes, you absolutely can. >> Okay. Okay. >> One momentto. >> No. >> Why is it not? >> I feel like the entryway was sort of underneath the piano. No, it was like sort of the the corn. >> That didn't help at all, did it? 00:18:14 >> I can see the room. >> If if if you go in, you can see just fine. >> Yeah, if you go inside, you can see. >> There is another fireplace, but it's uh all the way across >> opposite. Yeah. >> Was there a fireplace in the office where we encountered the rat? >> There we go. All right. Hey, speaking of, I think that's Eric. >> There it is. Oh, Eric. >> We going to rant. >> There he is. >> Can you hear me? >> Can do. Yes, sir. 00:18:45 >> Can you hear me? >> Yes, sir. >> Yes, we can. Welcome, Eric. >> Uh, hello. I'm so sorry that that I'm late. Um, I just got the family to Beth. Uh, I'll I'll find out what's going on. Less your recapitulation as always was comprehensive, well written, elegant, and I read it twice. Thank you. >> Thank you. Oh, it's finally I'm glad because I mentioned that that recap to everybody and everybody kind of looked at me like they didn't know I was what I 00:19:10 was talking about. So, I'm glad that somebody's reading it. Thank you, Eric. >> Extra experience points for you. >> That's That's >> extra experience points for Eric for reading the reap. >> Uh you're now level three. Thanks, Eric. No, I'm just kidding. Um >> Wow. >> All right. So, you go in there and you you go in this room. So, you guys you guys peer in. They're going to the south, Eric. So, uh, this room, frankly, at one point would have been, uh, well, 00:19:36 fantastic in what you suspect to be sunlight. There's some there's some, uh, uh, curtains over the down in the south end, which you think would have would have let in a great deal of light. Um, there are some, uh, red lace kind of drapes which are framing the the windows uh, and that kind of thing. And, uh, you know, there's a white fireplace on the eastern side. And you can see a couple of things. One thing when you when you walk in right in front of you, you see a uh a large and while covered in dust, a 00:20:07 beautiful still quite beautiful harpsacord uh that is sitting there. And not only that, there does seem to be something small and shiny uh sitting on the top of the harpsicord. There's also over on the other side is a large harp uh that is sitting over there uh that um you know is just sort of thing. This this and there's some chairs around the the thing uh you know chairs around the edges of the of the of the table and that kind of this was some sort of your guess is that this was some 00:20:37 sort of ballroom. So, the hall outside with the uh with the um suits of armor and things like that would have been kind of like maybe a reception hall for for parties and things like that because this is definitely a place where people would have enjoyed a nice party. >> Well, you guys are in for a treat because Tinsen was the lead singer of our orc punk band. >> Awesome. Awesome. >> And I just happen to play the harps accord. >> You said there was a silver object on the harps accord. There is indeed. It's 00:21:08 just sort of sitting on the edge here. I have a I have a small picture. So, as you come in and you look uh uh through the room, you could see this hops harpsacord sitting there and sitting it looks like the it almost looks like a creature sitting on on the thing until you realize that it looks to be almost entirely made. It's like a little figurine of a seated female >> human appear to be of glass. >> It does either glass or crystal and it's just sitting on top. I think we need to 00:21:37 call call over our resident witch for that. He's the glass man. >> Oh, yeah. >> Well, >> I don't I don't want it to run away, so I'm going to snap it little legs off. >> All right. You're not going anywhere. >> If if somebody even looks like they're going to be doing that, he is going and grabbing it quick. >> All right. So, Iggy, you're gonna go check it out. >> Yeah, Iggy, come check this out. I think it's right up your alley. 00:22:04 >> He's hypnotized. I I think it's I think it's the muffin man. >> All right. So, you go over there and you take a look at it. I'm assuming that you pick it up or are you are you looking at it from >> examine it with his eyes first? But >> sort of leaning forward. >> Yeah. >> Gotcha. Okay. So, uh it Yeah, it is a crystallin. Uh could probably glass or some sort of um it's it doesn't look >> it to your eyes. It doesn't look carved. 00:22:33 So, you're thinking that crystal is probably not what it's made of. It's probably glass. Uh, and it does seem to be a figurine of what looks to be an adolescent girl uh with long hair. Uh, and the eyes especially uh have these little small blue gems uh sort of embedded in them to make them uh look very lifelike. Um, but yeah, it's a it's it's essentially a a glass uh figurine about oh, eight inches high maybe uh in a seated position uh of a what looks to be a young girl. 00:23:07 >> Does he sense anything magical about it or does it seem incredibly wellcrafted? >> Does he have detect magic? >> Um, he has a whole bunch of stuff. What is it? All right, >> does have detect magic as a cantra. >> All right, go ahead. You do detect magic and do magic on it. It does have it does radiate uh a small amount of transmutative magic >> as in it could be transmuted or was transmuted. >> Could be either. Uh cantrip is really not going to give you a lot of uh a lot 00:23:45 of detail. It's just it does radiate a little bit. It does have uh have some insourcement to it and that ensorment comes from the transmutative school. >> Does it look like the the young the daughter from the portrait? You said >> what color eyes? Wasn't there something funny in the portrait with their eyes? >> No, it's just the mother's eyes. the mother's eyes was she was sort of like looking at the uh um at the baby in such a way that you know made her kind of 00:24:17 like seem weird. But in this case, this figurine has >> mama was >> this this figurine has small blue gems embedded in the glass. >> H >> Auda, give me a perception roll. >> Yes, sir. >> For for your trap check >> coming up. Let me just I can never find this on the It's a new sheet every time. I'm getting too old. Hold on. I'm sorry. >> Unless >> just as a reminder, Iggy has crafting skill. >> Okay. >> And glass is his specific crafting 00:24:49 skill. >> Gotcha. All right. >> I don't know what else he might be able to tell. >> Give me a uh >> a roll. >> Give me Yeah. Uh do you have a specific lore for glass making or glass glass? >> Yeah. >> Wing for crafting. Yeah. >> Give me a give me a lore check. >> Cool. Akuda, you do not see any obvious traps. The room is the room is looks like it has not been attended for a long time, but everything in it seems to be still being good quality. 10. As far as 00:25:18 you can tell, Iggy, the gl the the quality of the craftsmanship is quite good, although it's it's somewhat alien to the kind of craftsmanship, the glass craftsmanship that you're used to. This seems like it would be sort of a it's intriguing from the point of view is that it could be a different sort of school of thought of of figurine making when it comes to to glass making. Uh because it seems to have been constructed in a way differently than you would might have constructed something. 00:25:44 >> H >> okay. >> Do the contours of the figurine look really exceptionally natural? Really as though crafted by a a superb artisan? >> They do. In fact, it's very naturalistic, very uh very realistic um rendition of this young girl. >> Young girl. >> You would guess her like 10 to 12 years old somewhere in there. >> Human. >> Human girl. Yeah. >> Ignore that one last I just was testing doing it through the character sheet. >> Gotcha. Okay. 00:26:14 >> Um go ahead. Go ahead. >> Anybody know chopsticks? >> Maybe the fig May the figure maybe the figure dances. >> Oh, well again I used to play the horsepower in our punk bands. I think it's a person. It's a person in there. It's a person. It's a girl in there. And I bet she knows all the secrets. >> It's a person. Does anybody have any kind of spell to I don't know, undo, turn to stone, or I don't or >> that would probably be beyond most of 00:26:47 our abilities right now. >> Yeah. I mean, I don't know. I got I got a feeling this >> Yeah, you guys are first level characters. >> Oh, that's right. It' be kind of rude of me to give you something like that. >> Okay. >> But I do think we should take her with us. >> Oh, yeah. >> I would be happy to carry. >> I think unless you don't want to, I think you're probably the best one for handling something of that nature. >> No, I I definitely would like to keep 00:27:11 have her. I'm fascinated by her. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Um I will uh uh um gladly uh uh uh um let our um vitrius wizard take over. All right. >> I'm a witch. Darn it. Witch. I'm sure that anymore. Witch. Witch. Witch. I'm sorry. A witch. Witch. Witch. >> All right. So, witches are cool. Uh, >> firstly, uh, so Dan, um, Iggy, as you reach out to, I'm assuming you reach and pick up the the thing, right? >> Absolutely. >> Okay. So, give me a quick dexterity 00:27:44 check. >> Okay. Again, I'm going to try to do this with my character sheet. All right. >> Suspense is killing me. >> 18. Yeah. >> 18. All right. So, yeah, as you reach it, you reach out to grab it and your your hand just barely touches the thing and it begins to sort of rock back and forth on the top of the thing. Um, you immediately, I mean, you reach out and you grab it quite quickly uh to keep it from falling off. If you immediately realize that even the slightest amount 00:28:19 of playing of the harps accord or having jostled the harps accord in any way would have caused that thing to fall off of there. Even even though at first glance with the way it's shaped kind of like sitting on there seems like it would have been it seemed at first glance it would have seemed like it would have been made for something like this. The reality is not even the slightest. It would have fallen right off of there onto the floor. >> And as now that you have it in your hand, you realize that it is hollow 00:28:43 inside. uh and that the glass is quite thin. >> Oh wow. >> So the likelihood is if it had fallen to the floor, it probably would have shattered. In fact, as you as you begin to think about carrying it, you probably want to you you you realize pretty quickly that um you're going to have to take special care with this to make sure that it's not it doesn't get accidentally crushed. >> Okay. Um, if if you if you like Iggy, um, I have that u that bolt quiver from the crossbow from downstairs. We can 00:29:18 empty the bolts out. That kind of gives you a hard >> case. You put backing in there and and maybe >> transport it that way. >> Can I have some silk for my robe I can wrap her in? >> Well, you probably want something a little beefier than, you know, something cushy, though. >> That's what I mean. Yeah. like a lot of silk wrapped around it inside the >> there's kind of you know that way you have at least a little tougher skin around it. >> So go ahead and write that down and I 00:29:48 will I will remove it >> or we strap it to the monkeykey's back. >> Well, that's an option. >> That's an option. >> A little can be a little rambunctious. We probably don't want to strap anything to her back. >> She might get jealous. Grill to Grugilda to your question. Uh there are a series of chairs uh like stuffed cushion chairs around one theoretically could cut open the cushions on one of them and extract the the batting. Uh that might that might serve the purpose that you're that 00:30:16 you're thinking of. >> There's also the there's also the red curtains on the on the >> Yeah, I was going to say there's also drapes you could cut. >> Well, there's rat carcasses, too. They're real cushy. >> I'll go for the stuffing from the seats. Thank you very much. >> Uh less I'm gonna open the harps accord. >> Okay. You're just going to open it. Open up the door. >> Open it up and look across the >> Take it. Uh take a uh So, give me give 00:30:43 me a quick perception check. >> Perception. >> And is the stool one of those stools that flip up that you put the sheet music in? >> It is. Yeah. It's padded on the top though. 15. Yeah. So, you open up the thing and it opens up and it's it's been a while since it's oiled, but yeah. Everything inside the harps accord, all the hammers, all the all the strings seem to be if not necessarily in good working order. There is some corrosion. There is a fair amount of dust. 00:31:09 >> They're complete. >> They're complete. Right. >> Um, and you're saying you want to look in the in the chair >> in in the bench seat. You open up the bench and you do find a few uh a few pieces, not very many, two or three uh pieces of parchment which do have um which do have uh music notations on them. >> I don't know if you if you have any music skill or perform skill in in uh something like that, but >> Well, it's got to be punk music. That's 00:31:34 >> it's got to be punk. Yeah, it doesn't look like punk music. >> Um this might help uh uh cushion uh your your your package. You could crumple these sheets up and put it down. That's a nice crumple zone. We learned about that in the Orcs physics class. >> Orc physics. >> I'll I'll put the lid back down. >> Okay. >> I'll pull out the pieces and let Iggy observe those too and see if a he wants to use them for that and or anything else. >> Okay. I'm just writing down we learned 00:32:06 about that in orc physics class. >> That's going to end up on the internet later. >> So, all right. Uh other other things it uh it does uh as a as a cuda will tell you um there doesn't seem to be a great deal of um the dust has not been disturbed in here. So if there's anybody in this house uh they're not coming through here. >> Gotcha. >> And as I come toward the fireplace >> Mhm. >> is it clean? Are there ashes? There are no ashes in the fireplace. It has been 00:32:43 cleaned out. Uh there's also no wood or anything in there either. So whoever would at whatever point the people who used to live here, the Durst family, one assumes, um left this place. Uh it wasn't in the middle of a party. And there's no there's no painting on the on the mantle of the fireplace. >> No paint uh no uh no painting on this one. No. >> It looks like there may have been some sculptures on the mantle at one place. The dust there are voids, not voids per se, but um there are certain sort of 00:33:27 gaps in the level of thickness of the dust on there. It looks like there may have been some small statuary or um you know it's possible that smaller paintings might have been in in those like L-shaped racks that kind of in there. There's a variety of different voids. >> And do we look under all of the chairs just to make sure? Are they like skirted chairs or they just legs? >> Uh they're legs with some very low handles. Uh back chairs. They're sort of Queen Anne style. Uh you could sort of 00:33:59 see them in the in the thing where they have this sort of circular uh almost like clamshell kind of chairs with the the little things. They are uh they are uh red in color although red is quite faded over time um and do seem to be um uh both identical to each other uh and of fairly decent quality. I mean these were these were these were well-made chairs. So Gilda would like to look out the window and sort of if the if the drapes are closed, she would use her sword to sort of gently not cut them or anything, 00:34:30 but just to shift them to the side so she can have a look out the window. >> Okay. >> Uh as you look, you do see that it is a window uh and you can see quite easily out out to the um to the uh front steps. The window itself is locked uh but it seems to be intact. Give me a quick uh perception check. >> 17. Uh as you sort of pull back uh the thing uh you know the curtain and sort of look out on the window. It's still daytime outside as well as much daytime as can be had in the mid midafter 00:35:11 afternoon of of Valaki in in Bovia. So which means it's it's cloudy. It's dim. But something catches your eye as you look out onto the street. You can see that there is a person out there standing in >> by >> Well, it's you can't tell from this distance because they're wearing some sort of cloak. Uh and their face is obscured. >> Black cloak. >> Uh black cloak. Yeah, >> at least it looks black from this this area. It's qu It's probably the house is 00:35:40 set back on the lot. So, it's probably 80 feet to the to the street where this guy is standing. uh from your from your vantage, but uh he's just sort of standing there uh and he looks like at least to your eyes, he is facing the house. He does not seem to be moving at all. He's just standing there sort of looking at the house. >> So, in my inventory, apparently last week when or two weeks ago when you said there was the cloak room with the cloaks and they didn't match >> like the children's sizes, they were all 00:36:12 like adult sizes. >> Correct. I put one in my inventory like I'm wearing it. >> Okay. >> So, if the person were to see me, they would see a cloaked figure. But also, I will like just step to the side. >> Okay. >> And let the the the curtains go back and then I will tell everyone that we are being watched. >> Okay. So, as far as you I mean, you probably looked at this guy for about maybe 10 seconds uh that you had it and you didn't it wasn't like you threw open 00:36:46 the curtains and sort of like peered outside. Um you sort of like, you know, pushed him aside and sort of looked out there. In that 10 seconds though, the guy did not seem to move at all. Just stood there, stock still, staring at the house. You couldn't tell if he was staring at you or the house itself or the front door. I mean, you couldn't see his eyes. You couldn't see the the in which way he was facing, but he didn't move. >> Hilda, how far did you say he was from from from the house? 00:37:17 >> 80. What was it? 80 feet because it's down and >> about 80 feet. >> You want me to shoot him? >> Wow. >> Yeah. If you remember, the house is sort of like so you're down like this. So you can see that. So the street in this in this image is sort of offcreen to the souththeast. >> You're looking out what is probably this window right here. >> Okay. >> If this is like Boulders Gate 3, I get better range at a higher height. >> Oh, that's right. 00:37:50 >> Hustle down the stairs and >> oop, sorry. >> No, my range is 120. That's That's well within the range. >> Well, >> no, you mentioned the height thing. Remember, you use a pike from like 10 ft up and it's like doubles the damage. >> It's um you know, it's a great track uh tracking technique. Then he takes off running. We just follow the blood trail. >> I hate to say it, but there's probably more than one blood trail in this part 00:38:16 of town. >> The fresh There's so many blood trails. Which one do we follow? >> The fresh blood trail. Uh, sure. >> You tell me. I'll I'll I'll I'll take >> Leave him be for now. I think we could try to intercept him, but like we run downstairs and go out the >> It's It's not worth it. He's just going to run away. Let's just keep going through the house. >> Okay. >> Anybody check out the the big big uh what is that? A harp in the middle. 00:38:49 >> Mhm. That's a harp. >> I didn't check it. That's a great cheese slicer if we need it later. >> Got a harp. Is there a >> Guinness there? Uh, the harp, you know, like the harp is very much like, and I should say this, this is wrong. It's very much from a standpoint of age and quality. Very much like the harps accord in that it doesn't look like these have been taken care of uh in any real way for over a decade. Covered in dust. There's corrosion on the wires in the harps 00:39:19 accord. the harp wires, at least one of them has come significantly loose and is sort of like dangling down and sort of bent, you know, kind of thing. Uh, it's almost certainly none of the neither of these these instruments has been tuned or cared for in every way in any real way. Um, in fact, if anything, the harp is showing more evidence of disuse than the harps. And it may just be just mere for the fact that harps require more care. Okay. >> Well, unless there Unless somebody thinks of something else. Let's go try 00:39:54 some of these other doors. >> Yeah, we might as well go to the other >> I'm just going to peek out this window again and see if that guy's still out there. >> Who'd we lose? We lost Dan. Uh oh. >> Oh no. He said he said >> he said we might. Yeah, >> he's under the flood. >> Okay, so you guys go back out into the uh reception chamber. Well, Dan's character moved. Or did you move him? >> Oh, he's still on the I didn't move him. 00:40:30 He's still He's still in roll 20. It could be just his zoom went kabork. >> I I'm here still, too. Uh what was that for a second? Sorry. >> No worries. No worries. Akuda Seline is unbreakable, my friend. All right. So, where are you guys going next? >> There's two doors here across. >> Three doors. >> Oh, yeah. >> Well, two two straight across. >> Yep. Yeah. And the double doors are sort of like a matching pair. The northward and the south one. 00:41:02 >> All right. So, you guys going to go in there? You guys can open them. They are unlocked in this case. >> Should we Oh, okay. No, looks good. >> Okay. Should you uh go in there? I'm just going to move move my light source so that people who are watching at home. >> Look, it's the CD storage. >> Hello people. Uh can see what we're looking at. All right. So, basically when you walk in here, this is very different uh from the ballroom to the south. Um this is more like a private 00:41:30 office or library. You can see off in the uh off of the at the northernmost end of the um of the room, you can see that there was a large desk uh with a chair and some papers on it. Uh there's a couple of of easy, you know, comfortable upholstered chairs near the fireplace. Uh but most striking is the shelves of books that line the eastern wall. And then there's another section of uh of of library books uh that are sort library books uh of books that are in shelves here uh sort of there. There's another 00:42:05 there's a little ladder. They go all the way up to the ceiling of the of the room and there's a little ladder here that's sort of one of those slidy ladders that goes back and forth. Very cool. Uh but there's a boatload of books. Uh some of them are scattered about. There's like a little workt over here that has books laid out on it. Uh but most are uh in racks uh you know in in racks in the web. Your guess is probably there's close to 2,000 books here. >> Wow. >> Wow. And are they do they seem to be 00:42:32 written in in in common or other languages? >> So you have seen precious little um uh sort of written material since you come to Bovia. So um do you have any linguistic skill? Is that a skill in Pathfinder 2? I think it is. >> I have no >> It's probably not. >> I say Zezy. Look. Hard bound toilet paper. >> That's it. >> Taking some with me. >> It's It's in travel volumes. That's That's very >> very nice. >> Adventure packs. 00:43:10 >> What is this? Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys. >> Uh there is a trait. Uh, no. There's no linguistic skill. Okay. So, um, what languages do you speak? I'm assuming >> common and dwarven. >> Common and dwarfish. Okay. So, as you if if you're going to go ahead and flip through a book or two and just sort of check these things out, your first glance is like, this doesn't make any sense. But as you sort of peruse these materials, you realize that it does seem to be after a minute, it does seem to 00:43:41 bear a resemblance to what would be considered common. Uh now I would say that that resemblance is in large part similar to the resemblance between modern English and old English. Meaning that you could probably puzzle out some of the words, especially if you like say them out loud. Um but that the script and the words themselves are are strange to your eyes. >> Wow. And but the books, do they look that old? I mean, >> um it depends on the books. Some of them look comparatively recent. uh you know 00:44:16 their bindings aren't cracked. Uh the leather is still quite supple. The pages are not fractured or fragmented. Other parts there are other books here that do seem to be quite old. Um and in some cases real uh and you can see that in certain cases there is dust next to the books and I mean not not dust but like page dust where the pages are disintegrating a little bit underneath the book and and in many cases these are books that haven't been consulted. Um, but this definitely gives the vibe to 00:44:44 you that this is a working library. >> Does there seem to be a a filing system? >> Uh, there doesn't seem to be anything specific. I mean, they're not in alphabetical order or anything like that. Uh, it would there may be an ordering system. It does seem to be it does seem to be quite tidy. Uh, so your guess is that there is an ordering system, but may have been the the person who owns these books put them in these certain categories based on maybe on the contents or something. 00:45:13 on the desk. >> Uh, not on the desk. There are some papers on the desk, but no books on the desk. There's another where Akudagawa is. Uh, and give me a perception check when you uh get a second. >> Yes, sir. >> Uh, Akudagawa. Uh, there's book there's open books on this area here and there's one sort of over here on a little middling shelf that uh looks to be close by. >> Big Iggy has got big book skills. >> Yeah, Iggy says he's got speaks seven languages and he's multilingual. So, 00:45:40 >> all right. Do you want to check out some of the You can check out some of the books at your convenience, Iggy. >> Yeah. Yeah, definitely. >> All right. So, Akudagawa, what did you roll? Oh, 24%. >> I think the cloistered cleric would be pretty wise in the ways of books as well. >> All right. So, Akuda, you at first, so first of all, you don't see anything that's obviously a trap. Uh although it would take you a little while to look through all these bookshelves, that kind 00:46:05 of stuff, but everything seems to be pretty much on the up and up. I don't see some of the sort of tangential kind of uh uh earmarks of like, oh, this is a trapped area, that kind of stuff. Um, one thing that you do see though with a 24 is that this book, this bookshelf over here on the very last edge seems to be on an angle. M >> and by on an angle as you're looking down this way, you can see that the edge of this shelf, right at this edge, seems to come out about an inch and a half 00:46:39 further than the shelf next to it. And it looks like it's on an angle. >> I'm going to sing out, "Hey guys, found a secret door." >> I was going to say, yeah, it might be a door. >> I think maybe we're jumping to conclusions here. It's probably not a secret door, he said innocently. Totally got my first secret door. First level. Ah yeah. Watch out. >> Killing it. >> Velcro six. Uh you you also ought to have some book skills, I would think. 00:47:13 >> Um >> I think I knew >> you probably got some book skills. All right. So those of you with book skills, >> a cloistered cleric for sure. >> Uh is there so Dan with your with your languages? Is there anything specific you want to do? And I know Tenzen, you're over by the desk. Is there anything you want to do? >> Uh, I'll pick up those papers that are on the desk. See if there anything. >> You take a look at those papers. >> Last notes or anything? 00:47:35 >> There does seem to be uh some of it looks like I mean again, how many what languages do you speak? I mean, common obviously, but is there anything else? >> Or an orc. >> An orc. Uh, well, it's definitely not an orc. But as you look at some of the papers, you sort of shuffle through them. One of them stands out to you because it has a seal on it in yellow wax. >> Well, this library obviously is not worth anything because it doesn't have the great orc poet like and Zik 00:48:09 >> and for some reason I'm showing you a blank screen. >> Yay. >> That's the Beatles white album. >> So, just one moment while I fix this problem. I could have sworn this was not supposed to be a a white screen. >> Well, then I'll I'll call Iggy over and fold it into a paper and toss it to >> I was see and flip it over. There you go. >> There we go. All right. Uh so you find so uh there's papers on there and there of various kinds of things. They don't 00:48:41 look very important, but as you uh go through them, you you as you're feeling through them, you feel this this seal on one of them. And as you kind of look at it, it takes you a minute to sort of puzzle through some of the weird old common, but it says deed of grant to Rose of Alda Rose and Thornbolt Durst, granting them all legal rights to the mill that has been in our family's uh prime uh uh uh our family's um private uh prim for generations. signed Gustav Durst and sealed with the seal which looks 00:49:20 like it's got a windmill >> windmill on it. Yeah. >> Um >> Iggy, can you can you uh uh kind of erase the name Roosevelt Rose and Thornbolt and put in Tenzen's name? >> Look what I got. This is as as loot goes. This could be pretty good. I mean, you know, >> hey, I'm a windmill guy now. >> Yeah. >> But yeah, this looks like for some reason that Gustav, the father, uh, signed over, deeded the this windmill that is the subject of their family heraldry and apparently a real place 00:50:06 based on the based on the painting in the other room. >> Over over to his daughter and son. But again, only one son is listed. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. See, they're treating Iggy Durst is not being listed. >> Iggy Durst. >> It's a scub. >> But yeah, I mean, it's a It looks It looks like a legal document of some sort. >> We'll roll it up and keep that. Somebody want to tuck it away someplace to >> I'd be happy to do that. >> Okay. 00:50:42 And unless my main goal is just to look like as quickly as I can for anything that I would consider rare or truly unusual. >> Well, there's a couple of books and I mean if you you get to the point where you're reading some of the names on them. In fact, one of them Yeah. >> Uh there's one set that looks to be >> well it's it's a large set probably well over a hundred books that are all bound together. And it says uh the the the the the thing on the book it says uh 00:51:14 consolidated library of bovian law and practice through the centuries and it says volume one and it goes up to about volume 130. So it's a big set of that. There are other books as well. As you look it says Bovian law and religious devotion says one of them. Uh one says law as an institution against the Vistani incursion. The vistani is a word you're not familiar with. anything not pertaining to law? >> No, it doesn't look like there I mean these all as you go through them increasingly as you become more familiar 00:51:46 with the sort of strange old common that you see here um it becomes increasingly clear that most if not all of these books deal with the legal profession. >> Okay. >> Hey Iggy, look at this 17 volume set over here. Something about Encyclopedia Britannica. It it's possible. I mean, it seems pretty clear that this was probably Gustav's office and that he practiced law. >> Do as we look around, do we see anything resembling, you know, chachkis that we thought there were chachki that maybe were missing 00:52:24 from the mantle in the in the ballroom. anything that looks like it could have been somehow moved here that it was the sort of thing that was originally on the mantle over there. >> Yeah, nothing like that. I mean, you do find a couple of things. The desk has a few items resting on it. There's a a silver candlestick. Uh a letter opener, uh a silver colored, I shouldn't say. It's probably not made of silver, uh but silver colored. Uh there's a jar of ink that is now been obvious, you know, 00:52:53 obviously very uh you know, dried up and and crackled inside. a couple of quill pens and a and a and a pen knife. Um, you know, if you open up the drawer, uh, there's only one primary drawer on the desk and it has just a a stack of parchment. There's probably a dozen sheets in there, but nothing that looks like it would have been on the mantle in the ballroom. >> Is there is there any of the wax in the seal? So, we can start making our own uh >> Yeah, there you go. >> windmill sign off on 00:53:22 >> laying on the side of the desk is a small seal that has the windmill sign on it. and uh and and sort of laying next to it is a couple of sticks of um of yellow uh yellow wax. A couple of bars of it. >> Le I'm going to make an assumption that this this uh Durst guy was a megalomaniac because there's not a trash can here. So make any mistakes. >> He never made a mistake. He was that good of a lawyer. >> Does the seal have any wet ink? >> Like matlock. What 00:53:51 >> does the seal have any wet ink on it? No, there's no nothing wet on the seal. Uh there is some dried uh yellow wax, little burbles of dried wax here scattered here and there above the on the desk on the leather of the desk. Uh >> we don't need to we don't need to blow the seal. >> Hey, that's something personal for you, Velcro. >> No, it's just a little ice cream. >> That's something you humans do. >> But now the seal doesn't look like it's 00:54:17 been used for over a decade. H >> is there anything in there pertaining to the undead or uh in terms of in terms of like >> like among the books? >> Yes. >> Like uh Bartholomew's guide to the undead of local Bovia? No, nothing like that. These I mean you as you take a look around, you're help you sort of assist Iggy in kind of looking through the books. All of these books seem to be um related to uh related to the law. >> Okay. And then you I have scribing lure. 00:54:52 So I'm looking I'm thinking like are these books properly formulated, put together well. Did they start out with proper chapters? And >> yeah, generally speaking, I mean, you open up you flip open a couple of books and yeah, absolutely. Um, you know, they're all obviously handwritten. Um, but uh they do seem to be well organized uh in principle. You'll also notice in certain books, if you pull one out here and there or take a look at the books on the shelf, some of them are annotated uh 00:55:18 with certain notes in a different hand and one that you might assume it looks similar to the hand on the deed for the windmill. So, it's possible that if this is Gustav's office, and we have no reason to believe that it's not, uh that he has been using these books and annotating them himself. anything like >> the script looks the same >> like a diary or a manifesto or a register of like a personal diary. >> Seems like every book is a legal book. >> Yeah, it does. I mean, and to your eyes, 00:55:53 I mean, you go you go through I mean, if you take some time, take a couple of minutes to go through these books. This is a this is definitely a legal library there and you don't find anything that looks like a journal or not even anything like a calendar uh of meetings or anything like that. Um the the other pages outside of the deed look like some sort of written notes perhaps related to certain cases, although no names are used. So, it's always initials. J D FV uh S U you know that kind of thing are always 00:56:25 uh thing uh it's possible um you know there's a few notes of like contact ST about uh about the relation the uh property at at you know such and such a place um regarding legal you know structures and that kind of stuff that kind of notes nothing um you know obviously can >> anybody do I don't know what Pathfinder is like can anybody ritually cast tag magic >> sure >> yes I You want to try that and see if anything's up there glowing. >> Budawa, did you find anything in the 00:56:54 secret door to the secret treasury with all the secret money >> with the secret purples >> and and yes, less I'll cast detect magic especially in the folk area. We have a 30 foot radius. I'll try to cover as much room as I can. >> Okay. >> In uh so in which are you looking in a specific direction? Uh in the library area. >> In the library area. Okay. Uh so yeah, I mean you do not you don't the library area. Uh that's good. I like that. Um you don't detect anything uh that is 00:57:32 magic >> uh in that area. All these books seem to be mundane >> and they don't they don't emanate any any magical forces. You know, Velcro, it always amazes me how long these legal books tend to be since they're all filled with briefs. >> I like it. >> I will try again in the desk area. >> Okay. Uh, detect magic. >> Yep. >> All right. So, at first you think, there's nothing here that radiates magic, but then you see a little bit of minor magic from the letter opener. 00:58:10 uh which is small and seems to be made of some sort of silvery metal. Your uh your experience so far here has tell you that it's probably not made of silver. Um but if you look closer uh it does look like maybe it is the candlestick which is also silvery in color. The closer you get to it the the sooner you realize that it is it is polished pettor. Uh, it's not silver, but this >> the letter opener might be >> But the letter opener looks like it might be at least partially maybe a 00:58:41 silver alloy. And it does have just a a sort of minor uh incorment to it. >> Can I uh try a craft skilling on it again? >> Sure. >> And just in case. So you have the list of my languages now too. >> I do. Yes. back to >> they're speaking in silven. >> I like to talk to the trees. >> Gilda wants to sort of do the same thing. Push the use keep her hands on her sword. >> Push the um >> the drapes to the side and just look out the glass and make sure it just all 00:59:23 align. But also, she's looking to see if there's any more black robed people. Like, if somehow the guy was only on the front side, or is there a whole bunch of them? >> Okay. All right. So, you open up uh you open you pull back the curtains and you see that there's a series of four uh in this case, four windows uh that all look out to the rear of the of the uh of the house. Um these are the windows, the second floor windows that Akuragawa saw when he did that when he did that circle 00:59:50 around the house when you guys first arrived. Um they are locked uh and uh but you can see out you do not see any people out back on a 19 crafting skill. Looking at the knife, you do suspect that this is a made of a silver alloy. It's not 100% silver, you don't think. Um but it does seem to be an alloy of some sort. And it does look like it's been in sourc. You're not entirely sure how this is not necessarily your area of expertise. Um but uh it does seem to have some sort of magic instilled within it. Now that may 01:00:26 be related to the alloying process itself or it might be some sort of ensorment that might make it I don't know. It's a letter opener which means it's about 5 in long. It has a it has a blade on it and that blade is sharp but it's it's small. >> So it could be used as a weapon. >> It could be used as a weapon. Yeah. >> Give it to uh give it to the thief. >> Okay. You want this dude? >> Regilda, your question. Do we see any glass figures like the one that was on 01:01:00 the harps accord? We do not. Um, this place looks fairly utilitarian. In fact, there's nothing on the mantle >> uh by the fireplace. Nothing at all. >> Uh, including no voids. This is honestly it gives every indication that this is a very a very well-appointed uh workroom for a for for a lawyer. >> A fairly successful one based on the I'm sorry. Go ahead. >> I'm sorry. Oh um did I find anything behind the bookshelf? >> Uh have you have you did you try and 01:01:36 move it? Well, I did move away gently all the books. >> Okay. >> So, the first step was to respectfully and um Akuda actually respects books. He's going to um carefully move the books aside and he's going to uh um nose around. Does the shelf move? Does it um wobble? Does it uh do do anything like it should not do? >> Give me a quick perception check. >> Yes, sir. I can do that. Let me Where? Where? I just move my thing. I lose this every time. It's kind of weird. 01:02:15 I swear my brain is going. Where'd it go? I'm sorry, guys. Wait. Proceed. Here it is. Ah. >> Did that work? >> 12. >> All right. So, you first the first thing you do is just try to uh sort of capitalize on the angle of the bookshelf and try and move it forward gently without maybe toppling it over, but you find that it doesn't it doesn't move. It's like maybe attached to the wall or somehow it's prevented from moving. It does have a little scooch if you push it towards the 01:02:44 wall. It does have a little scoochum and will push back towards the wall, but if you pull it away, uh, it gets to about that inch and a half area and then stops. >> You begin pulling the books off gently off of the thing. And it takes a minute, but by the time you get to one of the middle shelves, there's one book off to the left side that's bound in red leather covered in dust, but it doesn't have any title on the on the thing. When you get to that, you remove the books from from around that from around that 01:03:13 red covered book, and you can see that it seems to be attached in some way to the back of the shelf. Everything else moves, but that one when you bump it, it does not move sideways or anything like that. >> That's cool. Um, may I please check for traps? >> Absolutely. >> I'm going to do that. >> 23. You don't see any traps, but your guess is that this is probably some sort of mechanism. >> Okay. I'm going to try to maneuver the book. I'm going to be careful. I'm going 01:03:41 to pull, push, lift, >> whatever. It takes you a couple of seconds, but eventually you pull the top of the book forward and you hear behind it a sort of like noise, a clicking noise, >> quite loud. That seemed not quite loud, but I mean audible certainly coming from behind the bookshelf. >> That's probably the latch. >> Okay. Um, guys, I found the vampire. Get ready. >> Your clothes is right there. >> I found the vampire. >> You're going to turn into the boy who 01:04:13 cried wolf. He's hiding behind the books. The bookshelf. Okay, get ready. I'm going to um >> open the secret door. >> Okay, you pull this and the bookshelf comes after you've removed that that red book, the bookshelf now moves further than it kind of just goes and it opens up like almost like a door. So, it opens to the left and sort of faces the window as you kind of push in there. Uh and when you do, it opens an area that you can see. It looks to be some sort of small and it's just a it's just it's not 01:04:44 a door or anything. It's sort of a doorway uh that you can walk through that's behind there. As you go in there, you see a couple of things. >> So, this the bookshelf rolls back uh and and sort of you see uh inside looks like a almost like a closet. It's got cluttered shelves. uh you know there are some um there are some books set aside on these various shelves and these books look like they are in far more dilapidated condition than the ones in the library itself. Uh in fact if anything there are papers 01:05:19 sort of scattered around. Those papers are crumbling. A lot of dust in here. A lot of book dust. Um, but the thing that gets that gets you the most interested is there seems to be a skeleton sitting on the ground in front of a black wood chest >> uh at the other end of the uh of the closet. >> Okay, this is going to be trap city. >> So, um, watch out. Um, let's I'm fascinated. I'm curious. I look around. Um, is it really really musty in here? >> It is absolutely musty. And uh um you 01:06:00 know it it's >> lots of dust. >> Yeah, a lot of dust. Uh and um the thing so the guy it looks there's a guy he's got some clothing on uh which looks to be sort of leather armor. Uh the black chest seems to be partially open. He's sitting down and facing you guys. Um, but he's sitting there and he's just sort of like the head is kind of like clocked like this and he's got he's got like a leather jerkin or leather boiled leather armor kind of curass on. Uh, and 01:06:34 but the rest of his clothes is sort of like, you know, sort of dilapidated and nothing. >> Can you see anything like sticking out of his body like a arrow or a knife or a >> uh It's possible. Um, you could you could run up there and take a look. >> Well, can I first uh search the whole place for for traps? >> Absolutely. >> Thank you. I just I want to just clear the room. Hold on for a second. Uh oh my god, that's terrible. >> Yeah, no traps. Looks pretty safe in 01:07:03 here. >> My rolls today are so bad. >> Gilda, you think you're >> You think that skeleton is definitely human sized? Sorry. Go ahead. Your rules are Yeah. Sorry. >> I'm just so so bad. Oh my god. All right, >> everybody. Everybody gets a one. >> Cleric, do you have anything you can help him with on that? >> Yep, absolutely. I'll go over and I'll grab the foot of the skeleton and drag it out of the way for him. >> Okay. Uh Dan, let me know if she uses it 01:07:28 at any point. Uh what >> I'm doing it right now. That's why I moved her in there. >> Okay. Uh give me perception check on her behalf then. >> Okay. Is that in my character sheet? Can I switch to her to do it? If not, you can use yours. >> I bet it's in here. >> Yeah, Cuda, if you need me to before you try something, I can cast guidance. >> Thank you. >> That was Failen. >> Okay, >> got it. Got it. Thank you. >> I'm sending you a message, 01:08:04 >> but you got But you got to give me a heads up. I will >> see that. Yeah. Okay. Uh All right. So, uh Akuragawa, you don't see any traps. Yeah. >> Um Grugilda the I mean it's possible that it could it's about the size of a of a human. Uh and the pelvic structure looks like it was it was male. Um so I suppose it could be uh Gustav Durst. Um, it's wearing it's wearing uh um you know uh what looked to be leather armor and there is a small metal hatchet next to 01:08:43 it on the floor >> like a like a hand axe or something like that. >> Le I wasn't kidding. Tenzen says if I could help him out I go over and grab the skeleton by the heel and pull it out of pull it pull it back. >> All right. So you're grabbing the skeleton. You're just dragging it away from the thing. >> Yeah. >> All right. and bringing him out into the into the library. >> Well, I I'll I'll just I'll slide him back right now in front of this other 01:09:09 bookshelf. >> Okay. Uh >> and that way clears clears the chest for for Akuda. >> Okay. So, you bring him and so you bring him over uh to there uh and just sort of drag him around and uh it seems uh he just there's he doesn't move or anything like that. You just drag him over and he's just lying on the ground and you know in his skeletal in a skeletal manner. >> Yeah. >> No rings or anything. No signance on him. >> Nothing like that. Give me a quick 01:09:38 perception check though. You two ten if you're looking at him. >> All right. 15 for Tenzen, 22 for uh uh Xanderas. Um, so Tenzen, you can't see him, but Xanderas is you're sort of like eyeballing the thing for potential loot. And Grill, I'll get to you in a minute. Um, you notice uh that there there are some you do you do have a quick uh uh glint in the darkness where you see metal. Uh and you look down and what you see are three small probably 2 in long and maybe a quarter inch wide at the widest little 01:10:24 darts of metal. >> One is stuck into a rib. Another one is stuck into uh the ulna on the armbbone and another one is stuck into the pelvic bone. They're all on the same side. >> Okay. >> Set off one is possible that it could have happened had the guy put his hand up like this. >> Yeah. Seems to be all that the chest may have been trapped >> at one time and and done its job. >> All right, Gruilda. Uh there doesn't seem to be any badges on the armor. In 01:10:56 fact, you're kind of struck by the lack of accutraants on this person. So, um there is the evidence that it was wearing some sort of uh you know, some sort of um pants of some kind. There are the remnants of you know, some leather uh moccasins or some sort of shoe on its feet and this boiled curass which is in pretty good shape. The rest of it is in pretty bad shape. Um even the curass is open. Uh so that's in this case the one the the dart that is in the rib is visible only because the the um the 01:11:28 knottings that would have tied it together come undone and sort of exposed the chest cavity. Um so you can see that >> is the is the leather armor serviceable if somebody would want to use it. >> It's old but yeah I mean a humansized person could probably put it on. >> Okay. Uh, it would serve more as a because it it opens in the front and was tied with um with sort of lacing. Um, and those laces have rotted away quite a bit. So, you would need to take some rope or something. 01:11:58 >> I'm going to drag the whole thing out and bring it over to our our cloistered cleric and say, "Hey, I thought I found you some vestments." >> Thank you. >> Work that way. Well, he says he's a cleric, but I don't see how he can do his his blessing duties in that room. >> All right. So, you drag him out into uh into the library. Uh and Xanderas, I'm assuming you're out in the library as well. >> Yep. I just drug it out to him. >> Drag it out there into to Velcro. So, 01:12:31 I'm going to put you Yeah. Right about there. Um and you know, they're like, "Hey, Velcro. I I got a treasure. I got I got something for you." And you know as it clackity clacks around >> Xanderius Tenzen and Velcro give me a quick perception check. >> Akudagawa what are you doing while they're doing all this this >> I am just well first of all I'm I'm sulking >> I'm I'm sulking a bit. Anyway um I'm I'm gonna um Did we move the skeleton? Yeah, I do. 01:13:08 >> Yeah, the skeleton's been dragged away. It's still on the map. Uh because I can't It's It's part of the map. >> I see. I see. Okay. Um and we have searched the skeleton. >> Yeah, pretty pretty much. >> Okay. >> Not much to search. Yeah. Go ahead. >> Did we open up that um chest? >> Nope. Nope. But I did tell you that uh >> we think it was trapped at one time because I saw some darts. >> Gotcha, boss. Okay. Um when we are 01:13:33 ready, I can try to disarm the trap. Well, I think it I think it's probably already discharged. >> Oh, Auda last words. >> You also see after So, Accuda and Iggy, you guys both as as um as Xanderas sort of drags the skeleton out into the out into the the thing. You kind of watch him go and then you look back over the thing and there is a piece of paper sort of that you could you didn't see it earlier because it was underneath the skeleton, but it seems to be sort of up against the chest. There seems to be 01:14:06 some sort of, you know, an open scroll or something like that. >> That was Failen for me. So, she's just gonna point at it and go, >> "Okay, awesome." >> And Liz, I moved over by the books because while all this is happening, he's gonna search for books that aren't about law. >> Gotcha. Okay. Uh, Tenzen, uh, you don't see much of anything. Then Darius, however, as you get as you get this skeleton dragged out and you sort of throw you dragging it by its leg bones 01:14:37 and you sort of just like drop it to the ground in front of in front of Velcro and say, "Here, I brought you a present." As you're as you're sort of looking over, you look over at its hand and the skeleton's hand kind of twitches a little bit >> and then it sort of outstretches >> and you can see the bones begin to do that. And then it looks around and it starts to it starts to sort of look for the thing. And by now it's toes and hands are beginning to move either also. 01:15:06 And at that point it sort of like sits up and looks around like this. And you can see that dark red pin prick eyeballs of a undead skeleton as it sits up and leans forward and tries to bite Xanderas on the leg. >> I was going to say I think I would love it if I saw it moving. >> It happened very quickly. >> Where is it? >> I don't think it's out here. It's >> like here. >> It's here. >> I can't see it. >> It's over here. >> It's actually right here. 01:15:37 >> Okay. >> All right. Roll for those of you in the library. Roll for initiative. >> Jeez. >> Got to find initiative. >> Now, is that Do we roll perception or do we roll the one that says initiative? >> Roll the one that says initiative. >> I don't see the skeleton. Am I going crazy? >> You're in the other room. [Laughter] Okay, boy. Plus four. Excellent. Excellent. >> That's what I get for fun. >> Did mine show up for you, Les? Because I 01:16:12 forgot to click on my uh >> uh No, it did not. >> It's 20. It shows up in the thing. It >> Yeah, but it's not in the turnover. >> Oh, wait. Hold on. We're doing initiative. >> Uh you're you're in the little little room. You You can if you like. You might not have noticed the >> Well, Failen probably would. I I'll do it for >> I don't think anybody screamed. >> Nah, nobody screamed. >> Oh, wait. >> All right. And so Tenzen got a 21. Okay. 01:16:52 Let me get you in there. >> I see it now. Okay. All right. Who am I missing? I'm gonna go ahead and roll. >> I'm missing Iggy and Audawa. >> Xanderas Tenzen Aurawa. Yeah, I'm missing a >> Kuba um is being piloted by an old man who can't find initiative. >> It's it's it's underneath perception. If it's >> I can't find that either. Get to the right less less the page halfway. >> Got it. I got you. >> Where's my computer? 01:17:32 >> Casting light at your face. >> Hold on. I I I am seriously trying to find the the um initiative. Uh oh, I've got There it is. Jeez. Okay. >> All right. Auda 17 seed and it and it went in. So, hey, there we go. All right. Let me uh uh and it's in order, too. How about that? That worked out great. Uh, all right. So, um, at this point, Audawa, and Iggy, I'm thinking you guys don't really know what's going on yet. The the skeleton is out there. It's just 01:18:02 sort of silently come to life. Xander spotted. Velcro, Failen, uh, Tenzen, and Gilda, both, all of you can see it as it sort of claws its way up. It's trying to get up. Uh, and it takes a quick bite at Xander. So, that's going to be its surprise round. So, we're going to just go ahead and do that. see what its bite is. Oh, dang. It has got Jeez Louise. Okay, it it bites pretty hard. Uh, so it's gonna go ahead and roll that >> for a little nosh 10 is going to miss you. Xanderas, I 01:18:34 suspect >> it will miss. >> Okay, so uh, and since it's surprise round, it's only going to get that one action. So now we go to the top. Velcro, you are first in line. This thing just sat up and tried to bite Zendarius on the calf. And it looks like it's scrambling around looking for maybe a weapon, which it does not find. Maybe it's looking for its old weapon. >> All right, I'm going to cast Divine Lance. See what happens. >> Divine Lance. What is it that even? I 01:19:03 don't even know. >> Sure to be fine. I think that the skeleton will love it. >> Divine Lance. Look at this. You unleash a beam of divine energy. Range spell attack on the target's AC on hit. 2d4 spirit. >> Double on a crit. >> I'm hitting cast, but nothing's happening. >> Okay, >> that's the difference between a war priest and a cloistered cleric under pressure. >> No, I mean like I the switchology is not working in the system. >> Cast cast 01:19:39 nothing. All right. Uh, something happened. >> There's something went. >> There it went. All right. So, that's the damage. What's your ranged spell attack? You got to make a ranged attack. I believe >> this is all up. >> That's strange. >> Yeah, it's a target one unleash. Yeah, you may range special spell attack. So, it might be under spell. I'm not looking at your 17 will 17 will DC. No, wait a minute. Hold on. It's Daisy. >> Oh, it's a DC. 01:20:10 Uh, Divine Lance 22 on the attack. All right, so that uh Let me check his AC. Yeah, that will definitely hit. >> Uh, yeah, that hits him. So, the Divine Lance smashes into him as he's scrambling around looking for what is probably the hatchet. Uh, and does five points of demage. >> I think it's I think it's divine. Uh regardless, he's a skeleton, so he's not in really a position to fight off any divine spiritual kind of things. >> Um you crash into him. It smashes into 01:20:41 him, crushes uh a great portion of his of his rib cage, blows out sort of a a portion of the spine. You can see part of his arm, shoulder blade is kind of destroyed. Uh he's he's very quickly falling apart. Bone chunks and shards fall to the ground. At least one of those darts falls to the ground into the rubble of his of his body. But as as you do that, he sort of is knocked back and kind of like now he pivots and looks at you, Velcro. And you suspect that you might be his next target. 01:21:13 >> Uhoh. >> Then I shall raise my shield. >> Ignatius, you hear the sound. Well, you're just right next to the door. Gruilda, you look backward. Grildilda is looking to the south. Uh, and uh, of course she's got her uh, weapon out so you but I mean that's no different from any other time. I mean Grug Hilda I mean when you guys were back at the blue water in Gilda was like standing around. She got an axe you know >> is that Italian beef >> was that all three actions? 01:21:45 >> Yeah. Yeah. I did a two action spell and then one action race shield. >> Okay. So he's got a shield up. Perfect. Uh, all right. All right. So, yeah, you see that you hear what sounds like at first a sort of buzzing noise and then the the sound of what sounds like bones being crushed. >> And and Failen has told me danger. >> What is Xanderas eating now? >> Look, free candy. >> It It does keep your teeth white chewing on bones. >> I move to that square. 01:22:20 >> All And when I see what it is, >> okay, right by the window, >> I cast um Oh, same problem. It's not coming up as a cast. So, I'll just tell you I'll cast disrupt undead. >> Okay, let's have a look see, shall we? >> That is Oh, >> it is a DC17 um fortitude save. >> Disrupt the undead, >> which I would never do. Is that a divine spell or is that a wizard spell? >> I'm not I'm not finding it. >> I can copy and paste it in. 01:22:58 >> I thought it was a cleric spell. >> Is it primal? Is it vitality? Is it like vitality lash? >> It is necromancy, but it uh does both >> uh it says it's considered primal and divine at the same time. >> Okay. Post it in the chat, would you? >> Yeah. Oh, the cast button isn't working. I'll have to work on >> I don't know why it's not showing up in nethys either. So, uh that's odd. Let's have a let's have a look at that thing. 01:23:28 Uh traditional you lance the target with energy deal 26 vitality damage. Okay. Uh so similar to uh so sort of similar to divine lance, isn't it? Uh in that you're sort of doing the same thing. All right. So I but in this case it's not a ranged attack. It's a fortitude save. So I have to make a fort. All right. My fortitude save my fortitude. >> It doesn't. Yeah, he's got a plus two on fort. That's not great. What's the DC on this uh beast? >> 17. >> 17. 01:23:58 Oh, there you go. >> Hot 17. So, I get half damage. >> Half damage. >> All right. So, go ahead and roll the 2C6. Might be enough. Oh, no, it won't be. So, half of three is one >> and he's still up. Although, he did not like that either. another big chunk like this one got him in the hip and it just sort of takes out a big chunk of that. So you see him sagging over like this and >> I'm going to have to get that replaced. >> Yeah, it's like ah >> he told me I was out of the way very 01:24:28 embarrassed by that spell. >> Okay. All right. So Iggy, you moved. And was that a is that uh a two segment spell? Two action spell? >> No, only one. But um >> one action spell. >> All right. So you're going to stang. >> All right. Tenzen energy flashing all over the place. This thing is coming apart right in front of you, but he's still on his feet. He's looking at Velcro. Uh, it looks like he's going to try and jump on him or bite him. What do you do? 01:24:56 >> Uh, I assume my stance. >> Okay. >> It's my wide stance. >> Mountain stance. >> Mountain stance. That is wide. >> And then I >> showing off his boulders. >> And then I flurry blow him. >> All right. Flurry of blows. I don't know. It's time to make friends now. But okay, >> that sounded good. >> 23 >> attack three unarmed mountain attack. Attack three. 23 will hit. Boom. All right. >> Why didn't it do damage? 01:25:22 >> I do too. >> That's always good. >> It might be. It might be that they're just the damage isn't entered into the character sheet. But if you want to just roll roll the damage. So you uh and so it's just one strike. If you're doing flu flurry of blows, how many hits do you get? >> Flurry of blows. I get two strikes is one action and they they add together. So if I have to do so much damage, both strikes add together >> like to go over a DC or >> Yeah. to go hardness. 01:26:00 >> I'm trying to see. >> So it is a two action. That's a two action activity. You make two strikes, hit the same creature, combine their damage. you. >> No, it's a single action. >> Uh, I think it says two. It's single action. Oh, it's a single. Okay. Yeah, you're right. It's I never They do those little images and I >> Yeah, those little square things are weird, but >> Yeah, because there's two squares, but it's one action. So, nice work, Piso. 01:26:23 >> So, should I just hit the thing where it says damage one by eight plus four? >> Yep. But hit do it twice. So, 11. I >> got I have to I have to swing to hit the second time. Okay. >> No, I think you just hit damage again. Yeah, I think for flurry of blows this. >> No, you have you had two individual strikes. >> Oh yeah, you do. You're right. You are right. Apply your multiple strike penalty as well. >> 16 is >> to map. Is there map? Does the map kick 01:26:52 in only when you since it's one action? >> H. >> Oh, it says even though it's one action, you you you strike twice. Yeah, but you still have to roll twice as flurry of blows. >> So it's two strikes is one action. >> Yeah, it's super fast like >> Yeah. >> Yeah. kind of thing like they do on those things. All right. So the second one is a 16 that actually also hits just barely. It's a 16 AC creature. So >> Well, it's 11 11 on the first one and 11 01:27:25 on the second one. So >> So 22 points of damage. He had two hit points left. Uh, so as you sort of step forward, you do your mountain stance, takes an action, then boom, ba boom, and basically you get him right in the face with a couple of huge hits and his skull just collapses. Uh, it, you know, a big poof of like skeleton powder kind of blows off in a in a big circle around where its head used to be and then the rest of the body just sort of like falls to the ground with a clatter. >> Um, bones. 01:27:56 >> The bone grinder. the bone grinder >> and it goes down right before Akuda was up. Akuda, you were just peeking through there and you could see danger's over. >> So, at this point, we fall out of a uh uh um >> initiative. So, Akuda, >> uh now that the combat is over, what are you going to do? >> Oh, let me see here. All right. Wow. Okay. I didn't even get a chance to um hurl an insult at the skeleton that that attacked my friends. You know, you know, 01:28:31 you don't just pop up and attack my friends. I will kick your butt. I'm a goblin. Don't mess with me. Anyway, I I got a dog slicer. I will dog slice the skeleton. Anyway, I'm sorry. Where was I? I'm a goblin. Oh, wait. >> You're in the You're still in the closet. There's a There's the chest is sort of partially open. Uh and that but at the bottom which was uh you realize was probably hidden under the seated skeleton before it came to life. Uh looks to be some sort of piece of paper 01:29:00 is lying on the ground there. Parchment some sort. >> Great. I will pick up the parchment. What does it say? >> Okay. Uh so uh you repeat it and it is a scroll. Now it looks a little bit damaged but it's two things about it. Obviously, it's not parchment. It's vellum. It's expensive >> uh material. Uh and two, it's written in some sort of red ink. >> Um and there it is. >> You sort of open it up a little bit and it says, >> "My most pathetic servant, I am not a 01:29:40 messiah sent to you by the dark powers of this land. I've not come to lead you on a path to immortality. However many souls, however many souls you have bled on your hidden altar, however many visitors you have tortured in your dungeons, know that you are not the ones who brought me to this beautiful land. You are but worms writhing in my earth. >> Well, okay. >> You say you are cursed, your fortune spent. You abandoned love for madness, took solace in the bosom of another woman, and sired a stillborn son. cursed 01:30:14 by darkness. Of that I have no doubt. >> Sir, save you from your wretchedness? I think not. I much prefer you as you are. Your dread lord and master Strad Vanzarovich. >> Well, that answers the baby in the arms. >> Yeah. >> And why the wife didn't like the Wow. Wow. [Music] >> Well, I'm sorry, Iggy. It seems that you are not the legitimate son. >> I'm I'm happy I'm not related to the guy. >> But But we can still change that deed. That's it. 01:31:04 >> I don't feel like going into the milling business. [Laughter] >> Any cool books? Um cool cool books. >> Yeah, among those ones. >> Yeah. So interesting as you peruse these these are written in a different language. It is not old common. Uh if anything it's it takes you a moment to recognize it because you were expecting to see old common. But in this case these are uh look to be let me make sure that you have this language. Infernal and Draconic. >> Uh these look to be in some sort of 01:31:46 variant of Infernal. Uh and as you sort of begin peering through them, you realize that these are treaties, old treaties on necromancy. >> Oh, there you go. >> Oh, how many are there? >> Well, there's a couple. They're in really terrible condition. Um, but they they're very old, somewhat dilapidated, but I mean theoretically portable. >> I think I have sacks. Did we already talk about that? I brought >> Yeah, you've mentioned you've mentioned your sacks on a couple of occasions. 01:32:19 >> I know. Sorry. It's very exciting. >> I'm going to carefully pick up the darts. >> Okay. Out of the out of the bones. >> Yeah. From the bones or wherever else. And then eventually give them to a coutagawa. >> Okay. Essentially, Accuda he hands you and there's three of them. They're about yay big. They're about uh maybe two to two and a half inches long. Uh otherwise unadorned. They seem to be made of steel. Uh and would almost be you could almost look at them as being like thick 01:32:46 needles. Um they're pointy on one end, flat and sort of chopped at at at the other end. Um they would be perfect for something, for example, a spring-loaded trap of some sort. >> Could he throw them or No. Uh, you could. They're not built for throwing though. >> If if you would, I mean, they would be they would be suitable for a spring-loaded trap, and they would almost certainly because of the weight, they're not very heavy. They would almost certainly have to be very short 01:33:15 range. >> Gotcha. Okay. Well, he can do what he wants with them. >> Is Xandarius still back there chewing on that beamer? >> I think so. Yeah. >> I'm going to grab the rest of the bones. I want to set it in the chair. >> All right. So, you can gather up the undestructed bones. Okay. keep a leg or an ankle or something cuz makes them harder to makes it harder for them to track us. >> I mean, we killed them once, but so did someone else. So, >> yeah. >> Well, I think um I think Tinsen outed 01:33:48 his head. So, >> yeah, he smooshed his head. He's headless right now. So, it's just a headless portions of skeleton that you put in the chair. We'll get one of the helmets off the uh armor in the room next to us and just put it on top. >> That would really mess with people. >> I was thinking more like take one of the books and tilt it up on there so he'd be bookhead. >> So you got a chest in there. >> You said Iggy picked up how many treaties? There's three three large books of uh 01:34:24 all written in infernal, all dealing with necroantic uh magic. They're quite thick, but they're also in quite bad condition, but not unreadable and not and not portable. Uh some of the pages have already been largely destroyed, but most of the books are you could you could sort of if you're careful, you can sort of bag them up. So, Auda, now I ask you, what about that chest? >> Okay. Well, I am gonna >> You might want to before you do anything, you might want to have one of 01:35:00 the clerks give you a um >> whatever you called it, Tom. >> Guidance. >> Guidance. There you go. >> I told him I'd be happy to. You just asked a >> I would be delighted. >> I would be honored and delighted to be guided. Um it because apparently I uh am Mr. Otter fingers tonight. So um if you could guide me, I will try to um uh open. >> Looks like you get to have plus one. Should I um check for traps again or um >> the >> the chest is partially open? 01:35:44 >> So, all right. Well, it looks like um a as uh Tom observed, it looks like there was a trap. It discharged. That does not mean there's not a second trap or the first trap might might recharge. So, I will check for traps. >> Okay. Uh, just >> remember there's a hatching or an ax at the ground. >> Perceive here. Um, and um, perceive 24. >> Oh, nice. All right. And plus one is 25. So that's pretty significant. All right. So you sort of peer into the you're very 01:36:16 careful about this thing because having seen the darts that went into the skeleton guy, you're thinking, man, I don't know. This is obviously was trapped. Um, you fiddle around with it and as you peer in and you're sort of taking uh, yeah, you've got dark vision, but you know, you're sort of like looking in from the side and that kind of stuff. And you do see what looks like a mechanism that would that to your eyes, had you had anybody lifted it up all the way, the mechanism would have 01:36:43 triggered and, you know, spring-loaded some things at the thing. It's almost certainly the darts that hit that guy. It also looks like it has been triggered. Um, so and and not reloaded. It doesn't look like an autoloader or anything like that. So, it looks like it's been triggered. >> Yes, sir. And um so >> I do see a couple of things in the chest as well. >> Okay. What's in there? >> All right. Well, there's a bag uh sort of tucked over to the left. And then 01:37:10 there are some books. Uh and it looks like some papers. >> You can't read them from here, though. H um I'm going to call over um people who know more about documents than I do. Guys, I found some stuff. It's it's a book it looks like. Um and some uh documents. >> Uh and >> where do they keep the good toilet paper? >> Anybody any more, you know, um any gold or gems, jewels? >> Not obviously. I mean, there's a little tied there's a little bag tied off uh 01:37:51 off to the side, but um you haven't you haven't pulled anything. You're still just looking. You haven't pulled anything out yet. >> Auda, there is a a hatchet on the ground by you. >> Got it. You know what? I'm going to just take all the stuff out of the chest and lay it on the floor. >> The papers. I'll take the papers. >> I will hand the papers to Iggy. >> Okay. and >> Iggy will look through them. >> All right. So, you uh so so there are 01:38:20 three books bound in black leather uh that you pull out and you hand to Iggy. Uh there are also some papers. It looks like um uh a another uh another deed of some kind. >> Okay, great. >> Uh and um and the bag uh does jingle when you lift it up and it is tied with a string. >> Gotcha. Okay, I I will hand off the book and the papers to Iggy. Hey, Iggy, what do you think of these? And uh I will uh undo the uh the bag inside the chest and look in. >> Okay. >> Uh so you want to look you're going to you 01:39:10 or Auda or you're going to look in the bag? >> Yes, sir. Uh, and then, uh, Iggy, you're going to review the, um, various, um, the papers in the books. Yeah. >> Okay. Let's do the bag first. Uh, Auda, you open that bag and you see nestled within 30 individual coins that look to be gold. Uh, they are um counted out in little and and sort of wrapped together in stacks of five. >> Yeah. >> Uh, and there are six little stacks that are sort of waxed together. >> Gotcha. Great. Can I just pull the bag 01:39:43 out and plunk it on the floor? >> Mhm. Absolutely. >> And I'll say, "Guys, found some loot. This will buy some ale." >> It definitely will. Gold gold goes a long way around here. So, uh you know, usually copper copper pieces. So, and and uh at least from what you've seen at the um at the uh Blue Water Inn, Electrum seems to be making an uh an undeserved resurgence in this area due to the lack of silver. That's because silver >> because there's no silver in it. Uh gold 01:40:13 probably goes a long way. And you do see that these are of Bovian mint. Uh meaning they have the symbol of the raven on on the reverse and the symbol of a very sardonic looking man on the on the frontest piece which you suspect might be the count. >> Oh. Oh. >> Very saturnine looking. H >> uh Dan um Iggy takes a look at the books. So the books at first as you as you open up they're large leatherbound books, wellmade. They do seem to be empty at first. The pages the pages seem 01:40:48 to be blank. Uh although the books themselves are of good quality, but as as you get to the rear of the books, you can see that some of the rearward pages uh on on all of the books uh seem to have some writing on them. In fact, you find four scrolls, uh, two in one book and one each in the other two books. Uh, and the spells are remove curse, protection from poison, >> and lesser restoration. >> Nice. >> And one of them is a detect illusion spell, which is not typical for PF2, but 01:41:23 it allows you to spot illusions if you use it. [Music] Second, >> what was the second one? Sorry. >> Uh, protection from poison. >> Protection from poison. >> Remove curse. Protection from poison. Restoration and something illusion. >> Protectusion. >> Protect illusion. >> Pierce the veil they call it in this book. Also underneath that you also find uh let's see make sure this is the right one. >> Compromising pictures of Mr. >> So you find one note compromising 01:42:03 pictures of Mrs. Dur. Uh she had a she had a Bovian fans. Um so one time you uh as you pull up and there's a couple of documents that seem to be wrapped together. One of them also has uh um a a seal on it, although the seal is in red rather than yellow. The first document seems to be some sort of note. Uh and it's in similar to the one that you saw earlier. In this case, it reads, "My dear servant, Alco Doir, since the Durst family has abandoned the house with no living heirs, the property has 01:42:41 been reclaimed by my estate. Enclosed, you will find the deed to the house that I'm sure you will agree is not only full payment for your poor, humble services to my estate, but also a deserving reward for your good deeds and charity to my beloved Bovian people and the church. Such a grand house, once renovated, of course, will certainly make you the envy of the aristocracy and perhaps someday soon grant you your rightful place amongst our number, your dreadlord and master, Strad Vanzerovich. 01:43:12 >> Whoa. >> Wow. >> Doir. >> Alco Doir. Uh, this note seems to be as old as the one you found before. And as you look through the thing, you also find another deed of similar of similar thing. Deed of grant of the house and property located at mansion on the hill, Bovia. Alco Doir is hereby granted. And then it goes into that kind of thing. And in this case, it's signed by Strad and the Raven symbol is etched into the uh is squished into the seal. >> Huh. Well, that's very fortunate. Iggy 01:43:54 Electro Doberman. >> They are just trying to put you in charge of all this name. >> That's That's wild. >> Let's examine the deed for like stains, ink stains, or any sort of like particles or unckemptness. >> Okay. Uh the deed itself, other than being old, uh seems to be fairly standard. You don't see any uh unckemptness. It doesn't look if you're if you're looking to try and see if it's a forgery. It doesn't look like a forgery. >> Okay. So, it's a it's not a dirty deed 01:44:28 and it's done not cheap. >> Oh my god. >> Sorry, I got one. >> Oh man, >> I'm on a stupid dad joke roll tonight, boys. >> You You were working for that one. I may have to take some experienced points away for that one. Um, >> I lose my inspiration. >> You're back to a zero level comeer. Uh, all right. But yeah, so those so yeah, you find a note to this Alco Dober uh essentially giving him the house, >> but you said it was the same age as 01:45:06 >> it looks to Yeah, it looks to be the same age. So on one hand, you've got a deed that was obviously written by Gustav Durst and signed by him, giving his children ownership rights to the mill, >> the old bone grinder as it's called. >> Uh, and in this case, you've got a deed signed by Strad, signed by the count, giving the possession of the house to this Alco Dober fellow. The weird part is both of those deeds seem to be approximately the same age >> as do both of the notes 01:45:39 >> and and nobody's been in here. So what do we know? This Alco Dober like have we heard him or maybe Iggy, were you here before? Have you heard of him? >> He's only here a matter of a day before us though. >> Yeah. No, I haven't. I don't think I've heard of him. I mean, you do you want make a roll less or >> No, it's not necessary. You haven't heard of him? >> Okay. Yeah, none of you have heard of this Alco guy, but apparently, at least based 01:46:07 on the note, he has done the count some sort of service. Uh, and in in re uh in in reward of that, the count has deeded him this mansion. Now, couple of things. One, the deed looks pretty old, as old as the deed to the to the to the windmill. Second, the notes look equally as old, the note that was sent to the Gustav Durst, you know, the sort of vaguely malicious sounding note, whereas this one seems quite >> cordial. Yeah. Not loving, but I mean obviously so it's very much a thank you 01:46:43 note uh from Strat. They're written on the same type of vellum and the same type of ink. >> Uh that sort of like maroonish red ink. >> Uh so there's that. Honestly, they talks about renovations and frankly you've seen this house. I mean, it would take >> it's not been renovated. >> It would take thousands, well, certainly hundreds, probably thousands of gold pieces to renovate this house to what you would consider to be livability or any sort of like comparable. I mean, it'll take a while 01:47:17 to get this back built back up. It's It's in pretty bad shape. >> It's a shame it burned down when we left. We don't even know if they have a fire pe group of people here. >> A fire department. >> All right. Who's Who's got speak with dead clerics? >> We are level one. >> Well, we can't speak with dead with the guy you blew his head off. >> Can't speak no more. >> Maybe he can force code some action or something. All right. But other than that, that's 01:47:58 that's all that's in the chest. >> Okay. >> Do we want to be crazy paranoid? Move the chest to see if there's anything under it behind it. >> Good. >> I will um I will see. Um is the chest super heavy? >> It's not that heavy, especially I mean there wasn't much in it. Uh, the chest itself is strong and well made. Quite large. Uh, >> big enough to fit a Kudagawa. >> A goblin. >> Yeah, maybe. I mean, yeah, I think he might not be happy about it, but I think 01:48:36 a >> hear me out. We got a new thing. It's a Kudagawa in the box. >> Just drag a chest around and every time somebody's like, "Hey, where you going with that chest?" Audaca jumps out. Surprise. >> Yeah. >> Then stabs a guy. >> Stabs them. Actually, not a bad idea, you know. Um, let's a question for you. You know, I should know this. How in Pathfinder 2, how tall is your average urban goblin? >> About 3 and 1/2 ft, I would say. >> Okay. All right. Okay. 01:49:06 >> Between three and three and 1/2 ft. So, they're not huge. Um, >> they're about puppet sized. >> Yeah. A football. >> Pocket size. >> Pocket sized. They'd have to be pretty for a frost giant, maybe. Um, all right. Anything else in that secret room? >> Um, I will move the chest just for grins. I'm sure there's lots of dirt and dust. >> Somebody pick up that axe. >> The hand There's a hand axe that's laying there in front. 01:49:32 >> Seems to be of of uh of of uh you know, common make uh steelbladed uh a little bit of a hammerhead on the back of the enemy. It's definitely a combat axe, but a small one. It's not a battle axe by any impression that it would be good for throwing either. It's weirdly balanced. >> Weirdly balanced. >> Uh you moved so Akuragawa, you moved the chest sort of out of the way and there does not seem to be anything underneath it. Um and it doesn't it also there's a 01:50:00 void in the dust. Uh meaning that the chest hadn't to your eyes it hadn't been moved for a long time. >> Okay, perfect. Gotcha. Thank you. >> All right. Anything else? >> Are we doing anything with those documents? Are you taking the the deeds, Iggy? Yeah, we we should I wrote them down, so we should take those. >> Yeah, take the documents. If no one has any objections, I will feed the uh spellbook pages to my monkey. >> Yeah, take them. That's what they're 01:50:28 for. >> Say that again. >> Spellbook pages to your >> I will feed them to the monkey. The monkey will eat them and he will then know them. >> Oh, the scrolls. >> Are are you talking the scrolls or spell books? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, actually, one of those is probably too high level to do that with, right? >> So, detect illusion as I think is a first level spell. Um, then the other one would be lesser restoration. >> That one I will not have eat. That's too 01:50:58 powerful. >> Uh, restoration. >> Yeah, it's just restoration. >> Remove curse and protection from poison. >> Okay. Remove curse would be cleanse affliction. >> Uh oh, that's uh toxins and maladies. Uh oh, it works for >> that. That's divine anyway, so I probably can't cast that one. So, >> it's divine, occult, and primal. >> Yeah, multiple. >> So, yeah, I'm working off of uh some old books, so um we may have to I may have 01:51:32 to do that. So, uh cleanse affliction uh is what it would be. It's a uh second level spell and it would be both um uh uh it would be essentially the remove curse. >> Uh protection from poison would be >> probably resistance. >> Uh maybe u certainly not Luna's life bubble. What the [ __ ] is that? Uh yeah, I'll have to get back to you on that. So, I'll fix those spells and get you better things. But yeah, I mean, it depends on if you want to feed her those. Uh I'll let you know. 01:52:18 >> I'll look them up and let you know. >> Cool. That sounds great. >> Still one door over here we haven't touched. >> Yep. >> I'm curious to see what the monkey poops out after eating snack. Yeah. He's magic >> and then he's going to fling it at their at your enemies. That's how that's how the spells get blocked. That's how the spell work. >> I think I think I might have to say good night. I'm so sorry. I don't >> Are you okay? 01:52:52 >> No. Yeah. Yeah. I I went to visit actually Eric Maria says hi. I went to visit Maria. She's in Florida at her at her parents house uh her parents' former house. And uh I drove up to North Carolina today, which was a long drive. And so I'm having a hard time staying awake. >> Oh, no problem. Understand completely. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, >> good night. >> It was fun. >> All right. We'll see you next time. >> Yeah. >> Take care. Good night. 01:53:22 >> Bye, Gwen. >> Good night. >> Bye, Gwen. >> Good night. >> Take care. All right. So, you guys now are checking out uh the other the other door >> door that's down here. >> Okay. Yes, >> sir. Okay. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. You know, it's it's kind of cool having two gigantic orcs here on our team. I mean, who would have expected I mean, I bet Straw is kind of scared. >> He's faced He's faced orcs before. All right, that door is unlocked if you want 01:53:55 to if you want to go in there and check that out. >> Yeah, >> I'll step forward and I'll open it. >> Cool. >> Okay. Uh yeah, so you see, and I'm just going to put this in here. Uh you see a large room. Uh basically, to your eyes, this is obviously some sort of servants quarters. There are minimal unadorned furnishings, including two rundown beds. Couple pairs of like sort of older foot lockers sort of at the foot of each bed. Uh there's a what looks to be a closet 01:54:24 door of some sort over here on the left. Um and uh you know you can see over here the uh uh the door of the dumb waiter is sort of standing open and you can see the the shaft. The dumb waiter itself is not there. There's a um there's a bell uh and a dumb waiter rope. Uh your guess is that either this would be you could both signal and receive signals for the dumb waiter here. >> Does it look like it goes down and up from this location? >> It does. Yes. >> Okay. Did we find you might be able you might 01:54:55 be able to throw >> on the bottom floor sh? >> Yeah, that's where it was sitting was in the kitchen. >> Gotcha. >> So, this this uh service quarters are right above the kitchen. >> So, a kudawa. We found an amusement ride for you. >> Yeah. Stick them stick them in there. >> Uh we'll check those foot lock the two foot lockers there. >> Let me check them for um traps if I could. >> Great. Thank you. I'm going to just uh do I do you want one roll for both or 01:55:24 >> one roll for both is fine. >> Yes, certainly. Uh I have lost my character sheet again. You know, I'm sorry, guys. I I'm just really uh having a rough time tonight. Let me see here. Here we go. Uh perception. Here we go. And >> get dad one. >> Oh, n daddy twanzo. All right. So, yeah, you uh you detect you don't detect any traps. In fact, uh as you could as you look at these, you would be surprised if they were trapped. They're obviously for the servants. They don't even have locks 01:55:51 on them. >> Gotcha. Okay. I just I just I've been kind of um just being very careful around here. >> Excuse gotcha. Okay. >> Very careful. Very careful. >> So, you pop in them. >> So, uh uh um what's in them? >> The first one that you open up doesn't have much. This is a few old sort of desiccated clothing. Uh you know, some personal items in the bottom. uh you know uh you know a small a small mirror, a a hairbrush, not nothing of any quality or anything like that. Obviously 01:56:22 certain same thing exists in the second one that you look at except for down along the side you see what looks to be a torn piece of paper. >> You pull it out. >> Yep. >> And you see this and it is torn. It is a torn piece of parchment. Nothing like the vellum that you've seen before. And it says, "Dearest mother, I'm scared here in this house. Though at times it can be bright and cheerful, and the master is gentle and kind, I have seen and heard things here that make me 01:56:50 question my sanity. I've decided to return home immediately. And no, it is." And that's where the thing stops. It looks like it has been torn off or torn in half at that point. >> Huh. Um, and in this case, the master would refer to Durst. >> Almost certainly. >> Okay. >> Sounds like match game. And now it is time for your blank. >> That's a blast from the past, isn't it? >> I'll step forward and open this side door here. Closet door. 01:57:24 >> All right. You peer in and it does look like a closet. There's a bunch of uniforms hanging from uh like, you know, servants uniforms hanging from the from the from the rack. Uh they're typically drab uh Bovian aristocratic servant formal wear, right? So just a regular drab thing. There are some black dresses with sort of gray sashes and uh you know lace collars that are sort of worn and that kind of stuff and yellowed. Otherwise, it's a dusty cobwebby closet. Doesn't seem to be anything of interest 01:57:56 in there. >> Okay. >> Plus, I'm going to take that small mirror and add it with my other mirror. >> Okay. Gotcha. It's Yeah, it's small. It's just a small hand mirror or servants mirror. Girl, a young girl's mirror. >> Yeah. >> And And nothing in that closet. >> Uh, no. Nothing nothing obvious. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Next place is up then. >> Yep. >> Do you want to move us all up? Because I think that's got to go to another. 01:58:28 >> You're gonna go up to the third floor. >> To the next level. >> All right. One second. Let me grab y'all. Okay, hold on. Oh, come on, you silly thing. All right, hold on. It's It's I tried to move it and I ran out of map and it wouldn't move the map. So, I got stuck in the middle and I'm like, I don't want to be stuck in the middle. All right, one second. Let me get Akuragawa. >> Iggy's up above him. >> And Iggy and Failen. Just grab IG. Bring him. God darn it. 01:59:15 Did it to me again. You did it to me again. And then Failen, where are you, girl? >> Uh, right above the uh book, sir. >> I got him. Okay. All right. Let me get you guys squared up here. I just kind of dumped you into that room. So, let me do this. All right. So, let's see if this works. There we go. >> Brilliant. All right. You guys come into a new room. Hold on a sec. Just light that up a bit. So, this seems a bit more open, uh, but smaller than the one you were just in. Um, 02:00:04 hold on one one second. Here we go. Um, so in this case, this is a balcony hall. It's it's a the staircase begins as you get higher, you can feel the staircase, the marble on the on the thing begins to creek a little bit as it carries you up to the third floor. Um, you know, there is uh uh you know, you're just kind of like looking over um in the in the uh in the over on the front ahead across from the the um the staircase. There's another one of those um armored suits of armor on a rack and it's just standing there. 02:00:45 It's a little bit differently styled um in that it's uh it's a little bit larger uh and this one does have on the chest plate it does have the image of the windmill. It also looks a little bit older actually that this the armor downstairs was more well I hate to say it but uh on behalf of Dur was probably more decorative. It did not have any insignia on it. This doesn't look decorative. This looks like it looks old, but this looks like maybe family plate because it does have the the 02:01:19 windmill sigil uh similar to the stylized version that was on the the code of arms in the in the entry hall downstairs. And it's just standing there. You do see a couple there's a little hallway over here. Uh and this looks like an open room, some sort of open doors. >> Is it also holding a spear >> right here? Uh and it is holding in this case it is holding I believe let me check um let me check just check uh it is holding a um it's holding a glaive in this case. >> Oh 02:02:00 >> a large glaive similar to how the spears were downstairs but sort of plunked in. You notice that that that glaive is not attached to anything on the stand. In fact, this Yeah, it's just on it's just standing on the floor. So, different from the ones downstairs. >> We do have a door to the south to tens down here. >> Yeah. And and then we got this open area over here, too. that the one you want to do first is this door here. >> Well, why don't we I'm gonna I'm going 02:02:40 to look in the uh open area. If you want to mess with that door or have somebody mess with that door, that'd be terrific. >> Zandarius, as you step forward towards that uh towards this this room right here and begin peering in, you have to step next to the um the armor. >> Okay. At which point Tenzen and the rest of everybody, Xanderas is sort of looking the other way, but the armor kind of goes as he steps forward and gets within five feet of it. The armorer goes, looks at Xanderas, the glaive comes up 02:03:12 and he swings it around >> at Xanderas. >> Oo, >> let's roll for initiative, shall we? >> Everything is attacking me. >> Oh my. >> A 29 to hit. That's a natural 19. It might be a potential crit. What is your AC? They do crits in this differently. >> Hang on a second here. I got to do my >> We're rolling the head for initiative. >> Initiative. >> My AC. >> He rolled the hit. We're rolling for initiative. >> Is is a 17. 02:03:43 >> 17. All right. So, a What did I roll? >> I rolled a 29. So, 17. Okay. So that is definitely a critical success. Uh hold on. Let me uh change. >> The the role isn't on the the screen. I don't see it. >> It's up above just below a Kudig perception. >> Oh, I see it now. Okay. >> Yeah. So that's critical success. So let's see here. Uh with a glaive. So, oh, it just um has different thing. All right. No, no, no. Why does it give me this? I wish they 02:04:36 would do a proper SRD for >> What do you mean? >> Uh, I got it. It's critical hits. I'm just on net this and I hate it. It's just stupid. >> Yeah. uh you achieve critical success strike you deal double damage. Okay, so in this case the glaive whacks you in the back and you're like that really hurt. Um and it is a glaive so it whacks you pretty hard. Crit success. In this case, it is D8. So, it's going to be D8 plus two doubled. That could hurt you. >> Yes, it could. 02:05:18 >> So, here we go. >> Three doubled is six points. You got lucky. Minimum damage. Bounced off your war priest armor >> and um and managed the thing. But it's rearing back for another shot. So, let me add a turn for this boy. Where's our nish? There it is. All right. Uh, his nish is not great. Not great at all. In fact, bad. He has bad initiative. Um, all right. So, let's go ahead and roll that one second. He's tough, but he's slow. So, he made a three. He begins clumping away 02:06:13 towards Xanderas, who had the tmerity to walk past him. All right, is everybody on the initiative roll? >> Yes, sir. >> All right, let's sort them. All right, first up in the new in the new uh thing, Akudagawa. fast little fella. And uh you see this this uh suit of armor come to life and clankingly kind of turn to look at Xanderas, pull the glaive up and wham, hits him right in the small of the back. Xander goes, "Oh, he got me." >> Well, what the heck? It's like a Honda. 02:06:49 >> Holy holy walking suits of armor. Okay. Um, I am going to, um, not directly engage in combat because I'm a goblin thief. I And I I if one hit from the glaive hits me, I'm a a dead goblin thief. So, uh, I I'll be, you know, splattered everywhere. I don't think I should run forward and engage. Um, it's a suit of armor. I'm going to try to backstab the the suit of armor. So, while it's turned and it's whacked on my friend with its glaive, I was very bad manners. Can I 02:07:30 sneak around like to maybe here and with my dog slicer? This is not going to do anything. But can I attack the suit of armor with a back? >> Give him a little Give him a little flank there. Absolutely you can. >> Great. All right. That's what I'll do. You know what? Sure. Um, and I'm gonna try to stay out of the reach of that glaive if I can. I Um, let me find my character again. Good lord. >> Yeah, no worries. So, flanking, you just have to be on opposite sides. And, uh, 02:08:02 so he gets a minus two circumstance penalty to their AC, making him off guard. Uh, and that makes him subject to precision damage. >> Okay, I will uh attack him with my dog slicer like so. >> Gotcha. Okay. All right. So, the attack is a 12, which I do not think is going to hit even at minus two. So, his AC is 17. Uh, so the minus two, your dog slicer bounces off the metal of the of the armor and does not penetrate. >> Well, I did what I could. I'll come back next round with more trouble. 02:08:33 >> Ah, but we in Pathfinder 2, we have three actions per round. It's a three action issue. So, your first action was to move into position. Your second action was to attack. You get a second attack. So, hit attack number two. >> Pathfinder. Okay, it's two. Okay, cool. You know, I'm going to whack him again. And I roll it almost >> 16. Uh, close. So, his AC is 17. You get minus two for precision. So, you need a 15. So, that's a hit. >> So, in addition to your 02:09:02 seemingly unintelligible bludgeoning damage, um, you do get additional damage from sneak attack. You have done 14 points as you slip your dog slicer in between the cracks of the armor and give it a twist. And it's you could see the creatures like kind of cranking around. >> You have done 14 points of damage. >> Okay, that's what you get for being a >> Did you Oh, it's your decks. D6 plus your decks. Wow. Okay, so yeah, that was uh that was a hell of a roll. >> What did you roll? A four and a four. 02:09:38 Okay. Yeah. So yeah, not max but okay. So uh 14 points of damage. Uh prison. Okay. >> Um good. All right. The creature is grievously wounded. That dog slicer is is is stuck in there and you managed to pull it out with a scrape. And now it is Iggy's turn. Iggy is going to cast lesson of glass. >> Lesson of glass. Okay. Tell us what that does. >> I'm going to put it because it's not on my character sheet. I'm going to put it in the >> I remember >> chat. 02:10:23 >> All right. Lesson of glass. Let's see what that does. Sounds like a specialty spell. Lesson of glass. First level, your pitcher gains the insight into the balance between brilliance and brittleless. You gain lesson of glass uh which is a hex uh range 30 ft. Your you command light to focus into a razored beam. Target must attempt a reflex save. Critical success. It's dazzled. Success. Target C6 failure. The target uh I think those are I think those are uh I think those are flipped. I think 02:10:58 critical failure is target is dazzled. Uh, and this is on the same. Oh, no, no, no. This is right. Never mind. Never mind. Damn it. >> It's only Dazzle. >> It's against my It's the reflex save, which is the which makes the critical sense. All right. So, reflex save for a suit of armor is not going to be huge. Uh, it's actually a lot better than I thought it was. All right. So, >> uh, yeah, I know. Uh, so what's the DC on this on the reef save? >> That would just be my normal DC, right? 02:11:26 >> Yeah, >> correct. >> So, 17 >> 11. He did not. >> Wait a second. I rolled the damn wrong dice. Roll the wrong dice. Hold. Walk it back, people. I rolled a d8, not a d20. >> I'm looking at a green number and I'm like, I got max. How did I not get this? >> All right, here we go. Now, let's give it another try. Oh, nattyzo. So, the DC is 17. So, in this case, I got a 23. Uh, that is a success, but it's not a critical success. So, I take 1d6 fire 02:11:56 damage. Now, let me check. I have to check and see if he is immune. He's immune to bleed, death, disease, doomed, drained, fatigued, healing, mental, non-lethal attacks, paralyzed, poison, sick and spirit, unconscious, vitality, avoid. You know what I don't see there? >> Fire. >> So, fire is good. So, that's D6. Go ahead and roll it. >> And one persistent fire damage. >> Max damage. Uh, no, it was a it's success. Yeah. He gets the persistent. Yeah. >> Yep. All right. Six points. Excellent. 02:12:31 >> Okay. Now, when that happens, >> yes. >> Um Failen um centered on where she's at 5 foot radius. >> Okay. On Failen. >> On Failen. And she >> just exploded in a burst of very slippery sand. >> Wow. >> Okay. >> Interesting. That is now difficult terrain. >> Oh, >> okay. >> Huh. >> Actually, you know what? I'm going to get a It's a five foot rad. I'm going to get you a thing so you can move her. It doesn't move with her. Correct. 02:13:07 >> No. And it only lasts one turn and it does not move with her. In fact, she's going to move right back. So, Whoops. Sorry. Disconnected from her. >> Okay. >> That Failen is >> Oh, here we go. >> Pretty cool. Very cool. >> There we go. Uh, I'm going to put this in the backaroo. Uh, okay. And that way I can take the this off of her. Here we go. There's your five foot radius. Now, are you Do you want to move it forward or anything or just leave it right there? 02:13:41 >> No, it would be centered on where she was. I moved her where I wanted her to be for that. >> Gotcha. >> It's mostly protect us as a skull as the spellcasters. >> Gotcha. Gotcha. I'm going to try casting a second spell because that was Well, let it say on the sheet you gave me. Is that a one action or two action? >> That's almost certainly a two action. >> Okay. So then I probably don't have a one action left. I don't >> you and she use our other action to move 02:14:04 away from it. >> Yeah, but I already am. So, >> Gotcha. >> All right, Zandarius. This thing just hit you. >> Yeah, that's didn't even ask permission. That's what gets me. It asked permission. That's okay. All right. Um, I will uh I guess I will swing at it. >> Okay. What are you swinging? >> My orc neck spplitter. >> Okay, cool. Necksplitter. Okay, so uh 10 is going to miss. And >> do I get the plus two as well for it being flanked? 02:14:44 >> You do, but that's still a 12 and that's not going to help you. That's fine. >> So, first attack is a miss. >> All right. Then I will hit second attack number. >> Second attack. Ooh, is a 21. Very nice. All right. So, that is a hit. >> Uh, and so you do four damage. His AC is 17. So, it's not a critical success, but it is a success. So, four damage. I'll go ahead and take that off. >> Okay. And for my third, I will raise my shield. >> All right. And you raise up your shield 02:15:15 to defend yourself. Excellent. Okay, so your shield is raised. Tenzen, what about you? >> So if I step he here and then here, am I stepping through two? Because Akudagawa has got him. >> Remember Kudawa is pretty small. >> Yeah, Auda is small. I mean, what are you trying to do? >> I can't occupy the same space. >> No, >> that's what I mean. I need to step in front to hit it. Uh, correct. Which would be difficult from that diagonal though. >> Is it is it difficult terrain for two 02:15:50 steps? >> Correct. It will cost you two steps. >> Will 25 ft get me there >> to where? Well, where do you want to be? >> Right in front of it. >> Like right here. Oh, yeah. 25 ft will get you there. >> Okay. So, I will move. >> In fact, that's exactly what it is because you're moving through. Is there any other uh issues that he's going to Tenzen is going to acquire moving through um >> failen spell? Nope. >> Okay. So, it's just difficult terrain. 02:16:15 So, yeah, you have exactly the amount you need. >> Okay. And then I um I will assume my mountain stance. >> Okay. So, you move. That's one action. Assume the stance. That's another action >> section. And then I'll do flurry of blows to get two hits in one action. Here you go. Boom. Boom. Boom. >> Okay. attack >> a 14 is you're not you're not flanking. So in this case that is still a miss. It would still be a miss even if you were but you're not. 02:16:46 >> Second attack 18. >> Oh that's an 18. Now that is a hit >> for eight damage. >> Eight points of damage. That hit him hard. You see you you give him another one of those punches to the dome that you uh are so good at and you could see when you hit him that the helmet which is closed helmet just sort of rocks backward real thing. You hear the clink of the back of the helmet hitting the top of the top of the back plate armor uh as his head goes snapping backwards. It snaps backwards. You see it bring the 02:17:19 bring the glaive around and it looks like it's going to attack you next time >> for that for that uh the tammerity to come and punch him in the dome. But not if Velcro has his his way. >> Velcro, you're up, bud. >> This thing's got hit points. >> I can't tell how many it has. I don't see a >> Oh, wait. >> Marker on it. >> Well, it's it's taken uh like almost 30 points. Oh yeah, I forgot to give you guys players permissions. There you go. See 02:17:52 the blue? >> Uh, I do not. Unless somebody's covering it up. >> Might be somebody's covering. Um, >> a Kudagawa. Is he covering it or is it behind the wall? >> Hold on. I'm just gonna move him down. See if you can see it now. >> Yeah, that's green, not blue. >> Why is the the green showing but the blue's not? >> Yeah. And there's the green's not been touched. >> Well, that's mostly his um AC for me. Oh, well, I clicked it. I don't know why 02:18:23 it's not doing >> There it is. There it is. >> There it is. Yeah, see there's like that little tinch there. That's his hit points. >> So, I'm going to put him back where he belongs. Sorry. There we go. Okay, good. >> All right, Tenzen, uh you just hit. So, Velcro, you are up. >> All right, we're going to go ahead and try to daz him. Hey, by the way, before you go ahead and hit, I just want to say this this icon. Look at look at look at that icon. That is fantastic. The the uh 02:18:51 ornamentation on that. I'm just uh just want to point that out to everybody. That's that's really cool. >> He looks like the one guy from Lord of the Rings. >> Uh which guy? >> I forget what his name is. He's one of the uh I'll have to look it back up to >> not Strider. >> Jon Snow. >> No, wrong. It does kind of look like >> use the force, John. >> Game of Thrones. I'm thinking Lord of the Rings. >> That'll make a that'll make a lovely off 02:19:18 on your tombstone. >> All right, John. Uh, what is Velcro doing? >> Uh, we're going to daz him, but I can't cast a spell on my character sheet. >> Daz him. Okay, >> I'll I'll I'll post it. I don't know why it's not working tonight. worked fine the other night. >> All right, Dil, you push into the target's mind. Okay, so let me stop you. Uh because it is a uh a mental attack and and it is a construct, so it's a it's immune to >> Oh, 02:19:57 >> yeah. It's animated armor of some sort. >> Giving you that heads up beforehand so you don't waste the spell. >> Oh, thank you. Okay, we'll go ahead and divine divine lance again. >> Oh, okay. Hey, just ride around. Can you Can you go uh Can you shoot it around Tenzen or >> I can't roll. I I don't know how to roll attack. It won't going to work. >> You did before. Hold on. >> I'm having a little bit of problem over here. >> No worries. No worries. We're 02:20:29 >> try this. >> It's all a journey. Finally, it's 19. That is a hit for four damage. That is going to be enough to kill it. And as the lance pierces the thing, it blows right through. You can see a warm uh like a like a a hot spot uh on the side of the armor, kind of glows yellowy as the radiant energy goes shooting through it. And then it collapses sideways, dropping the glaive at its feet and clattering to the ground um before it can get an attack in which I think is really sad. 02:21:03 >> Well, it is great. >> They got an attack. >> They got it. That's true. And we fall out of initiative as you guys look stand over a pile of old armor sort of sitting in the sitting on the ground in front of you. >> Let me take my >> th I'm going to take two actions and and cast a healing spell on myself. >> Okay. >> And that'll give me back eight hit points and I only need six. >> Gotcha. Okay. So, back up to full. uh you guys stand over the armor because 02:21:35 you know uh those of you who are skilled I'm assuming Xanderas and Tenzen uh to a lesser extent Tenzin but certainly use Xanderas would have a little bit of knowledge about the quality of armor especially you know including plate armor and I would say give me uh give me a quick perception check until I figure out something different >> would you 25 >> 25 or would you rather have a survival? Would that make >> No, in this case, perception is right. This is a set although although you were 02:22:11 you were accurate in determining that is an old set of armor, it is an incredibly well-crafted and very um practical set of armor. It's also made for a rather large man. Uh so >> seven foot like seven foot long. Well, not quite not quite that large, but frankly, a an armor or a blacksmith might have a far easier time fixing this up for a 7 foot person um as opposed to, you know, some of the, you know, some of the other armors and various kinds of things. >> And would it be considered uh medium 02:22:45 armor if that's the case? >> It's it's plate armor, so it would be considered heavy armor. >> Yeah. Never mind. And it does bear uh uh that that that windmill sigil on the front. Yeah. >> But I think if we get Velcro and then a Kuda sitting on his shoulders, >> two dudes in a set of plate mail. There you go. >> Yeah. >> Then they can buy then they can buy liquor at the liquor store. >> Like Master Blaster. >> I'm Yeah, exactly. >> I'm six foot tall. 02:23:16 >> Uh I'm going to examine the Glaive. Is the Glaive a two-handed glaive? >> It is definitely a two-handed glaive. is large, heavy, uh, high quality. Looks like it's been in a couple of battles, too. >> Does that interest you? Do you use a most >> Okay. How about you, Velcro? >> I use my cloth clothing and my wits about me. >> Well, Iggy, other than a stripper pole, uh, I don't think that would do too much for you. >> No interest to me at all. 02:23:48 >> But, um, uh, Groom Hilda might have an interest in it. You'd have to saw about half the stick down. But yeah, maybe >> she is a dwarf. >> Yeah. Oh, I mean, yeah, we can alter the stick fairly easily. >> Yeah. I mean, it's just, you know, chop it in half. >> Yeah. Make make a note of that if you wouldn't mind tins in and we'll see if she wants wants to do that because it might do more damage than her present weapon. I don't know. >> Uh, should I put that as third floor? 02:24:20 Yeah, this is we're on the third floor. >> Yeah, this would be third floor. >> All right, I I'll take >> You can go check in. >> Yeah, I was going to say I'll go take a quick look in here. And do I see more bookcases? >> No, this is a little different. So, this looks like a um looks like a storage room for cleaning supplies, frankly. Uh the door is standing open. >> Uh but it is a it's essentially a storage closet. There's on one side >> ammonia, vinegar, and and steel. Oh, we 02:24:59 can make bottles with that. >> Don't mix the bleach and the ammonia. >> There are bottles, but they look like they're empty, either evaporated or spilled. Um, there are linens, like towels and bedding, blankets, some old pillows. There's even a little basket that has what look mistakably like little soaps, uh, sort of in there. Now, I don't know if they're guest soaps, but they could be. >> No mints. >> Uh, no mints. Uh, not that I can see. But, uh, >> I'll rifle through it all real quick to 02:25:27 see if there's anything else stored in there. >> Yeah, there's like various kinds of brooms and and mops and stuff like that. But yeah, it's definitely a closet. >> Not uh yeah, nothing of value. Okay. Is that glaive gonna leave a sexy scar? >> Yeah, you already healed. >> Uh it it cracked you in the small of the back, so I don't know that it drew any blood. It probably crunched you a little bit, though. >> Crap. >> Well, it was a lot of uh that was a lot 02:25:54 of hit points for a crack in the back. So, I don't know. Maybe >> probably snapped a few uh sidebones or something. >> I dig star scars. [Laughter] But yeah, this is this is a cleaning a cleaning closet of some sort. >> Uh, Akuda, you want to check that door there and we'll uh go through it or >> Glad to I will do that. I'm going to perceive again. Here comes the perceived to check for traps or whatever. That's That's not great. That's not a great 02:26:26 thing. Oh, um, >> thank you. Thank you for the guidance. Lately, it seems I need it. I don't know. You get a couple of Nat 20s 19 by inanimate objects. So, >> well, apparently those days may not be over. >> You had it. Anyway, um I got an 11. >> 11 + 1 is 12. Yeah. You know, >> it was 10 plus one. >> Gotcha. Okay. 10 plus one 11. All right. Even so, uh you do notice this door is unlocked. It doesn't seem to be trapped, but there is a >> So, frankly, there's a really large sort 02:27:09 of door lock on this door. This is something you haven't seen elsewhere in the house. >> Um, but there's definitely a large sort of key lock on this door. This door is not locked now, but it could very well be locked at some point. >> Green locked. >> Okay, I will open the door. >> Okay. Uh, go ahead. The door opens and you look in and let me get some light over there. Uh, one second. All right. You come into a large room. It's a large and lonely room. It's expansive in size, 02:27:50 but of minimal furnishings that make it sort of melancholy. Uh especially given now that you can hear outside of the windows and there's no curtain on these windows so you can see outside. Uh you know, you can see that rain has begun falling outside and it's tap tap tapping across the windows. It's very dark out. >> Um there's a set of doors over here that go out to what look to be some sort of outside balcony. Uh, and you do see what looks to be a sort of large but droopy 02:28:23 looking bed, uh, sort of in the middle, flanked by a couple of nightstands. There's a large wardrobe over on the north wall, uh, and a fulllength mirror over uh, sort of uh, uh, uh, next to the thing over in this area. It's very cold in this room. It's strangely cold. >> Cold. >> Strangely cold. Oh. Um, >> strangely, what would cause it to be cold? >> Well, the windows aren't covered, so or the doors. >> Well, the windows don't have curtains, but they're closed. 02:29:03 >> Yeah, but that still doesn't mean they're not drafty. >> Windows. Okay. Drafty windows. Um, or ghosts. That would be really cruel of us. >> No, it's >> Is that true? >> It is true. So, as you guys are sort of wandering around >> Oh, well, look at this. This door closes. >> You see over in the in the in the corner. >> Oh my god. >> You see what looks to be a figure. At first, you're like, there's a woman in here. But then you look around and you 02:29:39 can see the mirror behind her and through her and then you see the woman itself because as she she sort of turns to change and look at you >> and you see her ghostly image sort of looking through accusingly >> pretty >> at you. Very pretty. >> I said it was a good one. You definitely feel like uh that this um that this woman uh was was beautiful in life and young, but that life uh was stolen from her. Her red eyes sort of glow menacingly. She has made no uh uh um I mean she's not moving forward. 02:30:18 She's standing in front of the mirror sort of looking at you and looking at you sort of accusatorally more than anything else. >> Oh wow. Is it is it uh what I consider an older woman or a >> would have been a younger woman? >> That's what I was asking. Yeah, that's like teenager. >> Mrs. Dur >> late teens, early 20s probably. >> I'm I'm thinking it might be the daughter. >> No, this is at least the daughter at least. Well, if you're if you're gauging 02:30:51 the daughter on the skeleton that's in the that's in the up the upper floor, this would be this is a an older woman. >> Older. >> Okay. >> The daughter, at least in all the stuff that you saw, the daughter was in her like very early teens, 12 or 13. >> Okay. >> Uh this woman looks to be potentially in her early 20s. Don't we have some clerics out there in the other? >> Yeah. I mean, we're we're still coming through. >> It's turning to stare at you guys, and 02:31:26 you see her eyes begin to glow male malevolently. She hasn't moved forward, but as Velcro jumps onto the bed, >> bed. >> Hi. You see her eyes kind of look over. >> That's my bed. >> Hey, don't jump up and down on that bed. Unless I'm going to raise my shield so I don't have to do that. >> Okay. Uh, she looks over. Does anybody do anything? She sort of She hasn't moved towards you. She's just sort of looking over at you >> with >> Ask 02:31:56 if it's Mrs. Durst. >> Give me a perception check. >> I don't know if I'd ask if it was Mrs. Durst. >> This might be the mistress, too. >> Did he have a mistress? Yeah, if you read the note from the thing or from uh Strady said that uh you slept with a woman and produced an undead child. So that's right. >> Still born. >> Still born. I'm thinking that's the mistress. >> That's why she was all mad. Okay. That's why she was mad. 02:32:27 >> Okay. Um >> she does look uh so to Oh, sorry. Go ahead. Uh Eric, I apologize. I interrupted you. >> Oh, no, no, no. Um, I was just about to say um we should say something mllifying to the ghost, but um that's all. She doesn't say anything to you guys. She just sort of looks at you guys and the her it's very clear. So, Xanderas with your perception check. It's very clear to you that uh she was very much a a beautiful young woman in life. Uh, but that now in her ghostly form, it looks 02:33:04 like if you if we look again, you know, sort of at her, it looks like maybe I don't know that tortured, but she certainly has an undead vibe about her. Uh, and she's looking I guess it's less angry at you guys as it is accusatorily like you have done this to me. >> Um, got also >> out of that mirror or just near it. As far as you could tell, you didn't see her. She one moment she was there, the next moment she was I mean she wasn't there and then she was there. >> She also also you noticed one thing with 02:33:37 that uh 19 perception is that the dress that she is wearing there are dark darker stains not blood but like like wetness uh uh uh on her chest >> like her chest is is dark. >> Could be. It's in the right zone. It's certainly not blood. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> She just looks at you accusatorily. >> Oh dear. Well, that's quite sad, actually. Um >> I I I pick up a Kuragawa like a little baby and say, "Is this the one you're looking for?" 02:34:13 >> Wait a minute. Who's got um Who's got the figurine? >> Whoa. What? >> Do you think it's connected? >> It's worth a try. I can take the figurine out and make sure she sees it. >> I don't know. Um I don't know what to do. Uh I do think we should show respect. >> She's not uh she's not becoming aggressive. Is >> Yeah, >> she's not becoming aggressive, but she's looking at you guys accusatorily. Uh the chill in this room has I mean the it 02:34:50 started out cold. Now it's icy in here. You could see your breath. >> Yeah. Um, how do we talk to her? >> Velcro. >> Hey babe, do you come here often? That's usually how you start it. >> Velcro. The moment you get onto that side of the bed, you see her her head just sort of looking at you all generally, but now you see her red eyes sort of focus on you. >> Uhoh. >> I need you to make a will a safe. >> Oh, I got a bad feeling about this. >> That must be her side of the bed. 02:35:21 >> That might be her side of the bed. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> 24. Yeah. For a moment there. So 24 you made. So you made the save, but you felt this wave of coldness and um not hatred. Sort of like the feeling that you get when you've loved somebody a long time ago and they did you uh they didn't love you back. And not only did they not love you back, but they did you they they they treated you they did something to you that was absolutely terrible. And that sort of >> that sort of Yeah. that sort of hatred 02:36:00 touched with uh you know sort of affection and and mllified by that that sort of putrid feeling that you get. It passes over you in a wave as she's staring at you. She's still staring at you and you can see her mouth kind of moving but no there's no words or sound coming out. And as this wave hits you, there's like a wave of blindness comes over you and then it passes. You know, slowly you could feel your um there's a snap and you can see nothing but black and then slowly, you know, the the room 02:36:29 and the function begin to come back into into uh into focus. >> I'll say Jessica, is that you from Chicago? >> Ah, Dawn, I remember you well. Um, >> I'll say uh hello. Can you tell us your story? >> Um, >> she's looking strangely at Um, give me Do they have sense motive in this game? I bet they do. Um, >> yes, sensing motive. Uh, give me a sense motive check. >> There's no such thing. >> Uh, there is. It takes one action. >> Tell whether you need to do one. 02:37:18 >> Uh, he needs to do one. >> You can try to tell whether a creature's behavior is abnormal. Choose one creature and assess it for body language signs of nervousness. Uh, >> what do you have to roll for it? >> That's PF1. >> Uh, no. I'm pulling it from archives. Here we go. Just put it in here. stepping on my character sheet about that. >> So roll Yeah. Okay. Roll. I'll just give it to you. Roll a sense motive check. Give me a give me a number. 02:37:47 >> Yeah. But where is where is s >> perfect? >> Where is sense motive on the list to roll? That's what I'm >> Is that under our skills is what he's >> Yeah. Okay. So it's right. >> It's a secret trait. I I roll it for you. >> All right. >> Yeah. It's an action and I roll it for you. You could say you could say I I'm to try and sense their motive and then I roll it. >> Oh, gotcha. Okay. >> So, I'm just gonna 02:38:15 >> Didn't know we had secret traits >> apparently. All right. So, as you're looking at her and you try to talk to her is like, you know, you say, you know, how can we help you? What's wrong? Uh why are you doing this? She looks at you and you can see her mouth is still moving but it's not making any uh I mean you don't read lips or anything so it's not like um uh making any sense but you can see this wave of energy just is emanating off of her and you can still feel it. You can 02:38:39 still feel that sort of like putrid betrayed feeling in the pit of your stomach. It isn't driving it isn't making you blind uh in this case like it was almost going to uh but it's you could still feel it. Yeah. >> And it just it's just roing off her in waves. >> Okay. >> Wow. So, she's in pain. We should find a way to assuage the pain. Um, >> that's what I want to do. >> Let me see. >> I'm all about healing. I'm all about healing the undead. I just 02:39:16 Yeah. >> You just don't have a way to talk to her. That's the problem. Um, I wonder if there's a symbol that she needs to see or a sign or some sort of thing she needs to see. Um, I'm trying to think. >> Xanderas, what are you trying to do with that occultism skill? >> Um, trying to determine her motive towards us. >> Okay. Uh, 19 is pretty good. Um this so you've you've read about ghosts and specters and things of that nature, revenants and various kinds of undead. 02:39:52 Uh this is striking you to a certain extent more like a haunt uh in that she's trapped in this place, brought here from an undead sense uh you know return to the scene of the crime perhaps that kind of that kind of vi. There are many tales in your studies of of haunts of places in the in uh you know that were amongst your tribe and other tribes of orcs where terrible things took place in this or that place and subsequently those places were avoided and then shamans or or or dowbty warriors would go in and be able to 02:40:28 cleanse that place. But you've never done it yourself. >> Gotcha. Okay. Because that's I I do have religion checks as well. >> Okay. Um, not to be a Debbie Downer, it is 11:00 our time. >> Oh, geez. Okay. Uh, all right. Well, so we're still in this room. Do you guys want to stop here and then we'll resume uh next time uh in this room? >> That's fine. >> Does that sound good? >> Thank you. >> All right, we will do that. >> Yeah, 02:40:56 >> thank you so much. >> Sounds like a plan. >> Flood warning go bye-bye yet? >> Yeah, Dan, are you still getting a lot of heavy rain? >> Okay. >> All right. Well, stay dry, man. >> Good luck. Be careful. >> I'll get back I'll get back to work on the ark now. >> Sounds good. >> Take care, buddy. >> All right, gentlemen. Well, thank you for the game. We will see you in two weeks. Yeah. See you, boys. Thank you. Good, guys. 02:41:20 >> Take care. >> Later.
