00:00:02 recording in progress. Did >> you say you're going to put the Tiny Batman link on on this or where' you put that link on? >> Yeah, it's in the chat on the Zoom. >> It's in the chat uh of Zoom. >> Oh, of Zoom. >> Oh, I can put it here, too. Yeah, hold on. I can put it here. That makes sense. There you go. >> Thank you, sir. >> Yeah, if you scroll down to the bottom, it has each each uh card and the powers underneath it uh that was uh awarded to 00:00:28 you. Uh, so that being the case, let's do uh CUDA. [Music] >> What do you mean your face? >> His face is on um Z. >> Roll 20. >> And and Ghilda and Jim and Tom and Velcro and Dan. You guys are all I just this guy. Uh, I think you can uh in personal in uh go to the top right the thing that says my settings. I think it's in personalization and display. >> Yes, sir. >> Uh no, it might be an audio video. Uh video display. >> Actually, I'll do it. I got it now. I I 00:01:14 got you. Thank you. Thank you. >> Okay, cool. All right. Uh All right. Awesome. Uh, so that being the case, um, let's go ahead and, uh, and Eric, let's do yours and, um, Dan's tarot card. >> And I'm just going to do this here. So, hold on one second. >> Hey, Dan, I noticed your character's name was Iggy. >> Why isn't your uh your familiar's name pop? >> No, our our star or Stardust. Oh, >> that was too spot-on. >> All right. Can you guys see the the 00:01:51 tarot draw deck card? >> Yeah. No, >> on Zoom. >> It's on Zoom. Sorry. Yes. Sorry. >> Okay. >> All right. So, let's let me get the thing open, too. Hold on a second because I forgot we had to do that. Uh, all right. One second. One second. >> I will draw. Huh? Okay. >> Okay. Here we go. All right. All right. So, so here's the thing about the uh about the tarot cards uh is that in this game uh this campaign we're going to be tarot cards are going to be important 00:02:24 because they are sort of like multi-use magic items and stuff like that. Now, when you uh when you use them, they are expended and you give the tarot card back. Uh but you will be able there will be times and places and locations where you will find other tarot cards. You can trade them back and forth if you want to do that. But they all have powers. Here's the thing about the powers. There's very they they have various powers depending on how you play it at the time. Uh so there's a benefit to you 00:02:52 as the player character. There's you can use it to uh uh enemy as a a debuff on an enemy. Uh you can use it as as part of an attack or part of a defense or even as an area of effect. Uh you can throw the card at the at the people and stuff like that. So, what we're going to do right now is uh first things first for um for Akuragawa, uh we're going to draw a card and I'm going to uh I'm going to show it to you. You'll have in your journal and then um you will I'll tell you what the powers of it are. So, 00:03:22 here we go. You ready? >> Yes, sir. >> I can't wait. >> Oo, the High Priestess. >> All right. The High Priestess card. So, let me let me share that with you. >> Uh >> interesting. The high priestess. >> The high priestess on >> the future as change genders. >> So the high priestess has has the power. So as a PC benefit, you can play it and gain an in a plus two insight to one skill check or saving throw of your choice. >> Oh >> wow. 00:03:58 >> Uh if you if you use it against an enemy >> uh uh one second. If you use against an enemy, um the target will suffer a minus two penalty on their perception checks for one round, >> which might be good for a rogue type, >> uh as an attack, you can channel arcane energy through a weapon, and your next attack will deal an extra d8 worth of damage, force damage. If you use it as a defense, you gain a plus one bonus to your AC for one round. >> Interesting. And if you use it as an 00:04:31 area of effect, anyone within uh you can use it anyone within 15 feet of where you play the card uh has a choice uh any ally has a choice of gaining a plus one bonus on their attack roles uh for two rounds. >> That's interesting. That's good to know. Okay, that's a >> but any any ally that chooses to can can participate in it as long as they're within 15 feet of each other. >> I see. Well, okay. Interesting. >> All right. >> I see. >> Cool. All right. Hold on a second. 00:05:04 >> All right. Uh, nope. >> All right. Uh, hold on. Well, I clicked twice and it I didn't want to I didn't want to go too far. All right. So, that's the High Priestess. Dana, are you ready? >> Here's Freddy. >> The moon. Another another big face card. All right. So, the moon uh goes to you. Hold on a second and I will share that with everyone. There we go. Uh, the moon. I can't even find it. This is so much stuff in here. The moon. All right. Uh, so as a benefit to you personally, you 00:05:38 get an intuitive ef plus two bonus to perception or occultism checks uh when you play it. As a debuff, your target enemy suffers a minus two penalty on their saving throws against illusions or enchantments for one round. Uh, as an attack, you can conduct a shadow strike, which uh uh any melee or ranged attack that you do, in this case, probably also any any uh uh magical attack, does an additional 1d6 psychic damage. >> Wow. >> As a defense, you gain total concealment until the start of your next turn. 00:06:15 And as an area of effect, you veil an area, a 10-ft radius of obscured area in which enemies must succeed at a DC-15 perception check to locate anyone. >> Okay. >> All right. So, I will share that all with you at some point in the future. >> Thank you. >> Sorry, what was that? John, did you say something? >> Did we lose him? >> Did we lost? >> Yeah. >> No, he's still I still see him. Oh, something. We don't Yeah. Something's going on with things. Okay. So, the last 00:06:59 time we went uh we played we you guys went to Madame >> Language, John. >> Uh you got >> um you guys went to Madam Evas. were brought there by a um by a uh a messenger who brought a message that uh said that you were invited to come see Madame Eva. And she um that's awfully close, isn't it? and she uh um she did the tooka which is sort of like a bovian specific tarot card reading in which many of the things that you so basically she was like look you're here and your 00:07:35 your destiny is in the hands to get out of this place there's certain things you're going to you're going to have to do uh and this tooka reading will tell you of the at least to a certain extent of the things that you'll have to do right she she was a weird combination of kind of knowledgeable but not really that knowledgeable. You got the impression that she was channeling the power of something else uh as she laid out these cards and you guys got uh a series of cards. So uh in the hold on a 00:08:03 second. So the first thing that she said is this card tells of history and knowledge of the ancient will help you better understand your enemy here. and you drew the the the meridon uh the five of swords and then she said, "Look for a den of wolves in the hills overlooking a mountain lake. The treasure belongs to mother knight." >> The next thing she said is, "This card tells of a powerful force for good and protection, a holy symbol of great hope." And then she revealed the four of 00:08:36 stars, the abjurer. Uh and she said, "I see a fallen house guarded by a great stone dragon. look to its highest peak. >> Then she the next card she said this is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance, a sword made of sunlight. And she revealed the master of stars, the wizard. Uh look for a wizard's tower on a lake. She said, "Let the wizard's name and servant guide you to that which you seek." Then then the the fourth card she said, "This card sheds light on one who will 00:09:14 help you greatly in your battle against darkness." And then she says she turned over the innocent. And she said, "This evil's bride is the one you seek." >> Kind of cryptic, weird, but okay. And then finally she said your enemy uh she says your enemy is a creature of darkness whose powers are beyond mortality. >> This card will lead you to him. >> And she revealed the dark lord. >> He lurks in the depths of darkness. She said in the one place to which he must 00:09:47 return. >> And that was the that that was the cryptic messages that Madame Eva gave you. and and then uh uh you know she was like okay that's it here's your tarot cards uh you know off off you go uh now that kind of stuff into and you you're immediately sort of like you know she's like and that is all I have to say so and you guys find yourselves filing out uh into the street of uh you know the Akian street uh about midm morning because she remember you got you guys were having breakfast when the messenger 00:10:18 came uh and everyone give me a quick perception check >> you mean I can't get my nails done before we Uh maybe maybe good. >> Uh perception you said correct >> please. >> And did we did we feel that she was in fear like trying to help us or or we feel like maybe she was trying to mislead us somehow? >> Well, I mean, you didn't get a misleading vibe from her. Or I mean you could do a quick uh um sense motive to see, you know, what your what your thoughts are on it. So try that. 00:10:56 >> Uh okay. Sense motive. What would that be? >> Uh I think it's actually sense motive still in Pathfinder second edition, isn't it? >> Well, there's not a skill. There's diplomacy. There's >> deception. There's um the high priestess. Look at that. Is >> that you? >> No. >> No. Who is that? diplomacy and deception. >> Sense the motive. Uh so hold on a second. It's call. They just changed it a little bit. >> It would be in 5e. It would be insight, 00:11:26 but there's nothing like insight. [Music] >> Hold on one second. I will I will have this for you momentarily. >> Okay. >> Sense motive. Yeah, you can uh you can tell. Hold on. Uh all right. You can try to tell if a creature's behavior is abnormal. Um this is a two action thing if it doesn't matter here. Uh you um uh so do it basically a perception check. >> Oh, okay. Perception check >> against a DC that only I know. >> All right. What'd you get? 00:11:59 >> 21. >> 21 perception. Okay. So, yeah. So, as you're you you know, you're sort of uh you know, Grillilda, you've uh you've uh met a lot of charlatans in your time and uh you know, you don't uh you don't take everybody at their at their word. Now that you're stuck in this weird Bovia place, who knows what these people are about, right? I mean, they're all nuts. So, uh, but you I don't know, you feel weirdly confident that Madame Eva is on the level. Uh, she's obviously a very 00:12:27 mystical person and that kind of stuff, but you can sense that there is she does have some magical abilities. She's in tuned with the spiritual forces and things of that nature. Uh, and she frankly seems kindly too as well. So, you don't get you don't get the vibe off her that she is uh trying to uh send you uh into the path. Frankly, >> does she send >> Go ahead. >> Does she send us off with cookies when we leave? >> No cookies. Uh but uh she does wish you well in your endeavors uh and hopes that 00:12:55 you succeed. But other than that, other than the these sort of cryptic pronounces related to the cards and that sort of wellw wishes that is sort of non-specific um you know she doesn't say say much and you find yourself back out into the street. So as you're walking out of Madame Eva's uh and you begin walking back through the streets of Aki because right now you don't really have any other place to go. You don't know any other places except for the blue water end. So you begin sort of moving back in 00:13:23 that direction when you do those of you who got a perception greater than 20 which is most of you um you see something a little strange. You're walking down the street uh and it's typical daytime medieval city bus hustle and bustle. The only things that you you could notice a couple of things. One the people well they don't seem very cheerful here. Uh, and it could but it could be a reflection of the weather because you know you've looked up and it ever since you've been here the weather 00:13:52 has been overcast and cloudy. I you don't think that you've seen the sunshine once you've since you've been here. In fact, it's it's it always feels like the the the the sky is kind of kind of forboding like much much like Great Britain when Dan is not there. Uh uh but the other thing that you see is down the street about maybe 40 feet down down the way from her you see something that looks a little out of place and that out of place is oh for Pete. >> It's dark 00:14:29 >> there. It's not that dark, but you could see that there is a guy, pale skinned, uh sort of bags under his eyes, uh you know that uh that kind of stuff. Uh and he's and he's sort of leaning up against the the post of the post of one of the buildings and he's very definitely looking at you guys as you guys have have emerged from Madame Evas. Um he's kind of trying to be it looks like he's trying to look nonchalant. Uh like maybe he's not looking at you guys, but he's 00:14:55 definitely looking at you guys. Well, I think we should walk in that direction. >> If you begin walking that direction, before you even get close, before you even get within 40 ft of the guy, he immediately spots that you guys are looking at him and moving towards him and he takes off. But at the same time, a a person wearing a dark cloak and a and a and a and a hood on it begins approaching you >> and says something. >> Hey guys, >> something. >> Don't Don't follow that guy. Don't 00:15:30 follow that guy. >> So the man in the cloak says to hi. Uh don't follow you. He whispers, "You guys don't follow that man." >> Why not? >> Yeah. Why not? >> Why not? He looks sneaky. >> He's He's spying on you. >> But >> all the more reason to follow him. >> Want to know why he's so interested in us? >> Oh. Oh, I know why he's interested in you. I can tell you. >> Why? >> What's going on? >> He He He knows how you got here. 00:16:11 He knows how we got here. >> And who would have told him? >> Are you saying via the armored cart or to the world? >> Kind of both. I think they've been they've been waiting for you. They knew you were coming. >> I don't think there's any secret. We all came out. It was kind of >> nice and warm and we were thrust into a cold, wet place and somebody smacked my bottom. That's no I think they meant in this world. >> Oh. Oh. And they and they know about the 00:16:46 silver. >> We got no stinking silver. >> So this man uh uh you can see and so you can see you can see part of his face right now. The hooded cloak is is you know it's it's not it's obviously not a Parker that somebody has pulled the strings on by Kenny. Um it's it's just a hooded cloak. As you can see, it's a a a man, a human man, uh with dark dark skin, dark hair, and a beard. Um any other uh quite attractive uh you know, physically uh appealing looking. He's 00:17:18 he's handsome. Uh but you also get the unmistakable vibe that this is a kadiran man >> from where we came. >> Is that the Okay. How is it that you know so much about us and where we came from and what we might or might not be carrying? >> I I've been sent to help. >> By whom? >> Well, whom? >> Well, in indirectly by my patron or maybe directly by my patron and indirectly by I forgot his name already left. Sorry. >> Uh your your patron. Oh, you mean the 00:17:55 guy that Oh, that your patron directed you to Mousse. Yeah, >> but it's not like Wif really had a choice. I guess >> unless I look around, is there some place we can talk out of direct street with this man? >> There's no there's no real taverns or anything down here. It's mostly houses and small shops where where you are in in in this portion of Akia. Uh Akia, I mean. Um, but I mean, you just came from the blue water in and you're staying there. So, it's pos they have a big 00:18:27 common room. Uh, I mean, you could go back there if you wanted to. >> That would allow me to use that weird um >> that weird animation. Yeah, that where they where he walks right through the bar. >> In fact, >> now is now is an excellent time for that. >> Can we uh >> very wise? Did the guy who was staring at us, did he he pretty much gone? >> Yeah, he scadadled. He he he was gone in a tric. And I mean, as you kind of look around as you're walking through the 00:18:58 streets of Aki back to back to the blue water and you realize that, you know, there's a lot of Warren and uh you know, little alleys, typical medieval kind of kind of streets. Uh you know, honestly, chasing him through here uh would have been a fool's errand. You you quickly realize, especially since you guys really don't know the city yet. We're gonna throw our our our tracer at the guy and have him stick >> to spider tracer. >> Yeah. Other otherwise known as let's see what is his name? 00:19:32 >> Akuda. >> Uh Agata uh Akutagawa. >> Akuragawa. >> Yes sir. >> All right. So you you go on your your way uh accompanied by this new guy uh and um you make your way towards the border and it doesn't take much time. Valaki is not an enormous city. It's not going to take you an hour to walk over there. More like 10 minutes um to get there, but you get back. >> I asked this new equ um this new person, what is the deal with the little stairs up to the little 00:20:06 window? He tells you no one really knows why why those stairs are there, but it's it's been a mystery. You know, >> it goes to the smallest room that you can rent. >> It's the size of a cardboard box. >> All right. So, you'll remember this is the map of Aki. Remember that this is this here in the white uh white circle is the blue water in uh the church uh is over here and Madame Eva's is in here in this little circle. As you investigate more places, we will add more places to 00:20:46 >> where and where were we met in the street? >> Uh it would have been right up in here sort of like right about right uh can you guys >> Oh, okay. We're that far down. Okay. >> Yeah. So you guys, yeah, it was basically they ca he came to you uh like >> the guy I mean you guys just walked out and that's when you saw the guy who was about 50 ft away leaning against the the wall and then this other guy this Kadiran man kind of comes out of the comes out and says you know once you 00:21:13 guys chase off the first guy he comes towards you and is like hey you know cuz you you get the vibe that he was definitely waiting for you guys too. Do we think that the the the guy with the with the dark circles under his eye, was he was he like listening to what Madame Ava was telling us? >> You don't think he was close enough to have been able to hear, although you you only saw him when he was like, you know, so he was sort of like across the street kind of thing. Uh it's possible that he 00:21:44 may have been closer to the house and listening, but you don't remember seeing him there. Uh the only thing that really drew your attention was the fact that he was he was very intently sort of watching you guys come out of Madame Evas. >> Um but where he was before that, you don't know. Maybe maybe the new guy knows. >> Do I? >> Uh give me a perception check. >> Oh, there we go. Okay. >> Maybe the new guy knows. >> If so, I hope somebody tells him. We'll 00:22:17 also ask the new guy what his name is and how he came to be here and if he knows a blacksmith that might be willing to help us. >> Neat. >> Oh, we need a blacksmith. Excellent. >> Uh the silver coin. >> Any blacksmiths here? >> Getting that perception. >> Gosh, does it always take that long for your character sheet to open? >> Uh I don't know. I don't think so. I keep getting the little spinning blue ball every time I reopen it. Leave it open. >> Sometimes Zoom is quite wonky. You might 00:22:50 try refreshing the page. >> Is it not working? >> There we go. Perception 18. All right. So, when you approached, the guy was already there. Uh, and you clocked him pretty quickly because you Well, he was looking at the exact same place that you were looking at because you had followed these guys. Uh, you'll remember. I'll I'll let him tell it. But yeah, you saw that he was already there when you arrived at at that leaning against post and to uh to your uh you know, you he he 00:23:21 did not approach the building uh any closer than he was when they came out. >> But I also heard people talking about all this earlier, right? >> You heard them talking about it. So, so you guys get back to the blue water in uh and post up in the it's it's probably um you know 10:30 11 o'clock in the morning. Uh and you post up and you know it's coming up. You could smell the you could smell the uh the lunch uh the lunch the smells of lunch is starting to cook up and the guy comes over and you 00:23:55 know uh asks if you want drinks, welcome back. How did it go? You know that kind of thing. And then you sit down and I'm assuming that the Kadiran man pulls back his >> pet. Okay. >> And uh you see a guy who Let's see if this works. It may or may not work. >> Who looks like Nope. Didn't work. Uh he's basically what the way I describe him. A Kadiran man. He's wearing sort of a green head scarf around his head uh in the fashion that the Kadir and uh uh Kadiran horsemen often do. um you know 00:24:28 from the steps. Uh he also has a black cloak that he goes over the whole thing. You can see he's got black hair, black beard. Um but very very definitely a kadiran man with kadiran uh sort of features and clothing. >> I asked, do you wear that scar to hide a or that scarf to hide a terrible scar? >> Uh it's it's really just very popular in the area that I grew up. >> Well, that's a shame because scars are sexy. Les, would they see um Failen? >> Uh probably not on the street, but once 00:25:06 you got back to the Blue Water Inn, I'm sure Failen would would come out. >> So that another thing you would notice is a >> Damn, they got strange they got strange rodents here. >> Oh, she's not a rodent. She's a very beautiful um almost transparent um monkey with wings. Is that um is is that is she a creature that we would recognize from uh from I don't even know what to call >> a lore nature check if you have it. You come you come from the west, don't you, 00:25:46 witch? >> I have more local terrain, which I assume probably wouldn't be local terrain, but it would be I don't even know what to call. >> Give it a shot. Why not? Local terrain 14. Yeah, you've never seen a creature like this before. Ever. And the interesting part is that uh you know, a monkey with wings. Well, that's one thing, right? We live in a magical world. But this monkey looks like it had well it has runes carved on it and it looks like it might be made I don't know 00:26:15 Dan you want to describe this it might be made of glass >> might be made of glass >> except it's moving very fluently >> I introduce her as this is this is my friend Failen >> never heard of anything like this >> and how big is Failen I mean is she is she little like this or is she is she bigger than is she You know what I would think you would have noticed is when you first saw her, she seemed quite small. Like she was kind of hiding. Um, but now she's probably closer to a full-size but 00:26:48 small monkey. >> So like a capuchin monkey. >> Say by the size of a spider monkey or something. >> Yeah. So maybe a foot and a half tall. >> Yeah. >> But you did not notice her. She was apparently somewhere hidden inside of uh this guy's clothing. This guy who has not introduced himself yet uh to him. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. By the way, did you call >> Did you call uh uh Gwen a a witch out loud? Did I hear that? >> No. No. I asked if if you came from the 00:27:25 the the west flying monkeys. >> Oh, >> no. Wicked witch. >> Wizard of Oz. >> But you did ask that. I heard I would have heard. >> No, I would not ask that because who knows what >> Okay. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Well, so so he introduces himself as as Iggy. He says that I am uh I I I I am a practitioner of of glass work um and and other um uh things of art. Uh but I I really feel that my my great love is of books and reading and and just knowing 00:28:04 stuff. Um my my patron is the one that has asked me to come and assist you all. Um she believes this will be good for me to come and and learn um and and grow my craft while helping you all. >> Interesting. >> Does he know about the uh the group that we were sent with being wiped out? Yes, he he's he's aware and his P because his patron became aware and let Musaf know that Mif sorry Museif and told him he needed to send someone to help and that I should be the one that he sent and that's why I'm here. 00:28:42 >> And do do you know the way for us to return to our own world, our own plane? >> I believe that we have not found that yet or or they probably would have tried to bring you back. So I believe we need to um enable that to happen and I know it's going to incur some great danger. Um in fact I I I think one of the things we need to do is explore a very dangerous place nearby that that everyone else is being told not to go to. Um but I I I I my patron has let me know um that it's very important that we 00:29:20 do go there. >> I see. Okay. I guess we should go there. >> He comes across, by the way, as very nerdy and and socially awkward. >> Okay, got it. >> Very excited. >> Big rimmed glasses. >> Did you Did you craft Did you craft your friend there, Failene? >> Oh, no. Um, he is um I guess I guess he's he's my my companion that is also um the source of uh my power. um through my um patron. Yes. I guess I think they're sometimes referred to as familiars in your world. 00:30:01 >> Gotcha. >> So So it's a >> Are you from the same world that we are from? >> Yes. I I just mean like I'm I'm from the desert part of of the world, but and I know our cultures are different. >> Right. Right. Of course. >> How long have you been in this place? >> Um less than a day. I got here just a little bit ago. I came after you, but I was brought straight here. >> Okay. >> Oh, that's convenient. >> Oh, there goes the probably don't know a 00:30:33 blacksmith. >> No, but I know so many crafts people um back in in in in my hometown where um uh we can make such wonderful items. There's so many blacksmiths and and potters and artists um and and glass workers like myself. Um I can create something of very great heat that could be used as a kind of forge, but I'm afraid I I I don't do not know anything much about metal working. [Music] Well, where how far is this place that is other people are told is forbidden, but we actually want to go, I guess. 00:31:15 >> Is is that our first card, our history card? >> Don't know. >> And and I don't know either. My my direction has been very vague to this. >> All right. So he goes he goes on to tell you and I'm he may I don't know Dan do you want to tell them like under what circumstances that you found yourself and your patron putting you in a position to be to come to Aki uh uh and then find >> I would say that he'd be quite happy to talk tell them anything that he asked 00:31:50 about but what you would learn is that in his search for knowledge um he was searching for a a a famous lost library and he he realized he had to go through the desert to find it and he went and found a monk that that he heard could tell him how to find it and and she did tell him how. Um but then he realized that that he was never going to find the library because the stars kept moving. So it was almost like it was a trap and he was dying in the desert and the monk came to him and said that that he had to 00:32:23 give his life to her and if he did she would bring him to the library. So he agreed and she killed him, but then brought him back to life in the library. Um, and that is his patron. And in that library is not just a library of books, but it's a library of of art and and and beauty and and and so he's been spending a long time learning through her how to do all of these great things. But she believes it is time for him to stop reading books and and make glass and to learn how to be a practitioner of of the 00:32:55 hex arts. Um, I guess, you know, um, some might call me a warlock, but that would be completely wrong. I'm not a warlock or a sorcerer. I'm a I'm a witch. I'm a male witch. They they do exist. You should look it up because I I don't know why people are so uptight about that. >> Auda says, "I, you know, every male witch I've met has been completely gracious and kind. I I think welcome aboard. You know, I'm kind of new here, too. I'm kind of new. I was actually a 00:33:27 street urchin. Not really sure how I wound up here, but anyway. Hey, how's it going? I'm a goblin. >> So, Les, I noticed you put up a square that said haunted house. >> Yeah. So, um, so Iggy goes on to to tell you that, uh, in, you know, that he was just recently brought here and that the reason he was able to find you was that he is also staying here at the Blue Water Inn, but, he had arrived, um, you know, he'd arrived late last night after you'd gone to bed and he was down here 00:33:59 this morning uh, enjoying some tea uh, and uh, saw as you guys when you guys came down from your room um, and you know, had some breakfast and the messenger and he immediately knew knew that you guys were the people that he was supposed to talk to since it's two orcs, a dwarf, a goblin, and a dude, >> right? >> So, it's not like, you know, it's not like you guys blend in, you know, with the rest of Yeah. Right. >> Uh and now and now a guy in a turban. So, yeah, it's like, you know, standing 00:34:29 out a little bit maybe just a twin. Um, but so he so he followed you uh down to because he knew he he knew that you guys were the people that he needed to talk to, but he didn't get a chance to before the messenger came and that kind of So he sort of overheard that you guys were going to you know that the messenger said here's to Madame Eva's who's Madame Eva blah blah blah and then followed you down there and that's why he was waiting for you. >> Were are you able to show them my 00:34:57 picture less? >> Uh yeah, probably. Hold on a second. Uh I can I can make this work. >> Way I can do it. >> I saw I think I saw >> you they so they were uh looking at you uh earlier. Uh so that is uh that is Iggy. >> Iggy dressed in dressed in his traditional uh kadiran garb. And this is Failen. >> Awesome. >> This is beautiful. >> That's really cool. >> Shon would approve. >> Hi Republic really. >> There you go. >> So, yeah. So, and then further Iggy goes 00:35:39 on to say that he's not sure what Madame Eva told you, but he he's he he assumes that it has to do with how does one escape this this this plane that he's come and he's come to assist. Uh and so he has heard in his own investigations. Iggy has uh that there is a place that no one is goes no one goes to, right? It's a it's a fearful place. Some people refer to it as the haunted house. Some people refer to it as death house, uh which is kind of scary, but um but supposedly what he has been told by his 00:36:14 patron, correct Iggy? >> Yes. uh is that contained within that haunted house is a someone or something that will uh assist you in finding out and decryptifying some of Madame Eva's pronouncements >> and >> so we have to go there next. Is that something that we can do during the day where the town's chaos or or is that something that we need to do a little bit? >> I was going to say can we get into this death house covertly during the day because that might be advantageous. 00:36:58 >> Covertly. Well, yeah, probably. I mean, so according according to what Iggy tells you is that his patrons have basically said no uh no one goes there and and he's made a few discreet inquiries, passers by on the street and things like that. Hey, what do you know about this house? Got mixed responses, but basically it's shunned by uh by everyone. Apparently, some of people have said that there was some sort of crime committed there. Some people say it's haunted. Some people say that it's 00:37:27 used by uh you know some of the countsmen uh as a meeting seratious meeting place and you know maybe a place where they take um you know their captives before they take them on to Bovia to to uh uh to uh Ravenloft's castle. Um >> right burn it down. >> Uh so we can't burn it down. Well, where would our bartender have any information? >> Uh, probably. Do you want to ask him? >> Yeah, I would say something like that would have a bunch of lore about it. >> Neat. 00:38:04 >> And it just happens to be right next to the blacksmith shop, right? >> Yeah, it's right next to No, it's in a It's in a sort of It's in a sort of um I guess for lack of a better term, it's in sort of an unpopular but Well, not unpopular. It's actually there are some very it's an it's an older part of the town. Um and so there are some very uh um wealthy people that historically had lived in that part of town. It's not very stylish now. There are still some 00:38:32 old school families that that live down there. That kind of thing. >> Looks like a big parcel of land just next to it. >> Yeah. >> We should also >> Yeah, there's there's a big uh a big area right there. Yeah. Out the side of the fence. We should also ask the tavern keep because we we don't know anything about whatever uh follows for law enforcement here and it could be if this is a wealthy area of town they might not be keen on uh mly crew >> girls >> two orcs a goblin and a dwarf. Uh 00:39:06 so so yeah. So you guys get back to the blue water in and obviously uh um you know the guy is is he's always been very um you know he's always been very uh you know pleasant to you and that kind of stuff. He uh you guys I'm assuming have paid your bills at least some in advance and his name's Irwin and uh you know he's he's approaches you and you know that kind of stuff. You see his wife is hovering around as well. This is definitely a family operation. >> Hovering like floating through the 00:39:30 bottom. >> Well, she's still Yeah. Um uh stop looking at my feet. Um no, she's she's she's watching him. Obviously, he's he's been very friendly. Uh >> do quietly friendly. She le to um >> pursue to try to find a blacksmith to help us or not. >> Good. >> You mean with the silver? I don't want to say the the yes word out loud. >> Do we want to do that with before we go to the haunted house or I mean I suspect probably >> might be while we're doing it 00:40:12 >> because it's going to take them some time. >> Yeah. Yeah. But do we want to >> Well, that's the problem. Letting somebody know we got >> Right. >> That might be a problem too. So, >> right. Does does Iggy know that we have the current silver that we have on us? >> Well, I don't know if he knows the amount we have, but he did mention it. >> Well, I thought he mentioned the silver that was in the chest that we came with. >> That he that's what that's what he was 00:40:40 referring to. Unless correct me if you're if I'm wrong about that. >> No, no, no. That was correct. >> Okay, >> that's that's why they've been asked to look out for you. >> They're just being asked to watch as far as I can tell. That's what I overheard. Do you know why we were sent with it with the chest in the first place? What? What? They apparently >> No. And and or and they don't either. >> They don't they weren't they don't know 00:41:05 either. >> It means ages of >> the people that are spying on you. They that's what they're spying on you for. They're curious about what your connection to all that was. >> I mean, you know, silver is forbidden here, right? >> Is there a library or a records? records office in town, >> anything like that. >> Do you ask Irwin? >> Yeah. >> Uh he tells you there's there's a couple of scribes uh that live here, but nothing nothing like a library or 00:41:38 anything like that. >> Okay. Like a records keeper, town, >> history, lore, that kind of thing. Not not nec. There are a couple of people who know quite a little bit about history here. Yeah. Um, and he'll tell you, you know, for my money, I, you know, uh, in many ways they're, you know, sort of crazy old coups. Uh, and he, he sort of gets a sad look on his face in that, uh, you know, there's, >> um, there's no real call for history anymore, uh, in in in the >> uh, but he does tell you that there are 00:42:11 a couple of old coots that remember the old days. Uh, if you want to talk to him, one of the guy's name is Vaseline. B E S E L I N. >> Well, he might need to be talked to at one time or the other, but Okay. So, what are we hoping to find in the death house? >> Haunted house. Death house. >> Haunted house. Not death house. >> Could be. >> According according to Iggy's patron, um there is something or someone there. the patron was non-specific >> some help 00:42:50 >> that will be of assistance. Yeah. Help in maybe demystifying some of the things that that um >> I mean that's recommendations to get help to get out of here. So >> So if you ask do you guys ask Irwin about uh about that place? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. We we we we hear a rumor about the a house on the edge of the town. >> Oh yes. You shouldn't go there. Uh that was the old Durst place. Uh the Durst family lived there until well no one really knows what happened to them but 00:43:21 it was a a terrible tragedy. Um whatever whatever befell them um you know uh everybody you know most people assume that they have been killed um the Durst family for uh reasons they uh um they uh >> did a local law enforcement uh uh investigate >> the constables. Oh, no. Uh, no. They stayed far away from uh the Durst the Durst house. >> Um, the the the uh the the count's men warned them off. >> I only I uh I can only assume that somehow the Durst family ran a foul of 00:44:02 the count. Very sad with the the three children there. >> Gotcha. Three children. >> Three children. Yes. Uh a young a young lady of uh of uh um tween years, I would say. Uh a younger boy and then the newborn the newborn baby. Very sad. >> And all the children have disappeared. The parents >> the entire family is gone. Yes. >> How long has this been? >> Oh, non 15 years now. So, the young lady would be >> who currently owns the property. >> Oh, I don't think anyone dares own that 00:44:43 property. Whatever happened to them, it they ran a uh uh the word is that they ran a foul of the count or at least the at least that's my theory since the preponderance of the counts the count's agents have said have warned people away from there. Um but uh uh I don't know that anyone owns it. >> Okay. And what are the squatter laws in this area? >> Well, this is a lawless place. Um, you know, so there so so he did mention a couple of things. One, the constables. There is a constabularary of sorts, but 00:45:16 one gets the impression that it's um strictly for sort of local occurrences, right? um you know and that the the the count's agents or the counts men he's referred to them in a couple of different occasions um sort of supersede all authority um you know whatever the constiples may think the counts >> is it easy to recognize one of the councmen or they dressed in a similar you know are they dressed similarly >> he said I've never he goes this the the difficult thing about the countsmen is that they look 00:45:52 like everyone else. >> Okay. And how do people know they're the countsmen? >> Uh they bear his symbol. >> Oh, >> a sigil, >> which is >> uh a raven, a black raven on a white field of an in enamel on a on a small cirlet around their necks. >> Oh, okay. >> Like a necklace. >> An amulet of some sort >> kind of. Yeah. Yeah. An amulet. It's he says he describes it as an enameled a white enameled circle with a black stylized raven in the middle. 00:46:19 >> Okay. That is how they identify themselves. >> So they don't necessarily know each other firsthand, but with their medallion, they're able to prove who they are to their >> Well, I I assume they know each other. Um they use the medallion to identify themselves to us >> because they don't there's no there's no uniform. Uh there's no um you know there's no obvious it's not like I've never known them to wear anything but black clothing you know that it's not 00:46:53 like that. Um they look like everybody else and there's sort of like the vibe you get from him is that they're the the count's agents are very sort of secret policey. Um so when they when they do identify themselves to towns folk, they will use these these um these medallions to uh to ensure that the people know that they speak with the count's voice in in these regards to >> ensure compliance. I I whisper to both my goblin friend and our newfound friend. How are your artistic skills 00:47:28 and uh uh and amulet making abilities? >> If it's a glass amulet, I can make a very nice one for you. >> Mhm. >> Well, and then we could color that in because we might want to >> Well, enamel >> become quote unquote councilsman. That might get us past some problems. I don't know. Enamel is powdered glass, but it's usually put on gold, silver, or copper. >> Maybe we could. >> Not my medium. >> For a monk, you are wise in the ways of metallergy. 00:48:04 >> All right, as a freebie, take more metal. >> Can't even help it. be something to think think about, you know, if we need to >> bluff our way past something. I don't know. >> Honestly, if he descri he describes it, they're not they're not huge. Probably the size of a silver dollar and they're usually on a on a thong or a a chain of some sort. >> Uh Zezy wears a thong. Um >> allows for mobility. >> He rips out. Put it on this. Uh, but Dan, you think uh Iggy thinks 00:48:39 that reproducing something like that h might be a little tricky, but you think you could do it. >> Or could uh Auta choir one for us? >> Well, yeah, we might run across one of the countsmen and >> Yeah. >> help liberate it. >> That's >> So, do we just want to approach straight forward or do we want to try to be sneaky? Come around. I I think we just kind of go scope it out. Sounds like >> Yeah. Go. >> Sounds like it the area is avoided. So >> it kind of takes care of itself. 00:49:14 >> Yeah. According to Irwin, the nobody nobody goes there. Nobody certainly nobody goes in there because at best you're provoking because the rumor is that the count's agents will meet there. They will take prisoners there before they move on to take them to the castle to uh castle Ravenloft. they will um you know uh interrogate people there. So at best you're maybe walking into the you know like uh uh you know where where the count's agents would collect, right? Would would would you Yeah. They might 00:49:46 have prisoners there. They might have things. At worst, everybody else thinks it's haunted because of this horrible event that nobody can really describe, but apparently took an entire family out. Uh and so they're um you know they he's like look if you want my advice I would stay away from there. >> Thank you. >> If only for a pract in a practical sense. >> He goes I don't go in much for uh uh for uh the uh the various kinds of legends and stuff like that. Although although 00:50:15 many of the things that people describe there are very real um in in Bovia. Uh but um but he's he's like look tempting tempting the count's agents uh especially as visitors. Um he kind of looks at the goblin and the two orcs and the dwarf at that point. Uh especially as visitors to Bovia. Um tempting the count's agents would only, you know, would only provoke. >> You're right. That seems absolutely foolish. We should do nothing of this sort. >> I agree. More wine. You know, 00:50:49 perhaps a a light lunch. We have an excellent big salad here. >> I say we go explore the town. >> It seemed like there were so many interesting nooks and crannies and there's probably quite a few artisans of unusual uh wares. We should take advantage. >> Well, I have an unusual hobby. I like to collect footwear. So, we should walk around and try to find a shoe maker. >> Footwear. Gotcha. Okay. >> Well, so Irwin feels he gets the he gets the feeling that he has he has sort of 00:51:24 done his job of warning you away from this place uh and uh goes to fetch uh your midday repasted uh as you uh as as as the noon hour approaches. >> What is moose? >> That's how you pronounce museif. >> Oh, gotcha. Oh, moose. Okay. >> Dan was having some trouble with it. I'm gonna have trouble with it. >> I don't know how how much more it'll it'll it'll uh come up. >> You see, >> win. >> So, my goblin friend, how is your perception? You you pretty good eye 00:52:04 sight man. >> Well, let's see here. Um that's a very good question. Uh I am a goblin now. I was raised in a I'm an urban goblin. >> Okay. I'm a very streetwise goblin. I'm not the the the forest goblin or the mountain goblin or the underground goblin. I'm your city goblin, >> which is good. We're in a city. >> So, um, what I'm good at is sneaking around doing goblin stuff. >> I like it. >> So, now >> I say we can we can kind of walk normal, 00:52:42 but maybe have you do a little recon ordering >> out in front of us a little bit. Uh uh kind of reconoiding uh what's what's you know coming up on >> looking for our friend. >> I'm glad you brought that up because that happens to be my one of my specialties um scouting stuff out. So yeah um I can now I'm not really fast cuz you know as you can see I'm a pretty short guy. I'm not sure how exactly how goblins are how tall are goblins, but we're not all that tall. So, I'm not 00:53:17 very fast, but >> does not seem like it's that far. >> Gotcha. All right, cool. I just want I wanted to let you know that. >> And again, you don't need to be that far out ahead. Just, you know, all >> Gotcha. All right. Cool. >> I like to actually keep you in eyesight. >> Disappear shadows now and then. And uh I think my eyesight is I have I I'm able to see in the in the dark. Um but I don't have any specially sharp >> Well, I think once we get to 00:53:51 this this place that that might come in handy. >> Gotcha. All right. And um I I I I I happen to be a goblin who is um I Well, There was a performing show that sometimes kind of unofficially gathered up and sprang up here and there. And I was always often in the show. I do dancing and singing. And >> you were the acrobat, weren't you? >> I also am an acrobat. I I can walk walk on a rope. I can climb stuff if I fall from a height. >> So you're a second So you're a second 00:54:31 story man. >> Second story. Third story. story. I got it. You know, I can climb >> anything. I'm very good at that. >> I I asked my Human friends, uh uh how are how are you in in dark areas? >> I have a light spell on my shield. >> Or do you need a light source? >> I can cast light on my shield. >> You need a light source is what you're saying. >> Yeah, but I can I have a light spell that I can cast on my shield. >> No, no. Yeah. Well, no, that's that's 00:55:02 fine. and and and you >> Iggy. Yeah. >> Yeah. Iggy >> Iggy can generate um a lot of fire in a lot of different ways. >> Okay. Well, I'm I'm just talking light source. >> That would be the light in the park area. >> Yeah, it would be fire though that he would create. Not >> Okay. Okay. But I'm just asking for Yeah. If you guys need light sources. Okay. >> Got it. >> Not a problem. Okay. Well, less unless somebody has any other suggestions. Um, 00:55:37 I think we have our our uh small escort go out a few yards, you know, uh, 20 30 feet or so uh, out in front of us and and maybe we'll start out going a little bit north so it doesn't look like we're making a beline for this death house. >> That's cool. >> All right, so you guys throw off a little pursuit. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> If there's, you know, maybe there's vendors or stalls or >> Well, look at along the way, you know, 00:56:09 just so that it doesn't look like we're, as you say, making a beline. >> Right. Right. Well, um, Ziggy, can you you watch behind us for that guy who was kind of tailing us because you probably have the best recognition of who he is. >> Happy to do so. >> Okay. That way if we see him, we might be able to ask him some questions as >> Right. >> Well, not far from there and uh Irwin's like, "Far be it for me to um to send you to my competitors, but not 00:56:47 far from there is what a place called the Blackwater uh which is a it's not an inn. So, it's not really technically his competitor, but it's not >> You guys are preoccupied with water. >> It's not far from there. It's They are there kind of, aren't they? Um, it's the Blackwater Inn uh or the Blackwater Tavern. >> Blackwater Tavern. >> Yeah. And like I said, it's not a it's not a um it's not an inn, so there's no places to stay. Um, 00:57:15 >> but uh there is Yeah, it's >> uh it does have uh it's just food and food and drink, but it does have both of those. And it's located here. >> Uhhuh. Oh, okay. Okay. >> So, not very far at all. I mean, you if you guys wanted to go through the main square and then cut over there, you could uh you could you could go over there. It's it's just a maybe a block away from the from the Durst Durst place. >> I don't know. What do you guys think? Go 00:57:44 the southern route and come up or loop around the big estate and come down? >> Uh the big estate seems too um >> too wide open. >> Too wide open. Yeah. I'd rather be able to slip between buildings. Okay. >> Okay. Yeah. >> All right. So, you guys go uh and begin walking down there. And is as you step outside of the Blue Water Inn, uh you're immediately struck again by how dark it is during the day here. Uh it's very cloudy, very overcast. Even just a hint 00:58:12 of of rain and moisture in the air. Uh but uh again, it's it's quite it's quite dark for even during the daytime. So, Syracuse >> people uh people will pass you on the street and some of them you know will look up at you and nodu uh you know like in greeting but uh most of them seem to be tending uh you know their own business you know tending their own affairs uh and so uh not uh you know not really um they don't seem to be paying much attention to you. Um soon however you find yourself you pass 00:58:45 the black water and kind of turn left uh and kind of go past some houses. Some of them look some of these houses have signs of life in them. You can see light behind the behind the um you know behind the the windows the shuttered you know all the one thing you do notice about is that all of the houses have very stout shutters on them. Uh very serviceable. Uh so you do see some you do see some lights in some of them. Some of them are dark. you don't know if people are there. Maybe they're out working. Maybe 00:59:12 they're abandoned. Um but as you approach uh the um the place, you immediately are struck and you know exactly where what place you're talking about. >> Okay. >> And that did not work. Hold on a second. >> Mhm. >> Why is it not doing this? Hold on. I hate when I do this. There it goes. Okay. >> Oh, so you approach and you approach the the building and you can see it's old. It's dilapidated. >> Um it uh it looks uh uh strange. Um >> bunch of mail in the mailbox. 01:00:00 >> Yeah. Yeah. The bunch of newspapers on the front porch. Um >> there's light. We can see light coming from the top floor. >> Uh as you approach, yeah, you do see it's the house is quite dark and again it looks it looks abandoned. The yard is overgrown. The trees are dead. Uh I think but you do see what looks to be a ghostly light uh flickering a little bit in the top floor, the fourth story, what looks to be maybe the attic. >> I can climb up there. >> Do Do you want to? and look through the 01:00:35 window. >> Sure, I I could. Yeah. >> You want to climb it? >> I could I I I could send Failen. She can fly. >> Oh, that that that's even a that's a great idea. Also good. Also good. >> And she's very stealthy. >> I was going to say being glass, she's sort of seethrough, so that might be a little >> Yeah. >> Is she particular? >> She's a little see-through. And she's she's kind of quiet. >> Excellent. Excellent. Nice. That's 01:01:00 great. >> The house is kind of structured like this. And you can see that the entrance hall here in the front uh and then you have a main floor, a second floor, a third floor, and then a large uh uh quite pointed attic. Uh several chimneys and that kind of stuff. This would be a picture of what the house would have looked like in better days. It certainly does not look like this. Now, you do see that there is a balcony both on the second floor here >> and on the third floor here. >> Are the windows shuttered presently? 01:01:30 >> They are shuttered indeed. >> Okay. Except for the one at the very top. That window seems to be open. >> Or not open, but you know, the shutters are open. Yeah, >> that one less. >> Which one? Uh, no, this this one right here. The the one that light is coming out. >> Oh, so it' be that that one. >> Yeah, it would be that one there. Yeah, it's a weird It's kind of weirdly shaped in the image, but >> Okay. Nice. >> Yeah. You have her go up and take a 01:01:57 look. >> I'll send Failen up. >> All right. So, Failen's going to fly up there. Uh, does Failen have a perception check or does she use yours? >> She uses >> Sorry. >> Go ahead. >> Oh, no. I was >> She gets a higher one than me. Sorry. She has her own >> She has her own. Okay. >> All right. So, go ahead and roll uh um her uh perception check, please. >> Okay. See if I can make this go smoother this time. There we go. pet familiar. 01:02:32 There's her perception >> 22. Okay. All right. So, she flies up there uh towards the light, but as she gets closer to the window, as she approaches the window, the light seems to dim. Now, to you guys down on the ground, the light still seems to come out of there. It's not a bright light. It's sort of a flickering light, but it does it remains unchanged. But to to uh Feline's perception, as she gets closer to the window, the light seems to dim until the by the time she actually 01:03:08 reaches the window, there doesn't seem to be any light in the room at all. >> Now, she is able to sort of look in there and peer about. Does she have dark vision or anything like that? >> She has low light vision. >> Low light vision. All right. So, in the dim uh in the in the dimness of the room, uh >> and that was because she was nervous that she just remained that wrong. Okay. Uh uh. All right. Um let me see which Oh, yeah. Okay. So, um >> that's funny. When I get nervous, I just 01:03:42 go number one. >> Yeah. I just tinkle a little bit. >> She's better trained than you. >> Yeah. That's without a doubt. >> You'd expect a monkey to be just like that. Uh so, uh so yeah. So basically she's peers into the she lands on the window sill uh and peers into the room and it seems it looks uh you can see inside although the darkness you can see that there looked like uh a there it looks like a bedroom. There looked like there are a couple of small dusty 01:04:14 woodframed beds. They're not adult-sized beds. They look like they may be beds for children. Um there's a toy chest over by the door or some sort of chest. Uh, and it has windmills painted on the side of it. Uh, and a little dollhouse that looks like a perfect replica of this house itself from what you've seen outside. It looks the the dollhouse looks like this house. >> Um, there's cobwebs everywhere. Uh, although one but there's one thing that uh, Feline sees that uh, gives her a 01:04:46 start. Uh, as she spa scans around the house or the room, she sees lying on the floor uh wearing tattered clothing are two small skeletons. >> Oh, >> okay. >> That's childrensized skeletons >> seems. though >> the smaller one, they seem to be in uh clutched together perhaps at the time of their demise. They were uh hugging or or holding each other. Uh in the smaller one's hand looks to be a some sort of maybe stuffed doll of some sort. >> She's very sad by that. 01:05:28 >> When we see the >> But other than that, you don't see anything else in there. When we see her go up to the window, do we see the light diminish? >> No, you do not. The light stays the same. In fact, you can see Feline quite clearly uh in the light coming out of the window. For from Feline's eyes, though, Feline is looking into a dark >> That's interesting. >> Is Seline looking back into a different time? >> I don't know. You can see her. You can 01:05:57 see the monkey uh you know, sort of flitting about, flying around. She lands on the on the thing and and grabs onto the uh you know the sides of the you know one of the the shutters to hold on and >> hey you you you should try to feed the monkey >> when we approached the house should we walk around the house like have we seen the other sides to see if there are other uh >> entrances like this entrances >> you have not gone around the other side >> okay um all right Akuda would like to kind of 01:06:32 just start to scout around the perimeter. Okay. >> And just kind of slowly walking around. I'm obviously I'm looking for, you know, any little trip up snares, little any little trip wires someone might leave or also. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> Any >> footprints, >> doors or trap doors maybe hidden here or there? Anything that most people wouldn't see, I might see. >> Yeah, there's a big sign in the backyard that says trap door this way. Um, the arrow. Uh, no. 01:07:11 >> Give Give me a stealth check and a perception check. >> I can do that. Sure. Let me find my stuff here. Uh, stealth. >> So, one of the things the rest of you, while he's doing that, one of the things the rest of you guys notice is, well, it's a lack of something. There are no people on this street. And since you've arrived here, there haven't been any people on the street. You're just sort of standing. >> I was going to say I'm going to be keeping an eye out for our neighborhood 01:07:35 Raven fans. >> Okay. You don't see anybody. Uh you don't you haven't seen anybody since since you since you turned left at the Blackwater. So, um as you go around, so uh Akurawa, you go around the house and other than the yard being kind of ratty and a couple of other dead trees in the back, uh there's nothing really notable. You can see that there are multiple chimneys uh up on the top. There are those balconies that are sort of uh in the uh in the front, one above the main 01:08:06 entrance and one above the second floor. Um and you can see that kind of stuff, but from behind it really is just sort of a blank wall. It doesn't have the architectural uh sort of uh accuchal that uh are on the front. What you do see, however, is that there are shuttered, in this case, windows for all four floors going up the back wall. >> Shuttered windows. >> Is there a back door, a back entrance? >> You do not see any back door or anything like that. >> Wow. Really? Okay. No back door. That 01:08:37 totally breaks fire code. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Anyway, >> they might not have OSHA in Bovia. >> Well, maybe that's why it's called Death House. Do >> no back door. Okay. >> Doesn't meet doesn't meet fire standards. >> That's right. >> On the on the front yard or the path going up to the front door, do we see any um tracks or footprints any >> traffic? >> Yeah. that that because because uh Irwin had said that you know the rumor is that 01:09:09 they that the >> ear. >> So you're looking around for like footprints, disturbed uh um >> recent use. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Trampled grass, trampled, you know, vegetation. >> Okay. Um give me a survival check. Survival 19. Okay. Yeah. So, um you look around and you do at first you don't uh see much. Everything's pretty overrun and that kind of stuff. Uh but you do see that there you do find a single footprint on uh the approach about 8 ft away from the stairs that lead up to the 01:09:52 entrance way. you find a single footprint that is only now starting to sort of melt into the soil. Um you know with uh uh you know with the rain and stuff like that you know footprints kind of get washed away. This one has been here a while but certainly not for 15 years >> and and is it is it does it seem like is it a working person's boot? Is it low? does seem to be a booted foot uh man's size, not uh a large. Probably a size 10 or 11. So, a large or larger man's foot >> in a boot, 01:10:26 >> but it's just the single footprint. >> Is that considered large? I look at um I I look at at uh at Gary US Bond's foot um Ziggy's foot and uh and see if it's the you know that size. >> Uh you mean uh Jim's character's foot? No, no. Dan's >> Dan's character's foot. Uh Dan, how tall are you? Your is your character. Is he six feet tall? Is he more than six feet tall? >> Yeah, six feet flat. >> Six feet flat. All right. So, yeah, it's 01:10:56 probably a little bit bigger than his foot. >> Okay. >> So, he didn't make the track. >> I just don't know. I don't know feet. How you know if that's big, little? What? >> Uh it's reasonably big for a human, but not uh not enormous. >> It's your feet. Your feet are are larger. as as our as our uh uh tenants feet. >> Um well, we might as well try the front door since seems to be the only way in. Do we want to have uh a couta just give a the porch and stuff a glance over? 01:11:32 >> Yeah. Yeah. Why don't I see what um what the way of entry consists of because it looks like it's a lock gate or a gate. >> Okay, one second. I'm in the middle of doing something here. >> I'm looking at these houses past it. They do not look like they're inhabited either. >> They do not look inhabited either. It looks like whatever >> next to a haunted house. >> Yeah. Whatever went wrong here, uh, it went wrong in a big way. >> Well, this time of year, you can charge 01:12:00 a mission, make some dough. >> See? >> All right. So, you approach the uh you approach the um the front door and kind of take a look at it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Uh if Auto will >> There's uh So, there is Whoops. Where did we go here? >> You've got two Velcro characters on there. >> You shouldn't even be here yet. So, >> it's really dark. >> Let's do that first. Uh yes, I do. So, um So, yeah. So as you approach uh you see that the entrance way is uh blocked 01:12:42 by a rot iron gate that fills this sort of archway of the stone portico. You could sort of see it in this image um right here. You can see it sort of right here. You can see there's like a stone portico and then uh uh there is a is a a row iron gate. Um it doesn't look like it's locked and there's sort of a a foyer there. And as you look forward, there's there's a couple of a couple of hooks where these black iron probably they were one at one point they were oil lamps. They're quite corroded now. Uh 01:13:15 but they're still hanging from chains um you know in the in the thing. >> Does there seem to be a coach house or anything attached? >> No, nothing like that. >> Okay. >> Okay. Uh um I I will have glass. >> I I will go up there, look around. I'll look for anything that looks tricky or hidden or any way to open up the gate. >> Okay. Uh go take a look at that. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. So, you approach quietly uh and uh and trying not to you know, maybe 01:13:53 trying not to You're a little worried because you're like, I don't want to alert anything inside. Uh but you uh uh nothing like comes and and yells at you or anything like that. Get out of there. Uh or anything like that. As you approach the gate, you do see that there is um equipment for a padlock. Uh but you don't see any padlock and evidence. Your case, you don't see any lock at all. Uh theoretically, you could just open up that gate. >> Okay, I will open up the gate. 01:14:23 >> Okay. Uh so as uh you open up the gate and it's like then you realize that you might have made a mistake because as you open it up it makes a ton of noise of screeches. You have to kind of yank on it a little bit. >> I'll lube that up for you. >> You got any oil? Uh but he's like it kind of like and it you know you kind of have to force it and it makes a lot of noise. The rest of you are sort of looking up and down the street but you don't see anybody. >> Okay. Well, you know, uh it what if it 01:14:54 was a a a stray cat trying to get in or something >> and and the light never waivers above while he's doing that? >> Uh one second. You're in the wrong spot. >> Something's happening. Uh >> yeah, one second. All right. Why then can we not see you guys? >> I just saw >> you see us. Oh, wait. It's because we're at the very top. >> Yeah, you guys should be here. >> Yeah. >> All right. Can you see anything? >> Just outside the grass. 01:15:42 >> You see the grass? Okay. Because I can't on my on my thing. So, I'm going to I'm going to take one character >> and turn him into my character. >> I just feel like >> Is the door still closed though? Didn't Didn't Akudagawa just open it? >> Yes. So, it should be open now. Is it open now? >> I don't see anything. >> No, I see something. >> The outside gate or gate? Let's uh let me do this here real quick. I need a light. 01:16:20 Oh, wait. I'll do this. Oh, you know what? I bet we haven't done the vision on you guys yet. >> Oh, >> hold on. Vision. Yeah, nobody's got vision. All right. So, you have uh everybody's got regular vision. Anybody have dark vision? >> Yes, orcs do. >> The orcs do. Okay. So, >> the dwarf, dwarf wood, the goblin wood, >> the goblin. All right, I'm just going to give everybody >> I almost never have a character. >> Hasty humans don't have dark vision. 01:16:52 >> Yeah, >> I admire the I admire the gumption of the humans. [Laughter] >> This is great. >> They're willing to go into dark areas. >> There we go. Now we can see some stuff. >> Oh, interesting. >> All right, hold on. Let me get everybody hooked up. >> Uh I still only can't see past the door, but it's it'll be fine. >> I haven't got you yet. >> Oh, you haven't got me yet. Okay. >> I haven't got you yet. 01:17:22 Okay, >> that's interesting. Okay. Huh. >> All right. One second. Sorry about this. I totally forgot. Oh, there's some some of you have have some Okay. Let's just do that. And there's our >> dwarfish girl. Okay, that should be a little better. Okay, everybody can see. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> See outside. >> This is opened. There we go. All right. So, uh so you can you pull that away and you can see that there is that sort of entrance way. You can see the foyer. You 01:18:03 can see that there are um things, you know, the the the lamps are hanging the the are hanging on the these chains on the next uh thing. Uh and there is another door uh in front of you. Now, this one is obviously it's the same it's the same shape. It's got that same sort of oval shape uh but uh it is obviously the front door, the entrance door to the home itself. >> You're still sort of technically sort of outside in a covered area. We do not see a staircase in this room at all. 01:18:33 >> No, it's nothing like that. It's more like a foyer. >> Okay. >> Is it like a porch or is it like actually in the house like a foyer? >> It's in the house but it's open to the outside. Right. So if you know uh it only has instead of like a door sealing it off from outside, it just has that iron gr that iron gate. >> Uh so it's technically it's under the roof. Um, you could come in here out of the rain if you wanted to. >> But it's still open to the elements, 01:19:00 >> but it's still uh Yeah, you could you could come in out of the rain, but you couldn't come in out of the cold. >> I'll step inside. >> Yeah, will also come and as she steps onto the porch, she will draw her swordanded. >> Okay. >> Low so that if anyone were watching, they wouldn't notice the sword. Hopefully. >> All right. So, sort of surreptitiously, you've got a sword in your hand. >> Yeah. >> All right. All right. All right. Sounds good. 01:19:29 >> I'll I'll step over and check the door. >> Okay. >> Is it unlocked? >> It does seem There doesn't seem to be any obvious lock on it. >> Then I'll move to open. >> Do we hear Do we hear anything from inside at this point? >> Give me perception check. Well, Tenzen, you know, in Ordom, an unlocked door is the same as an invite. >> A locked door, too, really for that matter. >> Well, yeah, a locked door is just means you need to dock uh knock before you 01:20:01 come. >> So, Guggilda uh places her dwarfish earier against the uh against the she's like, "Everybody shut up. I'm trying to listen." Uh and uh rolls a 19. You do not hear anything on the other side of that door. However, with a 19, you do, although you don't hear any noise on the other side of the door, you do feel almost, it's almost imperceptible, but like a vibration under the floor in the room. >> That's just Tenins's nervous. >> It's not a noise. It's more of a 01:20:31 vibration. It's very gentle. >> But once everybody stopped moving, it was easier to perceive. Even Even now, uh you're you're not quite sure that you felt it. I I I'm telling you, it's Tenzen's ne restless leg syndrome. You got a seven foot guy with a restless leg. Everything's just shaking, man. >> The whole house. >> Well, then before I open that door, let's have um um >> Auda. >> A couta check it then. Okay. >> And I'll step to the right. 01:21:07 >> It's just a step to the right. Is it just >> unless I look down the street, I don't see anybody? >> No, that's uh Yeah, it's interesting in that you don't see anybody at all. Uh no one has approached even though it's it's, you know, early afternoon and when you guys came down this way, you definitely did see other people. In fact, you know, uh I mean, you would probably call them not very good greetings. I mean, nobody was like, "Hey, new people. How's it going? 01:21:34 Welcome to welcome to Bakia." >> Welcome to Bakia. No, he's wearing I heart Vakia shirts. >> Exactly. No, there was none of that. They see the people seem to have checked that door. >> Okay. All right. Uh uh and that's a less Is that a per perception check? >> Uh yes. Yes, it is. >> Perception check. >> Looking around for traps or tricks. >> Uh it's not thievery. It's a perception. >> Yeah. You're not you're not stealing 01:22:03 anything. Not yet. So I'm surprised somebody hasn't come up with a anatomical I anatomical heart bovia oria >> bovia. It probably did. >> All right. I will >> got your message. >> Okay. So yeah, you notice well the first thing you notice is the door does not seem to be unlocked. It has a big ornate kind of uh you know handle on it. Uh and it's a big stout door. This is a well-made place. Um, now it's obviously I mean compared to the cobwebs and everything that you see around here, 01:22:36 it's obvious that this place has been not very much used uh for a long time. Um, but uh but you know, it was at one time certainly the house of a of a of a at least a moderately wealthy burger. Um, the door itself doesn't look you don't you don't uh burgers. Uh, you do see the door itself doesn't look like it's trapped in any way. Yeah. I mean, you don't see any any any traps or anything like that. It's definitely you don't see any locks either. Um, it does it seems to be a a 01:23:09 large formerly somewhat grand front door. >> Wonderful. I shall open the the >> And it's made of wood. >> It's wood. Yeah. Stout wood it looks like. >> Okay. Great. I'm going to open up that door and >> All right. The door opens up and inside is a second foyer with another uh with another door at the end of it. Uh Akuragawa as you step in you notice that in this place now to to Gwen's question earlier now you are in out of the cold um as opposed to just in out of the 01:23:41 rain. In this case it is a fairly um I mean it's a fairly fancy sort of entrance foyer. Uh you could you don't see any furniture, but you do see that there looks to be a coat of arms of some sort on a shield uh on the on the east wall and alongside it it looks like some sort of painting. >> I see. Okay. >> Interesting. >> Um Okay. >> Painting of the family. >> It's possible. >> Okay. Um I'm going to once again check the room for for traps or tricks. 01:24:16 >> Okay. You going to take a look around? Give me a perception check. give me a uh survival check if you uh wanting to look for those kind of uh those kind of disturbances in the floor. >> Yeah, you don't see anything. Um there's no obvious footprints. It doesn't look like the dust is disturbed. There's still a ton of like cobwebs and stuff around. Uh but you don't see you don't see that the the the ground has been disturbed. >> Okay. Can I see the uh what the uh 01:24:46 painting on the wall or the code of arms look? >> Yeah, absolutely. You go and take a look at him. >> Yes, please. >> Indeed. Well, >> I might have Iggy go check that, too. Interestingly, probably a little more in depth at the arts. >> Iggy might might know. So, uh >> if you go over there, you see a couple of things. So, first you know, the first thing you notice is the code of arms. It is a It is on a painted on a on a wooden shield and it looks to be a red field 01:25:13 with the image the stylized image of a windmill in gold on the on the front of it. >> Donote. >> It's possible I may this may have been his house. Uh or Sancho's house, one of the two. Uh as you take a look, there is a small plate on the uh on the window it on the on the portrait and underneath it says Mr. Gustav and Elizabeth Durst with their two children, Thornbolt and Rose of uh Roosevelt. >> Wait, aren't there three children there? >> Yeah, and the one in the baby. 01:25:50 >> There is a baby in the arms, but he is not listed on the on the painting. >> I I asked uh I asked Iggy if uh Feline said they saw saw skeleton clutching a doll. Was that correct? >> Yeah. Yes. >> The dial in the photo or in the painting. >> I I will I will I would sense that from Failen. Does it look similar? >> It's of similar size and shape. Um but Failen didn't get all too close to it and it was covered in bones, frankly. You know, clutch clutched into the 01:26:25 >> It looks like it's missing an eye or >> about the It's about the same size and shape, though. She will admit. >> Failen isn't super familiar with human dolls. >> Yeah. Gotcha. And it's, you know, hundreds of years old now. But yeah, >> sure. >> Well, at least 15 years old. Yeah, they said that they said that the incident happened about 15 years ago. >> Oh, sorry, I missed that part. >> Oh, okay. So, um, how old would would we guess this painting is 40 years? 01:26:52 >> Uh, no, not much older than that. I would say probably >> probably around the same time. 15, 17 years old, somewhere in there. Hard to tell with paintings, you know. Um, you know, but it looks like the wear on it is is similar to other things around the house. Same with the shield. >> Covered in dust. >> It is. >> And there's no vandalism. It's not like anyone has tried to deface it or uh >> No, nothing like that. It looks like it's been untouched for over a decade. 01:27:23 >> I was expecting pruning shears in the wife's throat coming out. >> Oo, great reference. Don KN. references that >> Ghost and Mr. Chicken. >> The which one? >> Yeah, Ghost and Mr. Chicken. >> Yeah, >> I don't think I don't think I've ever seen that movie. >> Oh, you have not seen that? >> I have to Luther. >> I have to expand my Don Nuts uh catalog. >> Remarkable actor. >> Is he still alive? >> No, sir. 01:27:57 >> No, no, no. >> He passed away. Passed away. So, is that a shield shield or just a a >> You say you examine it. So, Tensson examines it. Yeah, it is. Uh you wouldn't >> It's a shield. It's made of wood. It has a strap, but it's not something you would want to use for combat. It's definitely to your eyes, it's decorative. >> Okay. >> Also covered with a similar amount of dust. >> Okay. Uh, is this is this portrait seem to be is it directly painted on the wall or is 01:28:32 it something that's a >> No, it's got a frame around it. >> Yeah, it's it's it's on a canvas. >> Okay. So, is it possible to take a peek behind? >> Sure, absolutely. >> I don't know. Very eerie move. >> Yeah, I'll do that. I'll I'm not taking my hands off my sword. I got two hands on my sword, so I'll go up and take it off the wall for you. Oh, okay. >> Uh, all right. So, if you take it off the if you take it off the wall, at 01:28:59 first all you see is wall. Uh, and then as your your eyes are still sort of getting used to the darkness inside here and that kind of thing, you do see about and this is and and this is actually goes a lot to Gruggild's size because you're guessing that some of one of the orcs, you know, being very tall would not have seen this, but about 4 feet off the ground, it looks like there's a little hole drilled in the wall. >> Is there a corresponding hole in the uh in the portrait? No, 01:29:33 >> interesting. >> The portrait is large enough where it dropped down large far enough where it would cover the hole, but only just >> so like this little this little part right here. >> Can you guys see that? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That little part of the bottom that covered the hole. >> That tail. >> Gotcha. >> Um Auda will do a check for hidden doors, traps, tricks >> on the on the hole. >> Yes, sir. >> Or on the other door. Um, yes, both. 01:30:02 >> Okay. All right. Prov. >> The hole just looks like a hole. You don't see any traps or anything associated with it. It looks like a hole. And it looks like it was >> it looks like it was >> not drilled, but like maybe carved like cuz you can see that some of it. It's not a perfect circle. >> Um, it's like ob, you know, misshapen and that kind of thing. >> How big or round is it? >> About uh maybe 3/4 of an inch. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, it might be a peepphole. 01:30:32 >> Is gonna sort of because that's just that's just where her she might actually have to stretch up a wee bit to get her eye there. >> Okay. >> To peek, but she will look. >> I'll pick you up if you want. >> I mean, I don't think it's not that much. It's really >> Would you like me to find you a box? You peek in there. I'm gonna peek in there. Okay. Uh, you do not see anything. Complete darkness. Uh, it's possible >> I have dark vision. 01:31:05 >> Yes, but I mean there's you don't there's no there's nothing to see. It's possible that something may be blocking it on the other side. >> Well, the the thinnest thing I have is like either a metal spike or a coil. >> Well, we we can just go in and and and go around and check on the other side. >> That's true. >> Oh, Akuragawa. uh the the the door that you the other door the door to the north door to the north is unlocked and uh does not uh uh you know does not seem to 01:31:35 have any traps on it or anything like that >> back. All right. >> Okay. >> That door I'm talking about that one right there. >> Got it. So >> that should all right. So um uh is this door unlocked here? >> It is. >> Yes, sir. I will go through it. >> All right. >> Yeah. Go ahead. Right behind him. Right behind him. So he's not alone if something terrible happens. >> It's I think you know what? I think this is not a place where we're going to get 01:32:05 ambushed by monsters. I think >> just to screw around with them. I'll close the door behind them. >> Pretend that you did. >> Who closed that? I didn't do it. Uh just kid. All right. So you enter into what looks to be some sort of main hall. Uh there's a there's a large spiral staircase going upwards uh at the eastern edge. >> Um and there's a large fireplace uh standing where where Tenzen is uh sort of there. There's no um uh there's no fire in it or anything like that as 01:32:37 beits an uh you know a abandoned place. Uh although there is ashes and uh and stuff like that. Uh there's no but there's no coals or anything like that and it is cold to the touch if you reach down and try and check it out. Uh, other than that, it is a a main hall. It looks like it runs the entire width of the house. Um, and a big black, you know, there's a big the fireplace has a big black marble kind of mantle above it. Um, >> uh, >> mounted up. Go ahead. >> Any burnt residue or anything in the 01:33:12 fireplace that would determine if it's been used within a certain amount of time? There is some ashes and and some partially burned wood >> recent >> if that's interesting to you. >> Well, I might well somebody would have seen smoke come from the house possibly, but >> it's possible. Yeah. Do you reach down there and check it out? Kind of stir it around a little bit. >> Mhm. >> Completely cold. >> Okay. >> And it doesn't look like there's been a 01:33:37 fire in here for a while. Uh, as you look at the fireplace, you also see that mounted above the fireplace is a large sword uh with it looks like there's a uh if you knock the dust off, you can see past the dust. It looks like there's a like a gold painted inlay of some sort on the hilt that looks like a windmill similar to the one that was on the shield outside. So, it's a big big sword uh across across the top of you know hung above the fireplace >> like a twoanded sword. Can you say big 01:34:08 >> uh long sword? >> Oh, okay. >> It would be so it would be big to it would be big to um uh it would be big to Grugilda and uh Akuragawa, but the rest of you would be like, "Oh, this is a toothpick." Um the p the wood the the walls are panled in wood uh and uh have are sculpted with images of vines and flowers, nymphs, like outside kind of stuff. Um uh so you can um but it it looks it's quite it's quite good. Again, completely covered with dusk. >> Does the is the sword serviceable? 01:34:46 >> Uh you pull it off of there. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Uh you pull it down. Uh and surprisingly, I mean, you were expecting more decorations. Uh but this is a serviceable sword. In fact, it does look like it has been used. Uh you can see that um well, it hasn't been cared for in a long time. So there's a little bit of corrosion uh in you know in the thing. The scabbard itself, the leather is beginning to fray a bit. Um you know uh you do see that the blade of the sword uh is you know got some it got 01:35:16 some evidence that it has been used in combat and not adequately you know not completely repaired afterwards. So there's maybe a little notch here, a little bend, you know that kind of thing. >> Didn't the tarot say something about a suns? >> A suns sword? Yeah. She said, uh, if we go back >> Well, this is it, man. This has got to be >> Can can anybody use a uh >> a sword of sunlight? >> Saying is Velcro or Iggy? You proficient with the sword? >> Negative. 01:35:43 >> Not Iggy. >> I am not. I'm not. >> I I guarantee you Grunhilda is. If it's a long sword, she could use it. >> Yeah. >> It's probably taller than she is. >> Yeah. I have my trusty bastard sword though because you know >> this one we know whose father it is. >> Right. But mine does does lovely damage to >> Yeah. No, I'm not. Yeah. Um >> what do you made of is it made of steel or >> steel, not silver? >> You want to see if it's magical? 01:36:18 >> Yeah. Do you want to cast a detect magic on it? >> Uh I'm gonna do my cantrip. >> Okay. which is >> uh the money. >> Uh >> so is it pretty dark in this room? >> It is. Yeah, there's no existing light. Uh it looks like it also looks like whatever furniture may have been in here or anything like that. It kind of looks like Well, >> there's no furniture in here to speak of. just the fireplace and the and the stairs. Um, it does look like it may 01:36:57 have been sort of like a reception hall of sorts, maybe. Uh, it's possible there was some furniture here in the past, but there's none here now. >> Hey, less unless I tell you different. When I walk into a room, I'm going to have my shield at the ready. >> Okay. >> Can we uh Well, maybe I can check out this door. Have a listen. See if I hear anything because I feel like the room where we saw the peepphole is this room right here. >> It's possible. Yeah. Uh did you did you 01:37:28 did you do a perception check? >> Uh no, but I will I will do a perception check. >> Yeah, detect magic is a cantrip, but it takes time and depending on how much time you spend with it. Uh you can use it. You can feel the pulse of pres. It's a three it's a threeaction cantrip. Uh uh you receive no other information beyond the presence or absence of magic. >> No. >> So since we're not in combat, it probably doesn't matter that it's three actions. >> No, no, it's fine. Uh Belvelro. Uh John, 01:37:57 are you going to detect magic? >> Well, yeah, but when I hit cast, it doesn't work. >> Yeah, it's up on the screen, John. >> I know. I had to copy and paste it. >> Oh, that stinks. All right, we'll have to sort that out at some point. Uh, is it are you using the character sheet from your other uh Velcro character because I got the new one in. >> Oh, >> no. I'm using the new one. But the same thing same thing happened last week. >> Is there a thing like uh like on mine 01:38:26 there's like a little >> Oh, no. That's not true at all. Uh I feel like there's Oh, I'm thinking of the new uh the 2024 5e. Uh there's like a there's like a it looks like um you know in a cartoon when they have the bubble where they're thinking or where >> Yeah. Yeah. You have to click on like this little bubble thing to make it go to the chat. It's kind of strange. >> Yeah. There's no popup here. It just it says cast. I'm using um demilane. I'm gonna have to 01:39:01 switch over to the regular version. Okay. All right. Uh, Gruggilda, did you do a perception? >> Oh, you did 22. All right. So, yeah, you're listening at Again, Grildilda leans forward and uh like, "Everybody shut up. I'm trying to listen." Uh, and Gruggilda, at first, you don't not you don't hear anything. Although, you do think you may have heard just about when you are stopping. Maybe like a little squitch sound. You're not sure. >> Very faint. Interesting. 01:39:36 >> Does the door look locked? >> Uh, it does not look locked. It is closed, though. >> I think you can click on an unlocked door and it will open. >> I'm going to kick it. >> Going to kick it open. >> I'm going to kick it open. >> All right. >> Try to pick the luck if you want. Okay. >> It flies open. >> Locked. I just don't want to take my hands off my sword. >> All right. You kick it open with your foot, it it kind of like wiggles on the thing if you 01:40:06 as you kick, you know, have a kick a door and so you don't uh you know, sometimes it doesn't just fly open. It just kind of, you know, wiggles open. And you look in and you can see that there is a it looks like a den of some sort. Maybe a uh a place where men might meet and have their port. Uh it looks it looks like a hunter's den. Uh there's a fireplace on the other side over here and mounted above it uh is a large stag's head. Uh and positioned around the room and you can sort of see them. 01:40:36 There's one here and one here. And over here there are uh stuffed uh uh um uh wolves uh full wolves, taxiderermy wolves that are on on little on little wood pedest like little wood platforms and they're sort of scattered about in different kind of three different wolves that are in like three different poses, you know, kind of thing. There's a little table over here in the in the south corner and you see a couple of different like cabinets or bureaus uh you know, here and there. Uh, and then 01:41:05 there looks to be like a desk on top of um, uh, with a couple of chairs on top of uh, what looks to be some some animal skin rugs of some sort. >> Do I see anything like mice or rats or rat droppings? That would be that that scratching sound. >> Give me a perception check. >> Uh, does anybody want this sword then? >> Well, I think we ought to take >> It does not radiate magic, John. Sorry. >> Can't really use the sword. Although they're going to know where it came 01:41:35 from, so >> yeah, but I don't want to carry it. So, >> Gotcha. Well, I'll just put it on the mantle for the time. >> I'm going to put it right back on the mantle then on >> That's good. >> You look around. At first, you don't see anything, but in the corner uh behind one of the wolves, you do see what looks suspiciously like rat droppings. >> Rat drops? Why is it always got to be rats? >> Oh, rats. Let me know when I can cast a spell, please. 01:42:00 >> Uh, you cast anytime you want. Okay, I'm going to cast a spell called Mystic Armor. >> Mystic Armor. What is that? Can you put it in the Will it go into the thing from your character sheet or Ah, here we go. Mystic armor. Uh, two action spell. Uh, you give yourself a ward of magical energy. So, you guys see like this play um Xandelus Xanderas is like this place seems dangerous. Better better glove up. And uh he does a quick spell uh and suddenly you see him covered in in shimmering magical energy. 01:42:32 >> Yeah, this last until my next time repair spell. So >> there you go to have it. >> Oh, >> all right. You are mystically armored. >> Okay, >> Tuggild. Yeah, you kind of look around and um you don't hear anything, but you did see the rat droppings. It also one thing you would notice uh as a Kudagawa uh steps into sort of by your side is that this bureau right here >> uh where that hole size would be >> would be would be approximately where the hole would be. 01:43:02 >> We should open that and see >> push it out of the way >> or push it push it out of the way. Yeah, I was thinking maybe someone drilled right through and then you could go into the the bureau or the armwire, what have you. But >> uh the one that the one there, the one that you're standing in front of, Gilda, does not have a lock on it. But the one over by the north on the north wall has a very obvious padlock on it. >> Oh, you should definitely open them both. But 01:43:35 >> locksmith, >> you're used to kicking things. So, >> I'm used to kicking though. >> Um, if you like, I'm glad to take a try at these locks, you know. >> Uh, it's this one over here. Auda, >> I I I'll go over here. Okay, first of all, I want to check everything for traps, please. >> Okay, go for it. >> This This place just gives me the creeps and and uh I'm a little bit of a jumpy, nervous guy sometimes. Anyway, where am I? Uh, Don't be nervous. Well, haunted 01:44:08 house is the place for you, sir. >> Right. So, anyway, here's my prestige. Here we go. I I'm going to check for traps. >> All right. Uh, you don't see You're looking on the cabinet, I'm assuming. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> The cabinet does not look trapped. You don't see any any obvious uh thing uh any evidence of traps. However, the lock is locked. >> That's great. I'm going to um pick that lock, sir. >> All right. All right. Opening a lock is 01:44:30 a uh uh uh I believe oh it should be an actual pick a lock act action, right? >> I think it's thievery. >> Uh in this case, pick a lock is manipulate. >> Okay. Uh opening a lock without a key is very similar to disabling device, but the DC is the check is determined of complexity of construction. >> There might be a key on the desk somewhere. >> It's possible. >> I have a key right here. Speciallessly looks like >> Yes, it is thievery. Sorry. >> Like a fist. 01:45:02 >> Gotcha. >> It looks like a fist. Did you say >> it's a skeleton? >> Big club. >> All right. Here we go. Thievery. >> All right. Proves pretty easy to your deft uh uh deft hands. You pull out your uh your your your lock picks and like, "Ah, finally a challenge." And uh sort of start digging around in there. It does. It proves not to be as much a challenge as as you once thought because it it comes apart pretty easily. >> Okay. Got it. Great. All right. So, 01:45:32 what's inside? >> You open it up. The cabinet opens up and it looks to be uh a uh a weapons cabinet. Inside are a uh are two crossbows. One uh uh three crossbows actually. Uh one uh one a large heavy crossbow. Uh, another a smaller, lighter version. Um, this one is is sort of some filigree on it, so perhaps it was made for a woman. Uh, and and then sitting in a small case is a hand crossbow of exquisite manufacturer. >> That's pretty cool. >> The heavy crossbow, the heavy crossbow 01:46:10 looks like a like a like a working crossbow. The other ones are more detailed. the light crossbow uh you know is is um you know it's it's carved this is going to sound really stupid but it's carved with a feminine hand kind of to it. Uh it looks like a woman's crossbow. Uh and then the hand crossbow is just exquisitely made just uh um you know just absolutely fantastic. All three are covered in dusk dust. There are also a uh a series of cases underneath each crossbow uh that as you 01:46:42 as you you look down and you sort of open them up hold uh bolts sized for each each weapon. >> Each each case has 20 bolts. So a heavy crossbow, a light crossbow, and a hand crossbow each with 20 bolts. >> Iggy or Velcro, are you proficient with it? And a coutagawa, can you fire a hand crossbow? Are you proficient with that? >> You know, I I'm not proficient. I tell you no, I am packing heat. No, >> I'm just saying a hand crossbow is pretty cool. >> Well, Iggy says, "I know how to use a 01:47:15 hand crossbow and and that one's very beautiful. My patron would love for for me to protect >> the hand crossbow, you know." Um, >> that's fine by me. >> Doesn't need the crossbow at all. So, anybody wants the crossbows, go for it. >> Give it to Iggy if he wants that one. >> Velcro. You're not proficient with the crossbow. >> I'm only a simple guy. Just trying to make a simple living. >> Well, why don't why don't you take Why 01:47:39 don't you take one in worst case scenario? >> Yeah, the uh just a regular crossbow is considered >> uh it's considered a weapon. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> My god, my god has given me way more powers than that. >> We're on we're on a pocket and God may not answer you. >> Bold statement. Bold statement. Does that cross and anybody ain't my brother? >> He's got to dial it up. AOL. >> Gotcha. >> Well, does does um >> We'll we'll take we'll take them. We'll 01:48:13 we'll bring him with us. >> Well, the the heavy crossbow that that's got to be a commitment though. I mean, that's that's big. >> Even the light crossbow. >> Can we sell it later on? Maybe put it in part treasure. >> Yeah. Yeah, we we that's what I'm thinking. The sword that stuff we'd sell. But for right now, we should just especially the the more ornate ones, we should take those. >> Right. >> Sword might be a hard item to sell since 01:48:35 it has the code of arms right on. >> Yeah, we got some we got some >> wipe it off. >> Magic eraser. >> Maybe we could turn it to its rightful owners or, you know, descendants. >> I think its rightful owners are dead. Um, pick. >> Yes, the people who live in the house. Yeah. Les, I'm gonna open that cabinet right there. >> Go ahead and write down hand. What kind of >> Can I do Can we do a series of checks on the carvings? Maybe figure out if it's 01:49:05 belonging to some sort of lure >> on the crossbows or >> Yeah, the crossbow and the sword. >> And the sword. All right. >> Got the the um the windmill. >> Yeah, it looks like it's that may have been the Durst family crest is this windmill kind of thing. Uh, and the sword did have a windmill, uh, you know, emlazed on the hilt. Uh, the crossbows don't, uh, you take a quick look at them, they don't look like they have any specific heraldrich symbolism or anything like that other than being the 01:49:34 two the two littleer ones having been of high quality manufacturer. >> Um, but beyond that, >> detect magic on the hand one less. >> Okay. There it does not radiate magic as far as you can tell. It is a It is a uh mundane hand crossbow, although excellently made. >> Okay. >> Um, as PE people inspect these crossbows, I'll be searching around throughout the room. Any more loot? Any more traps anywhere? Can I check for traps in the >> Well, uh, before you do that, you can 01:50:09 you go ahead and roll the perception when you get a chance, Tenzen. As you open up the other cabinet, uh you see that this one uh looks to be something of a bar cabinet. Uh there are a series of wine glasses uh set uh in rows. Um you also see what look to be uh a stack of decks of different kinds of cards. Uh so it's possible uh and there's also uh the loose wine bottle or two in there. >> Are they tarot cards? >> They're not tarot cards. They look to be like playing cards. 01:50:43 >> Ah, pull the playing cards out. >> Okay. Examine them. >> Yeah. Give them a glance over. >> You don't find any tarot cards in there, and they look pretty well used, although one of the decks seems to be much newer. Um, there's probably three or four different decks uh uh of different of different types. Um, but they look they look they look like somebody used the I mean, they look like they'd been used. >> Mhm. Uh, pack them away in a in a pack. >> Okay. There are there are four decks 01:51:16 total. >> Four decks. >> Oh, >> for the bridge party. >> Yeah. >> Interesting. >> Well, there is a right next to that there's a little table uh that, you know, could easily have been, you know, a card table. There's four seats at it. Um, you know, the this this looks like an area where, you know, the men may have repaired to enjoy their port. Uh, and perhaps throw a few uh games of wis around. >> I see >> what what what about these wolves? Is 01:51:51 there anything that we can I'm very interested because you know wolves we were attacked by wolves. >> Werewolves arrived >> well and also at the blue water in they had >> wolves skins all over. Yeah. >> Yeah. And uh they're a popular and and so the the explanation that you remember that Irwin gave you was basically that wolves are very much a problem uh for around here you know as um and you get the impression that it's because because this is a demilane and may not be very 01:52:27 large um food production is probably very important and wolves would be an a significant impediment to that especially ranching uh you know animal animal farming. So, um, it seemed like at least at least from Irwin's point, you know, there were there were wolf skins kind of tattered around and and that kind of stuff. And he me I think he made mention of a couple of people who were, you know, wolf hunters that would bring those skins there and that kind of thing. Hunting wolves seems popular. 01:52:56 >> But do these wolves seem you said that they're they're posed in different poses like they seem >> Does it seem like >> taxiderermy, >> right? But does does it seem like they're posed like like fearsome that they've been conquered or does it seem like they've been posed like they're they're cute stuffed animals that are curled up and sleeping on the ground? >> More like in fearsome poses, you know, like an activity like rampant. Yeah. Ah, 01:53:25 you know, that kind of thing. Or Yeah. Not like not like dogs. Uh although I don't know that people stuff their dogs, but um these are these to your eyes. I don't I don't I don't know that anybody was, but I don't necessarily want to say that it never happens. So, um >> is that a deer skin and a bear skin? >> It looks like Yeah. >> pull them up. Just lift them up. >> You're going to lift up those skins underneath the table. >> Yep. Sure. >> All right. As you lift them up, you hear 01:54:00 a squeak squeak squeak down >> and out runs >> a whole group of rats and they come out and who was it? Tensson you you peaked under there. >> Mhm. >> They come running out at you, squeaking away. >> Oh man. >> And on the attack. Let's roll for >> Oh man. >> It's on. It's on. >> It looks like a whole swarm of rats. >> So now you found food, Tenzen. from. So now do we is it perception to get initiative because what I was reading is perception is the initiative 01:54:37 but what does the initiative button do? Uh P it so it's per uh so initiative is um so initiative uh >> is perception >> is per similar yeah it's similar okay >> well you can roll initiative with stealth if you were like stealthing right >> uh yeah of course >> if you're stealthing I don't know that anybody is right now though >> okay all right let me Oh, sorry. I didn't I didn't have the thing out. So, let's get the turn order in place. See 01:55:14 what she looks like. Uh, >> these rats at Oh, rats. >> Oh, great. >> How come I didn't automatically populate? What did I do wrong? >> I don't know. >> Did you click on your your face? >> Oh, yeah. >> I thought I had click on your token. >> I didn't try that. >> I didn't have to. It It automatically popped up. >> It's not in the turn order, though. Hold on. I got to check something. I can't Oh, I was looking at the wrong thing. I 01:55:42 was looking at intelligence, not initiative. >> They're rats. They don't have much. >> There we go. It's plus three. Sorry. So, what did I roll? Uh rolled a two plus three would be five. So, we'll just we'll just we'll just put that in there. >> Unless I I failed to click on my character. I I rolled 14. >> Okay. >> I'm going to BRB. I'm gonna get some water. And >> and I don't know if you if you know the um the barbarian with the player core 2 01:56:13 they remastered and uh now barbarians have this quick tempered thing where at initiative you rage so you don't have to use an action. >> Oh nice. Okay. >> Yeah. You can just >> slightest provocation. >> Slightest provocation. That's classic Rugilda. why she wouldn't let go of her sword. >> That's why I'm like ready. Like you just know you don't know what's going to hop out at you at any time. You got a >> Well, go ahead. >> Iggy had a Iggy had a 12. 01:56:48 >> Oh, okay. >> Um got an eight. >> Gotcha. Okay. So, Iggy's got a 12. Did you want to have her go on a separate init? >> Maybe I just shouldn't bother with that. >> It's up to you. >> Moving forward. Okay. Yeah. Keep her on mine. >> I don't see tens in on that. Is he on that? I'll just do it >> on. >> Oh. Oh, gotcha. >> 23. >> Yeah. Now, see, it's not showing on mine, but that's okay. As long as you >> uh I do not see tens. 01:57:17 >> It's right under zezies. It's It showed up on mine. It's a 23 >> in the turn order on the lefth hand side of the screen. >> I don't see it in the turn order. >> Yeah, that's right. Right. >> It's on the right. >> What' you get a 23? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Hold on. Let's get you in there. >> No, that's what I was talking about. Jim is on the on in the turn order. >> I was gonna say I'm looking at it. 01:57:39 >> Okay. Uh you lift up Tensson, you lift up the uh uh the um the bare skin and outpour a bunch of rats and they seem trying to sw they're swirling around and they're trying to swarm you. Uh you however you are first. So what do you do as you stagger backward? Oh, rats >> bite their heads off and drink their blood. Do it. Do it. >> Unfiltered. >> Just like mom used to make. >> Can I If I still have a hold of the rug, can I pull it back over them to cover them? 01:58:16 >> You want to pull it back over and sort of like smash it down on top of them? >> Yeah, just to to keep them from spreading out. >> What is your strength? >> Uh, what is my strength? Uh, 18. >> 18. I would say go ahead and roll a d20 with your strength bonus uh to try and yank that rug over them and slam it down over the top of them. >> Just hit the strength modifier. >> Uh yeah, see what that does. >> I don't know which one to >> Is it the blue one? 01:58:43 >> Yeah, it's the blue one. >> I don't know. >> Yeah, the blue gives you a finger point. >> Okay. I didn't see anything happen. Oh, okay. There it is. >> There it is. Yeah, it was 15. All right. So, so you rear back on on thing and the rest of you hear this kind of like uh kabump as the table upon which there does seem to be some sort of back gamon uh equipment of some sort. Uh which is odd, but okay. Um kind of gets shook uh and uh the as the bare skin is sort of dragged out from 01:59:14 under it. So, it's shaking and making some noise. You do get the bare skin out and slammed down, but the rats at this point are powering out from under there. Um, you you haven't captured them. >> I'm just trying to cover a bunch of them up so I can just start jumping on them so you can corral. >> Okay. Sounds >> basically. >> All right. You still have uh So, that's your first action. You still have two more actions. So, welcome everyone to the Pathfinder 01:59:39 second edition threeaction economy. >> So, you get you get lots of you have lots of opportunity. So, that was just a one action thing. You just yanked. It was almost a reaction. Just yanked it. Tried to slam it down. >> Yeah. Uh then I will do uh actually I'm going to go into my stance my sex in action. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Uh that's my mountain stance which will bring my armor class up to 19. >> Okay. >> And then I will attack with my uh uh melee 02:00:14 >> my uh flurry of blows. >> All right. to your flurry of blowing that that >> just pretend I didn't say that. We'll take that out of the We'll take that the edit edit, you know, out of the video just so I don't want to cut that. Uh, so you're doing furious blows on the rats. You're just punching, you know, punching the crap out of the rats. Okay. >> Can you click that? >> Yeah. >> On your character sheet. Ah, here we go. Okay. Attack 17. Uh, you begin pummeling 02:00:43 these uh these creatures. Uh, and you can hear them. the rest of you hear him squeaking and and uh making uh uh I don't know uh outraged rat noises >> and then a second attack. >> Um you know that kind of stuff. But you do hit them. Uh you don't get a second attack. >> Yeah, I do. >> Got your three actions. So your first action was to pull the thing. >> Flurry of blows is two attacks as a single action. >> Ah okay. Well then all right carry on. However, attack number two will miss. 02:01:10 >> Will miss. Okay. uh as you hit the ground hard, you smash your hand in there. But the first one attack and it does do damage. Uh and you do look like you have maybe squashed a couple of uh uh of rats underneath there. >> Did that uh Can you guys even see? I guess you can't. Hold on. >> Yeah, I can't see the >> I see the rats >> lines, right? >> So, let's try this. >> That's a health bar. >> How about now? >> Now, we can see it. 02:01:38 >> There it is. Okay. So, you did do some damage to it. The rats are squeaking. They're obviously angry. They're biting. They're hissing. Uh, do rats hiss? Probably. Uh, they are angry. Gilda, you're up. >> Okay, I am going to move over to flank with tens in. >> Okay. >> 20 because the diagonals are funky, right? >> Uh, they are, but that's okay. You can get over there. >> Five, 10, 20. So, easy peasy lemon squeezy. >> All right. >> I am gonna take a whack. at those rats. 02:02:12 >> At those dirty rats. >> Well, I'm not gonna say that they're dirty and they're not dirty. That seems >> you dirty rats. >> All right, your sword comes down. Uh, and you can see that you've cleaved at least two rats uh as it comes down, but there's just a whole bunch of them. It's a swarm, so you're not sure that uh you're you're killing them fast enough. Uh, but you do hit. >> All right, good. Well, and then I'm going to use a second. My third action 02:02:40 is going to be to hit them a second time. So, >> okay. >> Oh, it doesn't look >> Oh, and a six is a miss. So, you miss them that time as they scatter around. >> Auda, there is some sort of rat fight going on. >> I see. Okay. Well, you know, um I happen to have um it's not a rat slicer, it's a dog sicer. >> So, >> dog sicer. >> It'll work on a rat. >> Yeah. If you I believe it will work on a rat. I'm willing to try it out. So I take my 02:03:12 my dog slicer and I'm gonna attack a rat with it. Now I think I get get just one attack I think. >> Okay. >> I'm a I I'm not a fighter. This is this is not my usual thing. >> Well, so here's the thing about the three actions. You can do you can attack on all three actions. What happens is though, your base attack bonus goes down by five for each subsequent attack. >> If you're using the same thing that I'm using, you'll have your primary weapon 02:03:42 and then a number two and a number three. And that's how you attack. >> If I saw a swarm of rats, I'd probably have a number two. >> If it's an I think it doesn't go down quite as much, though. >> Depends on uh it depends on your class. Usually, it's five. >> Okay. Uh, >> so like you when you rolled your first attack was a 15 plus seven. Yeah. >> And then your second attack was a four plus seven minus five. So a four plus two, >> but I'm not I'm not allowed to use agile 02:04:13 weapons. I mean, I could use an agile weapon, but I don't get the range benefit. And actually less. Mine should be four and eight instead of five and 10. Yeah. Because my hands are agile weapons. >> Right. Right. >> Ah, okay. So, it didn't >> it when I checked it, it it showed as a five instead of a four. >> When you look when you look when you click I think there's like a little gear. >> Uh you click on the little gear next to your your hands that I think there's 02:04:46 like a a button or something. Yes. There's a box you can click that says agile. >> All right. If you're using an agile weapon, uh the multiple attack penalty you take this weapon on the second turn is minus4 instead of minus5 and minus 8 instead of minus 10 on the third and subsequent attacks. >> I don't see at is it traits? >> No. So this is if you're on where you click to. >> Yeah, I I opened it up and I've got the list, but I don't see >> is it under traits? 02:05:17 >> No. No, it's right under where you see the number. So, like mine is >> Oh, okay. I see it. Just click that on. Got it. >> Okay. >> Give us a quick roll. See if it's working. >> Uh, I'd have to roll. Hang on a second. Let me get out of it here. >> I'll roll my second one to see if it works, right? >> Not that that matters. >> So, wasted that 20. >> All right. So, >> I don't see where you see that agile weapon button. What's is that under your 02:05:47 weapon? >> Directly under >> totally on a weapon that has agile. >> Oh, that that'll do it. Okay. >> All right. All right. Sorry, Akurawa, you are uh you are still up. >> Yes, sir. Um I I mean I don't think I can sneak behind a bunch of rats rats and backstab them. >> Unlikely. >> Wait, isn't your sneak attack if you have an ally who's also adjacent to the critters? Uh, I think as a swarm they are immune to precision damage, which >> makes sense. 02:06:20 >> So, >> oh no, they're not. Uh, they're not. Oh, yeah, they are. They're immune to precision damage. So, you can't sneak attack a rat swarm. >> I mean, uh um so I I think it's my thief skills are not particularly useful against a swarm of rats. >> Attack. I mean, so the best I can do is try to whack a few rats with my dog slicer. >> So, it's I think it's what I should do. So, I'm going to just I'm going to just keep it simple. I'm going to attack with 02:06:53 the rats with a dog slicer. Here we go. I roll a one. No, wait. >> Uh, no. You rolled an 18. 18 is a hit. >> Nice. >> And in this case, you're doing bludgeoning damage. So, you did five points of bludgeoning damage, which is good, but not quite good enough. >> Why would a dog slasher do bludgeoning? >> I don't know. >> How weird. >> It's an agile weapon. >> Is it? >> Yeah. >> Basically, it's a long like curve dagger. >> It could be. Well, it could be that it's 02:07:25 dull. That's might be why it does bludgeoning damage. >> Maybe straight. >> Uh, it's in the sword. Good. Uh, agile, backstabber, finesse. >> No, it does slashing. >> Short curved >> slashing one dice six slashing. >> Why does it say uh budgeoning there? All right. Well, slashing even. So, uh it's still not quite enough to kill uh to scare off the remaining uh things. So, you want to take a another shot? >> Sure. Now, I have for my second attack, do I click number 02:07:57 two here? >> Yes. >> Yes, you do. >> Here we go. Number two. >> 17. Still quite good. And still a hit. Now this additional bludgeoning damage is uh going to be enough. At the second uh at Akudagawa's second hit, he cleaves another another uh rat too. And the other rats are now beginning to think that this is may have been a foolish thing to do to attack all these people and begin scattering away heading towards the walls running away. One runs right past you, Iggy, and out the door. 02:08:25 Uh you know, they uh they scatter up and they uh and they go uh they're uh >> they're going for the other orc. He's in the room by himself. >> Yeah, >> he's in the room by himself. They disappear. They scatter. >> That's called Door Dash. [Laughter] >> Then Darius, you would actually see a rat or two come scutling out that door. >> What were you saying, Eric? >> Um, silly question. Uh, when I attack with my dog slicer, it says attack 18, 02:08:54 damage five, critical damage 18. Bunch >> if you had a critical. Yeah, >> if I had a critical. >> Yeah, it automatically Yeah, if you had done a crit and it will tell you. You see how like uh Tenzins's up above where attack number two, it's in green cuz he rolled a natural 20. So then what you would do is you would add your regular damage and your critical damage together. That would be the that would be the the damage. >> And but did I do additional damage with a snake attack? 02:09:20 >> You did not. >> Okay. >> They're they're immune. The rats form is immune to precision. Of course. Okay. It just gives you every all of your damage all at once. >> Okay, so the rats have dispersed. >> Scadattled. >> Great. Okay. Oh, take take that you rats. Okay. You know, >> rat. >> I'm just wondering. Oh, go ahead. >> It's just that um so far it's been a great success. I mean, we have picked locks. We have uh >> less. Was that enough to level us up? 02:09:53 >> Not quite. You know, I I'm I'm wondering if the pelts on the floor are worth taking to sell later. >> I I I think so. Also, look to see where the rats came from. They might have something in their >> in their den. Okay. >> Flip them up the rest of the way. And >> all right, you pick a peek under there. You do see that there's like a little uh how does it maybe like a little depression in the wood. Uh and it looks like the rats have have formed like a 02:10:21 little nest there. >> Yeah. Uh, so there's like it's just like a little dip in the wood. It's not even really that much, but they've sort of nested underneath there. There's one of the the one that they were directly under, which is the bear one, uh, has a fair amount of damage underneath. They've been gnawing on it. They've been using it for to line their nest, peeing on it. Yeah, it's gross. The other one, the deer skin, is in quite good condition. A little dusty, a little 02:10:43 musty. >> Uh, but uh, otherwise quite uh quite serviceable. >> We'll we'll pull it out and roll it up. >> Okay. and set it off to the side for later. >> Gotcha. >> I'd like mount off the off the fireplace there and see if there's something squirreled in there. >> Okay. Uh you reach up there, pull that off there. It takes a little bit of uh waggling. It's quite heavy. Um but as you pull it off, you get down there and all you see behind it is just a couple 02:11:11 of hooks. >> Okay. >> Where it was hooked onto the onto the you know that these hooks were like sort of plunged into the stone above the for the chimney. >> Gotcha. I am not going to replace it. >> Gotcha. Just throw it on the ground. >> Well, I'll set it on the ground. I don't throw it. >> Okay. >> Um, >> and I also want to toss that um the wolf behind me. See if it's >> You going to cut it open kind of thing or just >> got a hollowed out? 02:11:37 >> You going to reach in the back or >> area? No, I won't I won't go through. >> I'm not going through the nature's pocket. >> Gotcha. Okay. Yeah. No, I mean you kind of shake it around and uh you lift it up before I I'm assuming you don't like cut it open immediately, but you lift it up and shake it around. It's actually This one, unlike the the head, these are actually quite light. You could easily just stumble over this and knock it over. Um, you know, you shake it, it 02:11:58 doesn't make any noise inside. You suspect it's just sawdust inside or whatever they use for taxiderermy material, but it's not heavy at all. >> Gotcha. I'm going to pose it uh uh on the deer mount. Looks like it's back in that. Okay, >> we should definitely search the desk, though. Did the desk get knocked over? >> It didn't get knocked over, although it got jostled quite a bit. It's not It's It's less of a desk the more the closer you get a closer look at it, and more of 02:12:24 sort of like a little table. Uh very, you know, well done, but there's no drawers or anything in it. Uh on top of the table is a back a game of back gammon. Uh it looked like it was in progress. Um, you know, the dice are out, the cup is laying down. Uh, you know, there are the little the little chits are sort of in the places. Um, but it doesn't look like it been being played for a long time. There's >> Hey, Velcro, look look underneath that round table and see if there's a 02:12:52 message. I've been to these escape rooms. I know how this works. >> The door's right there. It's open. >> No, he's talking about this table. >> Groot Hill, that thing that you're standing next to is a window. Uh, is the outside what you suspect to be the outside windows, which they are shuttered from the inside and locked. >> Oh, locked. Are there cracks? Can I peek through and see if it really is the outside? >> Uh, well, the locks are on the inside, 02:13:20 so you can just undo them if you want to like open it up a pinch. >> Oh, that would mean putting away my sword. I >> You try and kick it open. Uh, you secret leaping up into the air like a ninja. That's going to suck. >> Uh, >> all right. I'll put away my sword and I will >> unlock the the shutter. >> I can do things if you need to to help out. >> So, yeah, as you peer out, you do see that it does the it is, you know, sort of like kind of look and you do see that 02:13:55 it does look out onto the front yard where you guys just were a little while ago. >> Okay, I'll close it back up and lock it again. >> Okay. and pull out my >> Does the back gam game look like it's made? Well, >> yeah, it looks a high quality and all the pieces are there. >> Uh, I'm gonna gather it up. Does it go into a little box or something? >> You don't see any kind of box around. It looked like it may have just been set here. >> You said the bear you said the bear 02:14:21 skins kind of >> chewed up. >> The bear skin kind of chewed up from the rats, but the deer skin is in uh uh tens of folded up. I'm going to lop off a foot of the dare bear skin. And >> check check where the cards were in this cabinet here. >> And there may be a case in there. >> The cards were in there. There was drinks in there, but I >> gamon case may be in there. Did you? >> Yeah, it might be inside there. there. Uh, so there's a box that looks like it 02:14:51 was uh designed to hold the decks of cards and that's where tends to that's where you found the cards were in this like little box, but you don't see any sort of case that looks like it's made for a back. >> I'm just going to, like I say, lap off, you know, part of that >> a portion of the bare skin >> and put it in there and make a pouch. >> Gotcha. Okay. And uh, uh, Gruhill said she had a sack. >> Yeah, I got five sacks. I brought five sacks. It's always good to have a sack. 02:15:12 You never know when you're going to need one. >> True. >> Yeah, that's always good. I'll give you one and I'll take >> I I I I got sacks too, but I just figured uh uh you know that that kind of separates it out. >> Okay. No, that's good then. That's very wise. >> Are you guys Is somebody keeping track of these treasures? >> Oh, >> I wrote down the cards. >> Yeah, that game and sense worth some money. Jim, go ahead and write that 02:15:38 down. We can sell that off. Maybe back damage set to your skin. Okay. Can I push this little chest of drawers or armwire or uh what whatever chest of bureau whatever it is to the side to see if indeed it is covering up our people. >> You want to move it? Yeah, you could push it. Yeah, it's just a freestanding sort of armwire type thing. Uh so yeah, if you push it across uh uh across the ground and move it down to the south. Yeah, after you get to certain ways, you can see that there is a hole. Give me a 02:16:24 quick perception check in the wall. climbing. >> Yeah. Yeah. Reception check. >> Reception 14. As you're pushing it, you sort of angle the the armwire outward a little bit so you can sort of get behind there. As you do, you notice that there is also a hole in the back of the armwire. >> So then let's open up that armoire again and see if we can identify the hole. >> So you open up the armwire. Yeah, it looks like the hole on the wall and the hole in the armwire would have been 02:16:59 lined up. >> So that somebody on the other side looking through the hole in the wall, if the armwire was open, uh, you would have been able to see into the room. >> Interesting. Okay. >> Hey, and then somebody covered that up with that big portrait. >> Well, it's You said it. It's fairly low. It might have been the kid. Yeah, it's only the hole itself is only about four feet off the ground. >> Yeah, it might have been the kid that he'd hide in the cabinet and stare at 02:17:28 people when they came in or something. >> Now, there's no hole in the front doors of the cabinet. It's in the back wall of the cabinet. >> Yeah, but I mean, he would get inside the cabinet and hide in the cabinet and look into the room. >> Look in into the into the entryway. Yeah, you >> look into the entryway. >> You'd have to be pretty small kid. Uh, but yeah, theoretically, sure. >> He was a what, a little kid with a teddy bear. He looked >> either that or a goblin. 02:17:58 >> Goblin could get in there. Test. Get in there. >> Um, if we need to get into a small space, I can help. >> Is looking for the other side of the hole over here. Less in the entrance way, >> right? Yeah, she finds it. Is it bigger on this side or smaller on this side? >> Uh, it's about the same size, but it has the same kind of handcarved quality. >> Uh, it doesn't look like it was drilled with a tool or anything like that. It looks like it was carved, somebody 02:18:30 carved the wall, the wood of the wall, carved through, and then uh, you know, carved uh, the other, you know, the back of the of the armwire. In fact, you can see tool marks on the inside of the armoire. It's quite low placed so it wouldn't be obvious to somebody in that was you know doing stuff in the armoire. It wouldn't be very obvious. >> Does she see anything similar on this wall by the other armwire? >> Uh you open up that on the one with the that had the crossbows. 02:18:56 >> No, she's on the other side looking for the hole. >> No, it was the one over here. >> Oh, yeah. No, he's he's saying Feline is looking to see if there's a hole opposite this arm. >> Correct. >> Oh, correct. Yeah. No, you do not see any hole there. >> Okay, thank you. >> Nor nor any hole inside that inside that weapons armor. [Music] >> Well, there are three other doors. >> Yeah. Do we want to floor first or do we want to chase the light in the attic or 02:19:31 in the fourth floor? >> Well, I I hate to leave anything behind me that could >> Yeah. >> intercept our escape. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We got to go. Oh, by the way, Brook Hill just pulled her sword out again. >> If you stay ready, you don't got to get ready. >> That's right. >> Um, >> what I do with my shield >> over here, too. >> Khilda, you want me to open that door for you? >> In that thing? Yeah, that's where the wine and the glass. 02:19:58 >> This door. This door was already open. >> It was already open. >> No, I'm talking about this door. >> Oh, that one. >> Which door? >> That one looks like it's >> the one I got I just got my hand on right there. Oh, it says it's locked. It is locked. >> Yeah. Well, why don't we go in the open door? >> Okay. >> All right. Well, >> okay. >> All right. >> It's a dining room. >> Mhm. You go in there. 02:20:22 >> Is it a silver set? >> So, uh centerpiece of this room, uh is a wood panel dining room. Uh there's a big carved mahogany table which uh uh has eight highbacked chairs with sculpted wood armrests and cushions on the seats. There's a big chandelier uh hanging above the table uh and and the table itself has um has dinner wear and uh looks like um you know crystal goblets and things like that and they're polished. There's another fireplace here. And mounted above the fireplace uh 02:20:58 is a painting of what looks to be some sort of mountain p uh mountain uh valley uh with the sun shining through it and green grass in the valley. >> Um >> shining through. >> How did this place not get get ransacked? >> I don't know. There looks to be the uh on the northern end it looks like there's a big sort of uh uh set of red silk drapes. Uh and uh you know there is on the back in the back wall there is a tapestry showing hunting dogs and what looks to be like aristocrats chasing 02:21:34 after a wolf um on the tapestry over here. >> Okay, >> let's take a >> Hilda. I think you need to take some of that curtains and and make a cloak. Oh, well, I was thinking about taking a peek behind the tapestry to see. >> Yeah, go for it. >> Okay. >> The weird part about this is that all of the material on the table, although although the table itself has a fair amount of dust on it, as do the chairs and pretty much everything else in the room, the table wear, the plates and 02:22:04 everything are not dusty. In fact, the the the the crystal goblets seem to be polished. Uh the silverware is not silverware. Uh, it looks to be made of steel or some other silvery metal. Uh, but uh, it doesn't you you're pretty sure it's not silver. >> Peter. >> It could be Peter. >> Do we see any footprints in the dust on the ground or any disturbance of the dust on the ground? Because it seems like somebody's been in here to take care of the of the uh of the china of 02:22:36 the plates. >> Uh, take give me a survival check. Look for look for look for uh um look for tracks. Uh >> my second survival surv doesn't look like there's any tracks in the dust in here. Much like in the other room that you checked earlier. So uh there doesn't seem to be any tracks. Um Auda, if you're going to look at the centerpiece on the table and around the fireplace for traps, give me a quick perception check. Uh, Xanderas, you you look down on the ground uh and 02:23:07 you at first you don't see any footprints or anything obvious. And then it's subtle, but you can tell that the dust coating on the floor is not uniform. It does look like it's pretty dusty in here, but it does look like somebody maybe a couple of somebody's have moved through here. >> Well, I definitely see five sets of footprints in front of me. Uh, Akuragawa, you do not see any traps or or anything like that either on the table or in the fireplace. >> All right, boss. Okay, 02:23:39 >> Iggy, I'm going to ask you to indulge us and show us a trick. Pull that tablecloth out without removing any of the salt. >> You're not that kind of pressed digitator. Mhm. >> So, Grilda would like to to like use her sword to to to move the tapestry, you know, away the tapestry aside. >> Yeah. To see what's on the wall behind it. >> Okay. The tapestry moves aside and as you move it, a lot of dust comes off it and that kind of stuff. Uh, it's quite 02:24:13 well made. I mean, I don't know if you have lower tapestry, but um, it looks like a fairly expensive tapestry. It's thick uh and uh it looks the art the artisticness the artism uh the artisticness uh is quite good. Whoever made this is quite good at tapestry making. But uh if you look back it you only see a couple of iron hooks embedded into the wall that are what holding up the that hold up the tapestry itself. You don't see anything else behind there. >> Okay. Well, then I'm going to turn 02:24:42 around and I'm going to do the same thing to these red silk curtains. >> Okay. I can't push them to the side with uh with my sword. >> Okay. As you push them to the side, you see that the curtains cover up a bunch of windows. Uh now the windows are made of glass, so you can see out of them, although they are closed and latched. >> No, no shutters though. >> No. Uh there are shutters on the outside, but they are open. They No, they're not. They are closed. The shutters are closed. 02:25:16 Well, this is a very lovely room. >> This would have been a a splendid dining room. The only odd thing about it is the the the fact that the the the dinner wear has been taken care of whereas everything else has not. >> I was going to say Iggy or Velcro, do you have a a can trip of Detect magic? >> I do. >> Y >> because that is very odd. >> Can I tell what meal was eaten here? Should Should I do it now? >> There is no food in the plates or or or drink in the glasses. 02:25:49 >> I mean, because it's like perpetually clean >> there. Uh so, uh John, did you say you were going to do that? >> Yeah, I got to freaking copy and paste the goddamn thing. No offense. [Laughter] So you know from based on the the utensils and the number of glasses, do we have a sense for the sort of class of people that would have been here for this meal? Like you know how how uh some pe like there's multiple forks and spoons like for all of the various um >> dishes courses, 02:26:31 >> right? the different dishes and courses that you would eat. Does this seem like uh like can we get a a sense of like who would have been entertained like the the social register as it were? >> Yeah, it's I mean everything about this room gives indicates and and especially like the the main hall and the den and stuff like this. This is the this is the dining room of an upper crust family, an aristocratic family. Now, um well, maybe not aristocratic, but certainly wellto-do. Uh and the fact that they 02:27:04 have a code of arms would seem to indicate, you know, at least some sort of uh noble blood, however, however minor. Um it's this is not a um I would say this is not a castle. Uh but it's certainly would be considered for these for this town a mansion. M. Uhhuh. >> And you know all this material here uh does uh uh seem to be the the the accutrants that you might acrewue to a wealthy perhaps uh per you know somewhat aristocratic family. >> Okay. I see. >> All right. Uh John uh the um the tech 02:27:45 magic the uh the you do find that the table wear the glasses and the cups and the silverware but nothing else does radiate some minor magic. And as you sort of ponder this magic you you think that this minor magic that is in sourced this this uh this serving wear uh is designed to keep it clean. H. >> Oh. >> So like what's the spell that you could knock the dust off of stuff and things of that nature? >> Digit. No. >> Digit precigitation. >> Yeah. >> So it's related to to that kind. It's 02:28:20 it's a it's a kind of it's like it's like prestigitation magic but it's in sourced into the into this into the play settings. So that no matter how dirty they get um one might they self clean or they have a command word that they use that might that might work and clean the wow. >> Worth the money. That's interesting. >> Are there any coats of arms or anything identifiable on this china? >> Nothing on the china or the glassware. >> Okay. >> Now, less I look at the flatear and I 02:28:54 recognize the knife, but what are those other implements? >> Uh, well, one is called a fork. Uh, and it's used it's used for uh it's used by civilized uh people to spear and uh uh and bring uh portions of food up to their mouths. The other thing is a spoon. It's like a little shovel kind of and it would works in similar in a similar fashion. >> Yeah, you're you're just making up stuff now. I know that's how you say an orc cookie talk. Um all right, but uh but 02:29:25 yeah. Yeah. So the the the magic that is emanating from it's minor magic. It's not powerful, but it does it does either at either at the at the speaking of a command word or automatically will clean the dishes in the glassware and keep them and keep them uh you know, shiny. >> Yeah, that's pretty that's pretty neat. >> You know, wants to do that. >> Something to get on the way out. I'm going to go back into the main room then. >> Okay. >> Nothing behind the curtains, just just 02:29:52 windows. >> Just windows behind the curtains. And then behind the tapestry is just the the mounting um the mounting uh pieces. >> Do I hear anything at this door? >> Uh you uh give me a perception check. >> You hear some heavy breathing? >> Go over and knock on the door. >> You do hear the sound of what sound like booted orc feet just on the other side of that door. >> Okay, I'm going to give it a kick. >> Give it a kick. >> Yes. Ah, it kicks open and there they are. 02:30:27 Oh, they're orcs here. Oh, it's just >> um Hey, Auda, can we get you to pick this lock here in the front? >> I am glad to do that. That's why you brought me along. Uh, where am I? Over here. Here. I sure can do. Okay. Uh, and to pick that thing, I use a thievery. >> You do indeed. >> Here we go. Uh, 26. Dang, this guy's picking some locks tonight. He picks this lock quite easily. Now, this is a lock that's inset in the door. It's not a pad lock. >> Uh, but you do manage to unlock it and, 02:31:01 uh, I'm assuming throw the door open. >> Sure. >> With a flourish. >> Yeah. >> All right. You look inside there, uh, and you see something interesting. Yeah. Uh, so in this case, there is, it looks like a cloak room of sorts. You can see that there are several black cloaks hanging from uh pegs on the wall and a and a large black hat uh sitting on the shelf. >> I apologize. I I I accidentally moved Failina. I I didn't mean to. >> It's all right. >> Okay. I guess 02:31:36 >> is that a bowl bowler >> up on the top? >> Yeah, it's a hat. It's a black felt hat. Uh somewhat reminiscent to a top hat. Cool. >> A cooa looked pretty good in that. >> I'm going to search the room. Any hidden doors? Anything hidden in there? >> I don't know. Maybe Iggy could use it and he could pull a rabbit. >> Uh, okay. Auda will give me perception check. >> Uh, sir, >> uh, you do not see any hidden panels. You knock on some of the wood walls and 02:32:09 that kind of stuff and you don't find anything of it. just a just a half dozen black cloaks and that one uh sort of top hat-like hat sitting on the shelf. >> That's fine. Um I'm not going to wait it do the cloaks look used recently or are they the >> not recently? They're covered in dust. Uh and uh but they they seem to be in decent quality. >> Do they have the windmill marking on them? >> They do not. >> Dozen. A half dozen is a very odd number. >> Yeah. Are they sort of sized for like we 02:32:42 expect the the the family? Like you >> They all seem to be adult-sized. >> Oh, that's very odd, isn't it? >> There doesn't look to be any any child-sized cloaks. >> And they they don't differ. They're all black. >> Uh they're all black. They do not uh Yeah, they do not vary. In fact, they seem to be of the same manufacturer, the same cloth. >> Are they hooded? Do they have hoods? >> They do have hoods. >> And are they quite uh voluminous? 02:33:09 uh reasonably voluminous. Yeah, >> they would they would encompass say a a sturdy dwarf or two sturdy uh orcs. >> Two dwarfs. >> Absolutely. I think yeah, they would they would they would fit you guys. I mean, uh they might be a little long for I mean, they're sized for they're probably human size, so Gilda, you'd have to probably cut the bottom off of it to use it as a cloak. Uh, I mean, I'm just thinking we're we're a bit of a spectacle as we go about. Good point. 02:33:40 >> Maybe a black cloak would be a helpful thing to >> Not bad idea. But >> you did see you did see several people wearing similar similar >> Yeah. dragging along the street. >> Um, you did see similar people wearing cloaks of a similar nature. Well, and then what we can do for a couta, uh, we we just cut a hole in the top of the hat and some arm holes >> probably. So, >> you know, >> it could work. And there's a half dozen of them. And is there a half dozen of 02:34:13 you? >> I believe there is a half dozen of you. >> Yeah. So, there would be one for each. >> I knew we were coming. >> Well, that's how many pegs there are, too. So, >> I already have a cloak. I'm fine. But but has somebody knocked that hat off? >> I say I think the hat would be uh somebody should be wearing that. >> Could be something hidden under the hat. >> It's a finely made felt beaverfelt hat. >> Well, we should definitely take the 02:34:44 sixth cloak. >> Yeah, I am. >> And because you never know, we might be encountering another member of our party. >> That's true. >> Oh, right. And I suppose u a group of six or seven people wearing matching black cloaks probably also not a spectacle that's going to cause >> Yeah. Looks a little bit eyes wide shut. Right. >> Yeah. A little. >> So >> or the people along the street like who's the dude with the hat? >> I was going to say let's pull the top 02:35:17 hat down. Said it was a beaver top hat. >> Make sure. >> Yeah, it's felt. It's a felt hat. It's It's made of beaver felt though. Beaver felt. >> And there's nothing underneath it. >> No. >> I feel better. >> We're going to say jeez. >> Sorry. Something's going on upstairs. >> I think the uh >> I think Failen would look pretty good in a top hat. [Music] >> Banish into a top explorer, right? Mhm. >> Uh no, the fact the only one that I 02:35:55 think you guys have uh uh uh not explored is this door right here. >> Yeah. Uh yeah, that's a >> I think everything else >> that one we'll go over and open that door. >> Okay, >> it is just open. So, uh you can you can click it and it opens right up. >> Yeah, it looks like a it looks like a kitchen. So, uh it's tidy. Uh there are dishwear, cookware, utensils placed on shelves very neatly. There's a workt that has a cutting board and a rolling pin on it. Uh there's a stone oven 02:36:28 that's kind of dome shaped um uh you know over in the uh you know over on the wall. Um you know uh there's with a stove pipe connecting to a hole in the ceiling. That's that sort of uh thing right here. Uh is like an oven. Uh and um >> another door, >> you know, there's there's there's actually, you know, the weird part is there is still food out. >> So, if you look at this table over here, there's like a work table and you can see that there are a couple of cuts of 02:36:57 meat, uh some vegetables. They don't look desiccated in any way. >> That's just sort of sitting there. You see rat droppings or any evidence that the rats from the other room could have. >> Uh quick perception check. >> It's not very quick. >> 18. Uh yeah, you do not see any rat droppings or anything like here. It looks completely undisturbed. What's further is you see the food looks fresh and there's no dust on the tables. >> Yeah, they're into food additives here. 02:37:34 It's obvious. >> This is suspicious. >> There's a rolling pin on the cutting board. >> Les, I'm going to open that door right there. >> Okay. All right. As you look in there, you can see that there is it's looks like a pantry. Uh, and so there is a fair amount of food stored here as well. You can see a wheel of cheese, some vegetables, various kinds of things just sort of scattered about. It's a it's a it looks like a working pantry. Again, the food itself looks fresh 02:38:05 >> and there doesn't seem to be any dust in this room. >> Certainly not this the level of dust that you've seen elsewhere in the house. >> Mhm. >> Is there any indication that like recent people someone might have been here cooking or uh eating? You don't see any evidence of having any any of this material having eaten. There's no bites out of anything. There's no like, you know, half eaten sandwich or anything like that. It's just the food itself is just sitting 02:38:39 out. There doesn't look like anybody has been preparing anything. It's just the food is just sitting out. >> Uh give uh uh Dan Failen, give me a a quick perception check for uh uh Failen. >> Okie do. >> I think I said Failen. Sorry about that. >> Yeah, you did. >> 21. Okay. That thing she's looking at is a dumb waiter. >> A small one, but a dumb waiter nonetheless. >> But she could get in it. >> Well, definitely. Uh >> a small character could theoretically 02:39:19 squeeze in there. Mhm. >> Um there is a uh there is a obvious rope and pulley system that would it looks like it sends it up. This looks like >> that'll be way too noisy. She's not interested. She could fly anyway. >> Okay. >> But yeah, this is obviously, you know, obviously a kitchen in a pantry. But the weird the weird part about this is the food does not look >> the the food does not look like it's been here for 15 years. >> Okay. >> It looks like it's been here for a day. 02:39:49 Unless it's somehow insourcled too like the dinner wear and it's keeping it >> fresh. >> Cast detect magic on it. It does not radiate magic. >> That's weird. >> That's >> Is it recognizable food? >> Oh yeah, absolutely. Cheese, meat, various kinds of vegetables. Everything looks reasonably fresh. >> Uh Akudagawa, you take a quick peek around uh the kitchen looking for secret doors. You do not find any secret doors. Les, I'm gonna take a small portion of 02:40:19 that food. So when we leave here, >> I'm gonna see if it decays suddenly. >> Okay. >> Well, pouch or something. >> Yeah. >> The only other place to go is up then, I guess. >> Yeah. >> Got her sword out and she >> climbing up the stairs. >> Okay. >> Oh, unlessawa wants to go first. >> I'll be by your side. >> Okay. side by side. >> Warn me if you see anything suspicious. I'll hit it. >> Okay. Well, just don't chop off my head. 02:40:55 >> All right, Gilda. As you >> same height, ar. >> Yes. >> All right, Gilda. You mount the stairs going up and you very quickly find yourself on what could only be the second floor. And I'm going to put you up there now. >> Second floor. We clear the first floor. That was easy. >> That means So if we're going to floor two, that means we don't don't we level up to two if we go to floor two. >> Yeah, those rats, you' be you would be stunned at how many experience points 02:41:26 those are worth. I mean, just incredible amount. >> Uh I don't know, maybe a maybe a flaw in this game system or something like All right, but yeah, you you uh Grildilda, you immediately find yourself in a room uh at the top of the stairs. Um >> and do the stairs look like they keep going up? Like >> they do. Yeah, there's another one going up. So, it probably goes >> Is there like a center? Can you see down? Like, can you see or is it enclosed in the center? >> It's enclosed. 02:41:52 >> Okay. >> So, I'm just going to put everybody on those on those steps. >> I'm going to the bathroom over the rail. >> I think the rail. All right. Great. >> Okay. I'm going to go ahead and put you guys there. Uh Xandeloo. Zanderius. Whoops. >> Yeah, you got it. >> Okay. Uh you come up and you find yourself in what looks to be a pretty substantive hall. Um there are unlit oil lamps that are mounted on the walls. It's fairly elegant. Again, this room exhibits the 02:42:25 same sort of elegance and and wealth uh that you've seen elsewhere. Uh there's another fireplace at the end of it. And above that mantel place uh you can see there is another um there is another portrait different from the first one but again of that same family. This one does not have a name plate but it's of similar uh it's it's of similar style and again you see the mother and the father uh you see the two young children which are about the same age in the as as in the um as in the 02:42:55 painting downstairs. In this case though, there's a very this is a bit of a strange thing in that the mother who uh you if you remember from this one is this Elizabeth Durst is sort of looking at the the unseen the father like in the portrait downstairs is holding what looks to be a baby and swaddling in some is swaddle a baby. But now you realize that as you look at that, you have never gotten a look at the baby's face. And the mother is sort of looking at the baby >> and has a weird look on her face too in 02:43:28 this portrait. Um, it's certainly not a look of like, oh, my darling baby. Um, >> it looks like you just face boy. >> It looks almost like a look of disgust. Oh, >> Iggy, am I allowed to May I address? Is she Is she happy to be addressed or should I only talk to her through you? >> You can try talking to her. She doesn't actually speak any languages, but she may understand you. Oh, I'm, you know, I have the thought because that portrait downstairs only mentioned two children 02:44:08 and and she she mentioned the bodies of two small two small skeletons in the attic. And I'm wondering one she described the the the the doll holding a doll and I'm wondering if the other one was a bit larger or a bit smaller. >> Good question. >> I think he did describe one was larger than the other. >> Yes. But which one was larger? The one holding the teddy bear or the one without? >> The one without. >> So that's >> Yeah. So that makes me wonder because they 02:44:47 only list the two children and yet there's this baby and then the mother is looking has a such a strange expression. >> He does. It's a very strange expression. It's not love. It's something else. >> Well, yeah. Mr. Durst just passed gas. >> Maybe it could be. I mean, it would be a similar kind of thing. >> They have to sit for those portraits for a long time. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That looks like suits of armor. Is that >> there are Yeah, there are standing suits 02:45:11 of armor uh which are on either side of like two sets of double doors to the north and to the south. Um each of the suit has a spear uh and a a visored helmet that that kind of looks like a has been crafted to look like a wolf's face. Kind of like a wolf. >> Interesting. Um, it's not highly detailed, you know, it's a it's a metal, you know, metal thing that that definitely gives you. >> Yeah. And the doors themselves also have carvings on them. They look like um people dancing uh in various kinds uh um 02:45:48 you know, that's I don't know. It's very stylized, but that's what it looks like. >> I think we're going to have to go get a moving truck, guys. >> Well, I mean, it's a very fine house. If nobody's living here, maybe we do want to know about the squatting laws. Um >> Oh, yeah. Well, >> what's the And do we >> This is serviceable armor. That's That's some That's some money there. >> Does it look Yeah. Is it It just decorative armor, you know, just 02:46:12 >> No, it looks serviceable. It looks uh It looks pretty well made. I mean, I wouldn't call it masterwork or anything, but the each suit is identical. So, um um Yeah. I mean, you could theoretically you could use it. I don't know. You would have to It's suited It's more suited for a human male. >> Well, yeah. I was going to say It' be a tight squeeze, but >> it's usable. >> I'm not interested in armor. >> A good uh a good uh blacksmith could 02:46:34 probably knock it into into customizing it for and knock it into size. >> No code of arm or anything on the armor to indicate that it is the fam comes from the Durst family. >> So, their code of armor was that that that sort of stylized windmill that you saw on the thing. These don't have any sort of uh uh heraldri symbols or anything on that. the wolf face. >> That's weird. >> Grab the spear and pull it out. >> Yeah, it might be. It might be that they would wear tabards of some sort or some 02:47:04 sort of clothing that it would cover the armor as opposed to engraving the armor in any way or anything like that. It's possible that that's common. >> Can you pull the spear out of the armor? >> No, the the spears the spears are loose. They're not attached to the armor itself, but they do look like they're attached to the to the the little wooden uh uh sort of base that the armor is standing on. >> So, you could probably wrench it free, but it is just a spear. Yeah. 02:47:34 >> Yeah. I I just trying to see if it was holding it up, if it's, you know. >> No, it doesn't look like it's holding it up. Uh I mean, you could it would take a minute. You could certainly move the spear out of the hand that's holding it. It's just sort of nestled in there, but it is looks like it is mounted to the wooden plate. You could probably wrench it out of there. Um, and it would be I mean, it's a it's a it's a good quality spear. I mean, it doesn't it looks it looks 02:47:58 very serviceable, but it is it is sort of mounted into the into the platform. >> Yeah, that's it's fine. >> Can you take the helmet off it? >> Mhm. Yeah, probably. You want to try that? >> Well, I I'll take it off for her. >> All right. So, you remove that. So the helmet comes off and you can see underneath is sort of like it's resting on a sort of wooden almost not a skeleton but like almost like a dummy. Uh and it makes sense. You've seen this 02:48:27 before when people mount uh uh uh suits of armor or have things that hold them up. Usually it's sort of this like mannequin looking thing that has arms and legs. In this case it's obvious that they've been posed. Uh so the the internal wooden sort of structure holds it up and you you could just pull the helmet off. The ball uh that holds it up uh is probably maybe you know 8 in across. It's wooden and it's attached to a to a spindle that goes down into the rest of the armor. 02:48:56 >> Do I hear anything at this door? >> Uh give me a listen. full plate armor is worth 30 gold pieces. >> Uh 19. Yeah. You listen, put your ear against the door, and you don't hear anything. But with your 19 perception, you get a good as you, as you lean down to listen, you get a good look at the carvings on the door. And what you thought were men and women dancing turns out to be wrong. As you get a closer look at the carvings, and it's very subtle, they're not dancing in these 02:49:35 carvings. It looks like there is a swarm of bats flying around them and they are trying to avoid them. >> They're running away. >> Oh, that. >> But you don't hear anything inside the other room. >> What a strange carving to have. Oh, take a look at this one as well and see. Is it a similar kind of carving? >> It is. As you look closer, you can see that again again it's different. The carving is very well done and you can see that it represents both uh men and 02:50:04 women are look initially like they're dancing uh and various kinds of things. But yeah, as you look closer, you can see that they too in this carving. It's different from the other door, but you can see that they too are are running or trying to avoid uh a big swarm of bats. >> Velcro, are you proficient with plate armor? >> I'm wearing clothes. >> Okay. >> Hey, me too. >> All right. I'm going to assume Iggy, you're not interested in wearing armor either. 02:50:34 >> Not at all. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Gilda will give this door a bit of a boost >> kick. >> All right. You can see that it's locked. >> Uh you hit it and you're like, "Oh, that that's that's a locked door. >> Where's our locksmith? >> Check under the hat. >> Under the hat, >> check under the hat. I can't. Sure. >> Can you open that door for us? >> I'll be glad to um do my fevery an eight. I I fumble. 02:51:06 >> In this case, the uh uh the um the lock defeats you. Uh it's of similar make than the locks that you've already done, but uh but you can't manage to get this one unlocked. Uh and that said, I have just been alerted that it is 11:00 midnight on the East Coast. So, uh, I had I lost track of time, so I apologize, but, um, >> great game. >> Uh, so, yeah. Do you want to stop here? >> I think so. >> Tomorrow's Columbus Day. >> All right. So, let's stop here. I have 02:51:35 to work. Uh, I don't know about you guys. Who's who's got to work tomorrow? >> I got to do >> just me. I'm it. >> Oh, you got to work, too, man. >> I'll be duty. >> I get holiday leave, but I don't get paid for it. >> Great. That's perfect. Um, yeah. The worst of both worlds. Uh, okay. So, well, we'll stop here. Uh, and the next time in two weeks when we start back up, we will try and see if there's some way we can defeat that lock perhaps on the 02:52:00 other door. Actually, before you go, uh, hit me another thievery skill real quick. >> Sure, I can do that one more time. >> I got one question, too, before everyone leaves. >> Sure. >> Whenever you're done. >> Go ahead. >> Oh, so how many of us are frontliners? Because I can't really tell from our activities so far. >> Oh, Brook Hilda is a barbarian. Okay. So, >> I'm playing a monk. >> Okay. >> I'm a thief. >> Who who we who we missing from? 02:52:31 >> I'm a war priest. >> Oh, boy. >> Okay. >> He's totally >> All right. So, we got three front liners. And then who's not here that is normally here? >> Tom. Uh Tom Row. Now, he sent me a uh he sent me a text today while >> he may be he was he's gonna join us in progress, I think. >> Okay. Did he say what kind of character he's going to play? >> Uh, he he sorcerer. Well, he said something like Travis the Randy. >> Uh, he did not give me an indication. 02:53:02 Yeah, Travis the Randy. I don't know what that character was. >> He sounds like a dandy. >> Uh, might be a bard or something. >> Travis and Dandy. >> Uh, don't Travis and Randy. Yeah, he didn't fill out any further than the name. So, uh, uh, I archived it. Um, so I'm not sure I'm not sure what we're doing. >> I'm assuming Iggy is not front line. >> Iggy is not. No. >> Yeah. >> And Failen is >> a flying glass. >> If we needed the front liner, I can 02:53:41 switch characters. I got them all built. I don't I don't I don't think we necessarily need one unless you want to. The problem is a closter cleric, you're not armor proficient yet. >> Yeah. >> No, no, no. >> We can put you in one of these and you can walk around unproficient and and learn >> you. >> How about this? I I'll wear the armor, but the barbarian has to pull me along until we get into combat. >> Well, I was going to say I bet you'd be 02:54:05 the same speed as the barbarian at that point as the goblin. take this piece of crap on your show. >> What' you say, Gwen? >> No, I was just gonna say because I also made a cloistered cleric because I didn't know how >> which way we were going, >> right? >> Well, yes, but also I was thinking backup, you know, like if something happens to the barbarian. >> It's kind of a cool It's kind of a cool class. It's almost like a divine wizard. >> You get like an unarmored 02:54:35 the AC is pretty good. And you know, >> I got 15 and I got a shield. So if I raise it, it's 17. >> Yeah. So that it's not awful. U Yeah. >> All right. >> All right. I'm going to stick with this one. >> Okay. Sounds good. Uh we will see y'all in two weeks. >> Thank you. >> All right. Unless you're doing tomorrow, I gota I got to see it's second and fourth Sundays or Yeah, second fourth Sundays, right? Uh >> I think so. Yeah. Second and fourth. 02:55:07 Okay, >> thanks everyone. Good night. >> Good night guys. >> Good night buddy. >> And then Les, what are you doing tomorrow? Because I got to see you. So, it's four days in a row. >> I've got to work. So, yeah, if you want to if you want to just pop by uh we can happen and you know that I've just done something. Thanks, man. >> All right. Hey, thank you. See you soon. Bye. >> Bye.
