Command Con 2023! Les Hostetler | November 19, 2023 | Conventions | No Comments Great day of games at Miniature Market! First game: Pike & Shotte with Harry. John and I were playing the Swiss against the Tudor English. I commanded the Swiss right flank: Three squadrons of pikemen and harquebusiers The Swiss won Initiative and moved forward expeditiously Overhead of the battlefield after first two rounds. Things were complicated on the left, less so on the right in my house My units clash with the Tudors. Very tight fighting here. Left flank under John’s command. It was a whirlwind over here, with various flanking and counter flanking. A real knife fight Swiss Pikemen! table view! Tough flanking on the right: the Swiss harqs flanked the Tudor pikemen, the Tudor harqs flanked the Swiss pikemen. My defeat: three moral checks and my remaining units fled the field, leaving the Tudors in sole dominion of the right flank. 2nd Game: Onward to Stalingrad, German tanks trying to cross the board. I was on the German side. Point Squad of 4th Panzer, headed to Stalingrad. The road is clear but the Sovs are thick down the way. well shit, it’s a KV2 on our right flank, hull down on the damn bridge. This little lady lit up our Panzer 2’s on the road and gave us much consternation. The Soviets take positions both on the road and under the relative cover of the raised train track My Panzer 3’s got luck and took out the KV-2 Where did these pigs come from wtf 4th Panzer is moving forward but is taking significant fire from the Soviet positions. Which are, frankly, getting better. 4th Panzer is starting to have some luck clearing the road. But not without casualties of our own.
