Canon: all PCs will get extra backstory-related skill points

As part of character creation, everyone will get some free skill points at start related to their backstory. For example: if your character grew up and trained as a blacksmith, you’ll get a couple points in Craft: something and Profession: blacksmith at first level.

This will be on top of the traditional two traits/one drawback that are part of character creation as well. In general, while I am warming to more of the PF2 rules, I do not like the new skill system and do not see us using that after the official PF2 release in August.
